Wow, you're off to a GREAT start here on the forums. I won't jump down your throat for that borderline-homophobic remark... yet. But you're dangerously on that line.


Between the two? Phoenix/Iris, simply because Phoenix/Maya feels incestual to me, and the idea of the two of them in a romantic relationship completely squicks me out.

I prefer Phoenix/Edgeworth to either of them, to be honest.

I SEMI agree with CFTF, except that saying "It sucks" isn't providing the best help either, truth be told.

I like Maya/Phoenix. I WILL admit though, calling it incestual is a plausible statement, although I see a few Edgeworth/Franziska ones online as well, which is more incestual than Phoenix/Maya could EVER be IMO, but consider this: JFA. Case 3. a 16 year old girl is being proposed to by TWO guys.... yeah......... nothing more to say for now. (I hope that people don't start to write any Regina rated M fics now. *shudders*)

Personally, while I can see why people would like either pairing, I just don't like either.

Phoenix/Maya - I've never picked up on any tiny bit of chemistry between the two of them, yes they trust each other and enjoy each other's company - but that's the basis of a great friendship imo, and not being loveeerrsss.

Phoenix/Iris- While I think Iris is sweet, and it's obvious why the writers went down this route- the whole half-arsed it-wasn't-Dahlia-it-was-me-I-luffles-you-Feenie thing was so FORCED and out of place, and even in the PW world, unbelievable that I really dislike this pairing.

The only reason this topic sucks is because people like you are in it. If you'd treat it with some level of respectful and intelligent discourse and not swing your balls around at every opportunity we might actually have other people wanting to chime in on this and other topics.

On a less serious note, my personal vote at first goes to Phoenix and Maya. It's generally agreed that Iris' connection with Phoenix is, at best, tenuous, but at the same time I don't feel that that alone is enough to discredit its merits.

Maya leans on Phoenix more often than not, doesn't seem to act her age, and these sorts of qualities are what lend to her "sisterly" image. She's close to Phoenix, yes, but at the same time she seems to act comfortably and casually around him. Iris, on the other hand, is clearly more soft-spoken and modest, and when faced with Phoenix she's clearly smitten and daresay passionate, even after many years apart. It's debatable whether she acts as much a little girl as Maya does - Iris seems a little naive, in a way.

So, on the flipside, seeing how Phoenix has been so far "unreceptive" to Maya, even after Pearl's OTPing, it may take a moeru interaction fueled by Iris' one-sided affections to see a relationship blossom for him.

Where one has familiarity, the other has passion. Classic scenario?

What's more, once Phoenix loses his badge, Edgeworth seems to disappear from his life. A lot of their interactions are based on the context of the courtroom, and frankly their relationship could only remain deeply personal while they were involved with each other's careers. Without that intersection of their passion for their respective professions, I feel it would be appropriate for Iris to step in - a figure who (foolishly) loves Phoenix regardless of what he is or will be.

I agree with Bee. Telling someone, especially a new person, that their topic sucks because you don't like it is completely out of line. You should really exercise the "Do unto others" rule. Might help you in life too. And maybe look into "How to Make Friends and Influence People."

Back on topic....While each pair has its pros, the cons outweigh them for me and I....personally don't see Nick being with anyone.

Maya is like a sister figure, and extension of Mia to some degree, as is Pearl. And while he knows of Pearl's OTPing, he wouldn't want to end up hurting Maya and disappointing Mia. If that makes sense to anyone.

Now with Iris...I think even after the truth came out, when he looks at her, he still sees Dahlia despite the obvious differences. Having been hurt before, he doesn't want to take the chances of going down that road again. Truth be told, I don't blame him one bit. It's a bad case of deja-vu.

Hardly. This topic sucked from the first post :D I'm characteristically blunt, I know, but honestly, this topic really didn't warrant respectful and/or intelligent discourse.

First, he comes in here only giving the choice between two pairings, not even pausing to consider that someone might prefer other relationships. That in itself isn't too bad.

Then, he assumes that we all will choose a certain pairing because... HE'S PSYCHIC OMG. Yes, all of us will choose Maya and Phoenix. All of us.

But WAIT! CLEARLY, we have FAILED to consider Phoenix/Iris (or, as he reminds us because we clearly don't know shit about the PW games, Ayame). So clearly we must think it over, consider his obviously correct and superior choice.

Not to mention the fact that it looks like it's written by a 10-year-old (Really. "U"? Goddamn kid this isn't AOL, type the damn word out)

The assumption is because Maya/Nick is one of the biggest parings. The think it over is to ask people to not blurt out their thoughts immediately, and not everyone knows that iris is ayame.

It looks like you've judged his/her motive on their spelling and one comment they made. (Which, indeed was insensitive). And if I'm way of base then so be it. :P This topic should not be locked. And I doubt it will be.

On topic, I'd say Phoenix x Iris, since Maya and Nick are a bit too much like Brother and Sister to me. But It's not an easy choice. I'd agree with Yuu in saying that I don't think Nicl would fully work with either of them. But he's still young, plenty of time left to find someone. :D

Okay, all of you need to calm down. Especially you, Funk. We've talked about this before, and I haven't seen your attitude improving. Please stop taking these pairing topics so personally, or I'm going to have to start restricting your posting access.

I'm locking this not because it's "flame bait" but because we already have three perfectly good topics to discuss pairings in. Those threads exist so that we don't have pairing debates all over the place. If you really want to compare Phoenix/Iris to Phoenix/Maya (for whatever reason) please go to the pairing debate thread.

That is what it's for.
