The short clips were pretty decent, do you think maybe you could upload a longer clip, maybe you performing a whole song? Since it's hard to explain what I mean by how I think the voice is off a little, here's a clip ... I think maybe you're putting too much breath in your voice/have the sound too far back in your throat ... http://media.putfile.com/shinkredd EDIT: After reading what I wrote, I think maybe this post came off as too critical/ "try doing this like ME ..." I just want to append and emphasize one more time that I do like you as Redd White. I just thinking a little tweaking is in order. Good speed/song too :) I listened to the file, and I'll admit, that it's good... but he has a certain.... je nas sais qui... that makes him sound a bit... grumpy. HOWEVER, If we make a JFA Musical, for the love of all that is holy, YOU PLAY DR. GREY!!! I can totally picture him!!! However, My goal as Redd is to sound as smug as humanly possible... but I know that he also has to be VERY loud, which should even out my voice even more. atomicscribble wrote: One thing, Wrestlemania: Just say "Speldiferous!" a lot more enthusiastically. White's making up words, and using them in a way, he thinks, that makes him The Awesome. Put some life into that and you will have his catchphrase perfected. :D I have actually used Redd White in 2 of my fanfics, so I know his personality well . The only real problem with Redd is that if I have to sing quickly, I'll lose my impersonation of him. Again, I have a question, but this one is for TriforceBun: While I, AGAIN, haven't heard the song yet, will that song count as the Steel Samurai theme what I believe is being thought up? Back to my original points: What's the verdict now for Redd or Grossberg? I am still trying for both (they are never in the same scene, luckily), so I just want to know if there's anything else I need for either? Firstly, I need to know if I need to say more Grossberg lines. And Secondly, I WILL be saying some Redd White lyrics later on, specifically, a more enthusiastic Redd White, and another song if it is to be brought up. I ALSO tend to answer 2 previous questions... right now! First one asked for the 8 lines I sang as Redd, so here they are: Spoiler: Modern Major General lyrics: First 8 lines The SECOND line... TriforceBun wrote: Wrestlemania--impressive speed and good singing. If I could make one suggestion, it sounds like you're speaking a bit quietly when recording your Redd White voice. Try projecting a bit more to get more of the guy's stuffy confidence. I try to sound as stuffy as possible, but as soon as I can speak up loudly, I'll be able to do so (It's 3:37 AM here). Also, I'll be honest, when I am nervous, that hyper-speed speaking? That comes naturally to me. And even when I'm not nervous, I'm asked to slow down my speech. Granted, I can't impersonate others and speak too quickly, but I'll try to later on anyways. I'm looking through the character list, and I realize... we need a LOOOOT more people to sing some roles! We haven't gotten anyone from 1-1, for example... assuming we start there... I can't play ANY of their voices though (I imagine what they would sound like in my head, then I try to imitate... without success. ), so I'll stick in the realm of 1-2 (and 1-4, since Grossberg is there too...).

Great attempt for a first try at Triforce's ultra-groovy song! It gets pretty intense towards the end, I can understand why you stopped short :P But I'm forcing Phantom Otaku to put up a recording of this song with her voicing Cody Hackins ... I already have all the other parts recorded, so you will hear a complete demo featuring her tomorrow ![]() By the way, I would like to suggest the following program to ANYONE recording samples/demos ... http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows - Audacity It's freeware, open source, and VERY awesome. I think it was Sen who originally pointed it out to me, and I now find it indispensable

I heard about this from the lovely Chihiro and I thought to offer some help myself. A lot of indies use http://www.last.fm/ to upload their songs online. Personally, I already have an account and I think it's great. If Ethed wants she can set up a account herself or branch off mines if she wants. It's cool with an account because you can post pics, bios, news, videos of whatever you want and you could make things more personalized. If you guys get this done, heck you'll be legends. Well, before I sound anymore like a last fm salesman, I'm just letting you know that putfile site sometimes displays porn in their video links or just coulda been my awesome luck. I'm only saying this because someone could click to hear a song and may find something else along with it. At least with FM you wouldn't have that and you can control if you want your song just listened to or can be downloaded too. Just something to consider. Chihiro and I started on some instrumental tunes. Like we almost have the cornered theme close and a detention center melody both orginal started, but it's like what she said before, they aren't meant to go with singing. I could tell she almost felt like quiting. I guess we aren't theater people. Ironic for her since she had an ex-boyfriend who did theater in New York. |

CCJ, there'll be a lot of need for instrumental tunes - for wordless action on the stage, interludes, and even more so, spoken dialogue. Chihiro's work impressed me a hell lot and she, even more the team of you two, would be a great help in shaping the musical. Remember we are always open to your suggestions and are not forcing you into something you don't want to do or done to your pieces. |

Hmm... Alright, I'll hae 2 start making voice clips soon, but first... Ethed, anything else I need to submit? I've sent around... 6 clips now, I believe... 4 Redds, 1 Grossberg, and 1 Viola. Edit: I FINALLY heard "The Samurai Always Wins". VERY nicely done. I am a instrumental fan, and I can see a few other places where the instruments could fit, such as a string instrumental during Phoenix's lines, for example. I had some trouble distinguishing Edgeworth and Phoenix in the song, though, but to be honest, I have 1 thing to say about my complaints: Nit-Freakin'-Picking. If this was X-Play, this song would get Five Triple-Crush-Suplexes... out of five. Edit: Might as well post this, since it's asked so much now: TriforceBun came here to kick ass and make music... and if you don't like the latter, the first is always available.

