Phoenix Wright characters eye-colour question.

This is a rather odd question I suppose, but an important one. I am mostly curious on this because I am intending to make a Chibi-fied UFO Catcher machine style plush of a few Phoenix Wright characters.
In Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney's sprites and official production arts, Phoenix's eye colour is a blackey-brown colour. However in some production arts (on the cover of Justice for All?) Phoenix's eye colour is more of a grey-blue colour. I am just curious to know what colour Phoenix's eyes are supposed to be.
Also, Edgeworth's eye colour. I can only see grey from the production arts and pixels...
Any help on this subject would be muchly appreciated.

And as for Edgeworth, most of the official art has his eyes grey, yes.

Well, while I examine through the CR characters page, I can see quite many who has brown eyes.

Poor us. There's blue or brown or something totally unnatural but rarely green.
It looks like there is no Pw characters with green eyes.

They changed it when they got to 32 color limitation. Ema has bright blue eyes with brown hair, and Gant has glaring green eyes with white/grey hair. Any time they have the same colour as their hair in Case 5/GS4 is purely coincidence, I'd guess.
So for the most part, eye colour = hair colour (or a darker version of the hair colour, e.g. Adrian).
To answer your question, Phoenix has blue eyes in the English art and brown in the Japanese.

Quite right! Green eyes are very rare in anime, but that's because most people find them less intersting (I think so anyway). Blue is less common as is brown. Grey is just so cool! You've now started me looking for characters with green eyes ^_^

...Actually, now that I think about it, how can you tell if someone's eyes are hazel?
Though Gant's eyes are freaky green.

In GS4 his eyes are kind of blue gray, though... Clearly, new guy is not very consistent (even if I do love his work XD).

So, even though Phoenix (as opposed to Naruhodou) is supposed to have blue eyes based on the concept art, I always pictured him with really dark eyes (not necessarily brown, just dark).
The only in-game sprites that even suggest blue eyes to me (and having not payed GS3/4 yet, I acknowledge there could be others I haven't seen) are the ones that make up this animation:
And even then I have to lean in and squint a bit to find the blue.
