When I was writing my reply about illustrating guilty people executions, I had this question:
When the defendant is found not guilty, is the person who commited the murder executed?

I have this question because not all the cases are first degree murders:
PW:AA
Spoiler:
  • Turnabout Samurai: Dee Vasquez killed Jack Hammer in self defense.

GS3
Spoiler:
  • Magnificent Turnabout: Godot committed second degree against Chinami, who was channeled through Misty Fey.

For the love of Godot, PLEASE mark your thread with spoilers! I haven't played GS3 yet, and I don't want it spoiled for when I finally get my hands on it. Lord knows I've already seen too much by playing Comeback Translations' demo patch...

If they're not put to death, it's likely they'll get an extended prison sentence, especially if they was involved in altering/covering up the crime.

About Dee: They would charge probably her for first degree murder but not on this case if they found out her mafia connections and any murder cases link to the mafia. She probably has a seat next Karma and Gant on Death row. Devasque

For the love of all things that are holy, PLEASE be specific about your spoilers!

Like,

PW1 Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Lol, Mia Dies

And back on the subject: What Dee did was justified Self-Defense. Though, she went and ruined that by manipulating the crime scene and getting someone else accused of the crime.

"When the defendant is found not guilty, is the person who commited the murder executed?"

I suppose that's more of a matter for the (unseen) trials/sentencing of the guilty party.

Spoiler: PW:AA1 and 2 spoileriffic question
Is it explicitly stated in Justice For All that Von Karma was executed, or even dead? They make reference to him being "gone" and "never coming back" but that could just as easily mean life without parole

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

No, it was von Karma. Phoenix was asked Fransiska about her methods saying doing this won't bring your father back. She then counters with "When did I ever mention my Papa?"

(Quotes aren't exact)

Although, the only people who were definately executed were people who'd done it at least twice.

Spoiler:
Chinami and Darke, with a 3-5 kill score. (Technically Chinami did kill Kaminogi, even though he is reborn in the guise of Godot)

fuck

And, uh...
Spoiler: PW:AA + JFA
It's kinda hard for Will Powers to have been killed in self defense, seeing as how he's in JFA.

I presume they get another trial. The former trial was to prove one person guilty or not guilty, let's say Larry Butz, and the next is to prove another one guilty or not guilty, let's say Sahwit.

That's not true Darzie. There's evidence in GS3 that you can be sentenced to execution for even one murder.

As for Karma...I was just playing GS3 recently, and they do bring up von Karma (spoilers as concerns just Karma):

Spoiler:
At the end of GS3, Phoenix reflects on how Franziska "lost her father". Given the context of the remark, it's almost 100% certain the von Karma is dead, not just in prison somewhere.

Well, Adrian's pretty much guaranteed to be found Guilty, but most likely only of obstruction of justice. I'm fairly certain that that does not carry a heavy jail sentence

Considering she shows up six months later out of jail, with a new job, I think it's pretty safe to say that she either served a minimal jail sentence or large amounts of community service. Franziska putting in a good word for her may have even gotten her a reduced sentence, if applicable, though that's another story.

I'm not quite sure about what happens when someone is found guilty... after all, at the end of the third case of GS2...
Spoiler:
Regina says: I will take care of him since Acro is gone..." But why didn't she say" until he comes back??" it suggest that he could be executed!!

also...with Lana Skye...

Spoiler:
Phoenix says: you could risk your life if you do that!!" so does that means that she could be executed for a single murder??

the quotes aren't exact but it suggest the execution of the guilty people. I could give more exemples....they are plenty of them Sadshoe

and facts are obiviously saying that...

Spoiler:
Von Karma is dead. Like Maya's quote"But her daddy is never coming back..." Maya was in her little lost village so she couldn't knew if he died in prison or not.

so now...what happens with guilty people?? Acro is not a bad person!! I don't want him dead!!

The answer is simple, the prisons in AA/GS are maximum security and impossible to escape from with no visitations allowed.

But on a more serious note, people can be "gone" and "never coming back" if they have life sentences.

I bet they keep it ambitious in case they want to have some kind of crazy thing in a future game where you see the criminals again.

Imagine a game where a criminal from a previous case is framed for murder in prison and you have to prove them not guilty.

For some reason, I doubt that von Karma was already executed, especially that quickly.

Spoiler:
Chinami was convicted of one murder, and implicated in 2 others, as well as a possible conspiracy to commit murder with Onamida (while it was probably legally a suicide, it could be argued that she drove him to it with that 'pact' and never intended to follow through with her side). And she was executed at least 4 years after her conviction.

Nope.

Spoiler: ??? spoilers?? GS3?? not really spoilers but kinda :(
What about when Pearl visits Morgan? Apparently she can still visit her, and Morgan is just as guilty as Ini. :/

And also.

I think he's been executed by now. :(