Presenting The Phantom Otaku's version of Cody Hackins! ![]() TriforceBun's "The Samurai Always Wins!" with vocals by myself and The Phantom Otaku ... DOWNLOAD NOW! I definitely like this song even better than "A Guy You Can Trust"(Sorry, like the shortened title :P) The craziness at the end is just too awesome And, since my versions of the other characters sound so similar, I can put up another version of the recording with any character's vocals cut out if requested. Want to put in your own Phoenix or Edgeworth? Let me know ;) Once again, big thanks to TriforceBun for the excellent song :D |

CCJ: Thanks for joining in to help make background music. That is an extremely important part of any musical that your average audience-member might not think of. But if there were no background instrumentals for the rest of the story, the vocal songs would seem odd and out-of-place, and diminish the whole show. Anyway, with the praise you and Chihiro have gotten from Ethed, it sounds like you guys have some real talent. I can't wait to hear the music you guys have come up with, and I hope Chihiro doesn't quit. I'm sure everyone else here realizes how important background instrumentals are for the entire musical. We're all in this together, and every part is important towards our final goal. With everyone working together, and with all the amazing talent that has signed up so far, I am certain that this musical really is going to be something amazing, one of the most dedicated, professional projects the interwebs has ever seen :D [/soapbox] P.S. Sorry for the double post. Saw CCJ's post and had to comment. |

Sorry for taking forever with the Redd White sheet music, but I was writing a follow up, for when Phoenix confronts Grossberg about White. And this time I have a bad midi AND lyrics. Here's the MIDI: http://www.midicreator.net/Program/files/song319.mid And the Lyrics to which it is to sung: GROSSBERG: My boy. You see. What Redd Has said Is true You lose You. Can. Not. Win. PHOENIX: But, I have to avenge Mia! GROSSBERG: My boy. You see. As noble as that may be. The task. CANNOT BE DONE. My boy. You See. The noose. Is loose. Right now. But soon, THE BOARD WILL FALL My boy You see Like fighting with Gravity, In. The end. YOU ALWAYS LOSE. My boy. You see. If you Should Chose To take him on. YOU'LL RUE THE DAY. PHOENIX: But, with your help Mr. Grossberg... GROSSBERG: My boy. You see. Now Redd White is after me. I'm done. FOR HELP- -ING YOU. Note: Phoenix sings to no tune. He just talks. And Triforcebun, that song is amazing. Goin' on my iPod. |

We should give "The Samurai Always Wins" the Super Metroid treatment: randomly have a choir sing some chords at high moments of the song... no clue why I thought of that, but it also delivers more of an impact for certain moments. |

^_^ Wow, a musical, exciting... Hmm... well.. I can write all right if you need. I'm terrible at composing music, but I can come up with lyrics really easily. Mainly I'd like to volunteer my piano skills. I've been playing for 9 years and I also know how to play the flute, which I have 4 years experience with. I can also sing well (i believe, and people have told me) and I have a alto range. Possible problems. 1. I have a mac thats is pretty low on teh memory 2. I don't have a mic/whatever equipment could be needed.... yet.... If you guys tell me a good kind I can get some with the christmas cash I will be getting. I'd really like to be a part of this so.... ^^ please tell me what I need to do and I'll do it! |

Ajerben--well done. It's always fun to hear new takes on it, although you might want to get a better mic; the overall sound is a little fuzzy. Nice work as always, Shinkinrui! Your Phoenix and Edgeworth sound excellent, particularly considering I mangled a couple of Phoenix's parts when I recorded it. And the overlapping parts at the end sounded very nice. "A Guy You Can Trust" IS less wordy...call it what you like, pal, I'm not married to the title of it. Heheh. Phantom Otaku's take on Cody is really, really great. The song's in her range, her diction is perfect for such a fast bunch of lyrics, and the voice itself fits Cody extremely well. If Cody's role hasn't been filled yet, I nominate her! She might make a good a Maya too--that voice clip with her and ff3girl ruled. Also, CCJ, I'll look into that site, because I sure don't want people clicking on my songs only to be greeted with naked nastiness (or nasty nakedness). And Shin, what site do you upload the songs to? EDIT: Edgeworth, I can't seem to get the tune you posted to work, but I think it's this computer. |

I'm using my own personal domain/webhosting. Sorry, but it'd be impractical for me to offer to host for everyone on it I'll gladly offer some webspace for hosting stuff once we start having some official demos and stuff we want everyone to hear, but I don't have the bandwidth for everyone's auditions and stuff. Sorry. Thanks very much for the feedback Phantom's going to be very pleased that you think she should be Cody! And I'm very glad you're enjoying my renditions of the songs ... I don't think I make a very good Phoenix or Edgeworth, but I did my best on the parts. I'm hoping more people will take me up on my offer to put up the song with only Phantom Otaku's part so they can record their own parts and we can hear other people's versions of Phoenix and Edgeworth

It's nice to see everyone putting so much hard work in! :D I've already been accepted by Ethed, but I thought I might as well put some voice clips here to see what part, if any, the rest of you thought I could pull off. :P I only have clips of Maya's lines, but I don't think my voice fits her very well. Sorry for the kind of poor quality; it's all I have available while I'm home for break. I can be heard clearly, though. :) Song: Losing My Mind Lines: "...you crushed him, Nick, CRUSHED!" Hey, I kinda' like that. Having a theme that plays in the background whenever someone alludes to DL-6, and then when the actual story is being told it'd have it's own song to the same music. It'd be like "Doom DOOOOOOM..." ... Except better ...
