I saw this trailer just today (went to watch Stardust). When it just started, and I saw the courtroom panning scenes and the Japanese dialog and actors, I was "Holy shit! Phoenix Wright DOES have a live action movie!!"
Actually, it's for a movie called HERO, which is a continuation of a series of the same name.
Quote:
The film also stars one of the more popular figures in Japan today, Kimura Takuya (Love and Honor), as a country bumpkin prosecutor named Kohei Kuryu that now works in the big metropolis of Tokyo...This time around Kuryu works on an apparently open and shut case involving a small-time teenage felon. Intrigue starts to develop when the teenage felon walks into court backed by one of the most formidable defense attorneys in the country.
So think Phoenix Wright, but in reverse!
Here's the link to the article:
LinkYou watch the trailer there too. Take note of the courtroom scenes and check it out! Kuryu has a lapel too X3
Edit: It opens in Singapore (and most of Asia) sometime this month, I forgot the date they showed. Not sure if I'd watch it, since I didn't know of this series before hand anyway =/ But if it's quirky enough, I just might.
