I always thought, bottom to top, it was clubs, spades, diamonds, hearts. I read it in a book somewhere... like, the levels of existence/intelligence or something. War/Killing (clubs) to Agriculture (Spades) to Riches (Diamonds) to Love (Hearts).
But like I said, I saw it in a book, so I can't be too sure. AND I paraphrased it. xD
