So anyway, I'm sure most of this community must have some love for this series's music. And I'm sure that most people that have gotten into discussions about the song titles have noticed that lots of songs seem to have multiple titles. There's a lot of common misconceptions on what the exact song titles are (one common example is "Investigation - Cornered"), and I'm trying to clear up these misconceptions and make a list with exact (well, not exact, since they're "translated") names. Part of these were made by what I can tell by "studying" the Japanese titles, and a decent portion of them just use CR phrases (or phrases from other sources) when I wasn't totally sure on the translation (or if I was sure that the phrase I was using was correct).

And I do know that there's a list of song titles on the site, but it seems that it's not perfectly accurate in some places (but since I don't know Japanese and Croik does, I could very well be wrong on some of the things I think the CR list is wrong on).

Here's the list I have so far, with notes for things I'm unsure on and that I'm asking for help on.

31. Pursuit - Cornered 2004
32. Won the Case! - Unending Victory
33. Ace Attorney 3 - End

* - This one really isn't one I'm confused on (but I might be wrong), but it is "Distant Woman", right? I'm sure it's not "Distant Traces of Beauty" like you see around a lot, but it could be "Distant Traces".
** - Not sure on the phrase. I see "When Something Smells, It's Always Me" or variations a lot, but I don't see that in the Japanese title (but yet again, I may be wrong).
*** - This one I'm very confused on. From what I can tell, it's supposed to be something like "Dim View of Dusky Bridge" but I really have no idea. It doesn't appear to be "Shadows on Dusky Bridge", though.

31. Investigation - Core 2007
32. Reminiscence - Forgotten Legend
33. Won the Case! - My Victory
34. Ace Attorney 4 - End

* - Is "Piercing Eyes" an accurate interpretation or is it straying too far from the original phrasing? "Surging Eyes" seems like it might be more accurate.
** - I have no idea what this one is even supposed to be at all so I just have the most likely-looking one down. I've also heard "Pursuit - Overtaken". Is what's on CR really the most accurate translation for that one?
*** - I've also heard "Fate Smeared by Tricks and Devices". Which is better?

So big thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my questions, even if it turns out that this "accurate list" isn't even necessary anyway.

When these kinds of soundtracks get released there's no telling who translates the titles you get in the labels. When the first OSTs were spread around a lot of them were mislabled because whoever did it wasn't familiar with the characters' names (which is how "Swinging Zenitora" ended up as "Warehouse Tiger"). I took those labels and changed them where I knew there were mistakes, based on the list of Japanese song titles I have. That's were the CR list came from, in case anyone was wondering~

PWAA:
*Technically I think it's just "trial" (or court) but with an implication of "trial is in session," which is why I made it "Court Begins."
**Out of context I think it's just "questioning" but it's what the game uses for Cross Examination, so I assume in a court setting that's it's intended meaning.
***I think it's a play on the phrase "A cowboy without a desert," since it's in reference to Jake. In the parenthesis it says "deka", slang for "detective." I think it's just there to show you're supposed to read the detective for kanji there as "deka" instead of "keiji."

JFA
*Yup, that's the equivalent for ringtone.

T&T
*I'm not sure where you got "Distant Woman." It's definitely "Distant Traces" (or "Faraway Traces" if you like, or "Distant Looks" or something along those lines). The reference to beauty comes from the kanji for "beauty" being in her name (one of those mistaken titles that didn't recognize certain character names).
**The Japanese pun on Larry goes, "In the shadow of every incident, it's gotta be Butz" (yappari yahari). The song title just changes it to "it's gotta be me." What CR has up would be the English version equivalent, so it would be easier to recognize.
***Yeah...this one could probably be more accurate. It's more like, "Scenery From Dusky Bridge."

The Japanese titles I took from a list JapaneseGIRL girl passed around at one point... but I don't have it on hand now, so I can't check those ones you mentioned. Do you have the scan?

Oh, that makes sense. But I'm not sure how whoever did that list left out the "swinging" in Tigre's theme. I mean, it's right there in the kana...I think.

Eheh, that's because by ""studying" the Japanese titles" I mean I cut the song titles up and ran parts of them through multiple online translators to try and figure them out. All I saw for 遠い面影 was that it started with "Distant" and ended with something else, and I ended up thinking that "something else" was "Woman". But my plan failed me.

Oh, I kind of suspected it was from the Japanese equivalent to that phrase, but I wasn't sure. Alright then.

Thanks for clearing up those song titles. That's just about everything I was confused on.

Sorry, I don't have the scans. I just used the song titles from the Tanomi page that you have linked to on the soundtrack listing.

This reminds me: what exactly does Swinging Zenitora supposed to mean? Dictionary.com doesn't have it and a google search reveals a bunch of people who have the pseudonym "zenitora."

The worst mistake by far has to be the mislabeling of "Pursuit ~ Caught" as "Investigation ~ cross-examination." It actually confused me a great deal because you don't hear that song durng the investigation. I also wondered why they'd seemingly combine two different phases into one title.

Zenitora is Tigre's pseudonym in the Japanese version. Swinging refers to the style of the song, a jazz swing.
