As everyone knows, spoilers are a big deal in a fandom where games come out in Japan long before anywhere else. The mods and I have done our best to keep Court Records' fans from stumbling on something that could harm their gaming experience. But then, we can't police everyone's posts and avatars 24-7, so things get through. This is the internet, and the only fool proof plan for remaining unspoiled is to stay away entirely.

But I continue to make the effort!!

The Prosecution Lobby was originally intended as a non-spoiler space where people could come to ask questions without fear of spoilers. But when GS2 came out, everyone just went to the GS2 section for that, so this section doesn't necessarily need to exist. So it's being converted to cover a different problem that's been discussed on the board.

The Prosection Lobby is now the Gyakuten Saiban 4 section.

Because it's likely we'll have a long wait before GS4 is out in English (let alone other languages) it's going to be difficult to keep things under wraps. So to help, I'm going to try and keep the GS4 information and speculation in this section.

And I decided this just a minute ago, so I haven't moved the threads around yet. But I will, and probably start a new GS4 News thread, since the other one is over 70 pages and it's impossible to find anything in it anymore.

Once GS4 is out in English (fingers crossed, everyone!) this section will probably change again to become the GS5 forum. It's function now is to keep the Japan Only information aside from the rest of the Phoenix Wright Discussion.

As for GS3, though it faces a similar problem, it's been around long enough that people aren't clamoring over the information, so GS3 related things still go to the Defense Lobby.

YOU MUST STILL USE THE SPOILER TAGS IN HERE. We have a lot of people interested in GS4 who haven't played GS2 and 3 yet, so just because this is a GS4 section don't assume everyone knows what happens in between the games.

Ummm...if there's anything else, let me know. I'm off to move threads.

I just posted this to the Bar Exam, but it deserves repeating:

"With the new game coming out, it seems like the forum is becomming split between those that want to be spoiled and those that don't. I know a lot of people have complained about being spoiled as to GS2 and 3 from the forum. I'm sorry for that, but at the same time it's difficult to hide information from a game some years old, which is already all over the Japanese fandom.

However, since GS4 is new, we have a chance on this forum to keep a tighter grip on the information and prevent spoiling. Anders and I had a discussion on the topic, and thus, starting the moment GS4 is released, these new rules are going into effect:

ALL GS4 INFORMATION MUST GO IN THE PROSECUTION LOBBY. This should be obvious by now. If it has anything to do with GS4, it belongs nowhere else. The only exceptions are fanworks. If you have any GS4 content in your fanworks, you must put a spoiler warning in your thread title AND put the work under a spoiler tag. Tag tag tag.

If you post un-tagged GS4 spoilers anywhere outside the Prosecution Lobby, you will be SUSPENDED for 7 days. If you can't keep your mouth shut it will be shut for you. THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

DO NOT PUT SPOILERS IN YOUR PROSECUTION LOBBY THREAD TITLES. Another obvious one. If you want to talk about a case, put the case number in the thread title and a spoiler warning. If you post spoilers in your thread title, the thread will be immediately deleted and you will be SUSPENDED for 7 days. These titles show up on the main forum and it's very important that you name your threads carefully.

DO NOT PUT SPOILERY SPRITES IN YOUR AVATARS AND SIGS. The sprites are going to start flying pretty soon. Right now, the only sprites/scenes from GS4 you're allowed to use in your sigs/avvies are those poses and animations that have already been released. That includes: Odoroki, Minuki, Kyouya, Kirihito, Hobohodo, Older Ema, Mullet Payne, Takita, and Broom Lady - talking, objecting, looking thoughtful. DO NOT USE ANYONE ELSE. Do not post any breakdown animations that these characters might end up having. Do not use ANYTHING that has not already been shown!

Once the game is out and the sprites available, I'll make a better list of what's acceptable (like, assuming the defendant of case 4-3 isn't spoilery, s/he may be added). But right now we side with caution. If Hobohodo has some extra sprites we haven't seen that show up in case 1, DO NOT USE THEM IN YOUR SIG OR AVATAR. If you post image spoilers they're going down immediately and you'll be suspended for 7 days.

I don't suspect this will be a problem, but IF YOU INTENTIONALLY POST SPOILERS (aka. "Snape Kills Dumbledore" style) YOU ARE BANNED FOR LIFE. Seriously. It's not funny, clever, or cute.

This way, anyone who wants to talk about GS4 can do so freely in the Prosecution Lobby. You don't even have to tag all your spoilers provided you have a SPOILER warning in the thread title.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED AS TO GS4, DO NOT GO INTO THE PROSECUTION LOBBY. I'm going to do my best to keep things organized and safe, but if you go into a thread labeled "Case 4-1 Spoilers" and then complain about being spoiled, I might just suspend you for being stupid. People want to talk about this game. Don't walk into the midst of those people if you don't want to hear what they have to say.

I've considered making a "I only want to know one thing" FAQ type thread in the P Lobby for people that just want tidbits. Such as "Is Edgeworth in it?" with a yes or no answer under a spoiler tag. Simple answers to simple questions. Thoughts on this?

...That's all I can think of right now for the forum. Let me know if I haven't addressed something.

Anyway, when I get back to my normal computer I plan to update the main site. The GS4 characters are being moved onto a separate character page. I've considered making a second Timeline and evidence page as well. Other than that, the only places GS4 content should be visible is in the Case Descriptions, Screenshots, and Sprites. All GS4 information will be separated from 1-3 information.

Hopefully this will keep everything separate but also easily accessible. DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING LABELED "GS4" IF YOU'RE NOT PREPARED TO BE SPOILED.

I may eventually release a "pack" of media for those people that would like to see sprites (etc) but don't want to be spoiled. It would include things like Odoroki's main sprites but not any special case 4 sprites or things like that. That way people can have copies of simple talking animations without having to see all the breakdown sprites as well.

Okay that's it. Just remember, when in doubt, put it in the GS4 section under a cut.

If you have any other comments or suggestions feel free to post here."

Is the Prosecution Lobby going to be for GS4(AJ:AA) or something else after Mr. Wooster is done with his moving?

Once GS5 is announced, it will have a subforum within the Prosecutor Lobby just like GS2 and 3 do.

Nope! That part of the GS4 rules isn't going to change for a while (giving people a chance to play the game).

Spoiler:
I believe that they initially named the game after Wright is because they were unaware that the fourth game will have a new cast of characters. It is possible that developement of the game was occuring while the translation of the first phoenix wright game was taken place, but communication between the localization team and the delveopment may have been limited to the first game.
