...

Mugitsura should be called Newman Delaware.

The first 2 syllables from each name, joined together, get Newdel, which sounds exactly like Noodle.

Which respects the whole kanji mashup thing.

No. Urkel sounds too common, too hillybilly-ish. Kirihito is sophisticated.

Although it's not a name, but could be used as a name, Crimson for Kirihito or possibly even Odoroki, if that Apollo name turns out to be false.
It could be used either as a first name or last name.
Spoiler: 4-1
Crimson would fit Kirihito well; because if you add an "E" between "m" and "s", it turns to "Crimeson". Pretty fitting, eh?

ANd to be honest, I wish Minuki's name could stay.

Steve Urkel came from Family Matters.

Anyway, I'm rather attatched to the word reversal idea. And you can adjust Eric a little so it becomes Elric or something. Elric Relic... Actually that sounds a little strange...

I know it's lame, but Kyouya Garyuu should be called....

Camui Gackt! :D

.......I told you it was lame >_> But it fits when I you think about it.
1) Both Gackt and Kyouya are singers
2) The G in the name (The necklace, remember?)(and even the "K" sound too)
3) They even kind of have the same personality.... :yuusaku:
4)
Spoiler: "Just in case >_>"
When Kyouya is younger with his sunglasses, he really reminds me of Gackt when he had blond hair

Let's see... I've been toying with names for a little while. I apologize if any of my ideas come across as stupid. :payne:

Housuke Odoroki - Brendan Blaine. 'Brendan' is a name of German origin meaning 'fire', in reference to his "burning heart". 'Blaine' because of similar reasons.

Minuki - Sabrina. Named for Sabrina the Teenage Witch, because they're both girls who can do magic.

Kirihito Garyuu - Gary Manson. 'Gary' because it's kind of like 'Garyuu' and
Spoiler:
'Manson' because of the serial killer Charles Manson.

Kyouya Garyuu - Kyle Manson. 'Kyle' because it has some of the same letters as his Japanese name and 'Manson' because of Marylin Manson.
Spoiler:
It also fits very well with his brother's name, if you know what I mean.

Takita - Foxtrot. His jacket has foxes on them, and part of his hair looks like little fox ears!

I don't like the name Lawson or any variation of that for Odoroki.

First off, you aren't giving him a name, you're just translating it. That isn't a good way to give someone a name. Second, I'm sure that there are many people who don't know about court records or that Housuke translates into Son of Law, so the pun is useless.

And as for the I am Fine joke, I don't think that should affect the name either. As far as I know, that joke is only used once (Correct me if I am wrong) So, setting up a name for a joke that will only be used once is a great way for a dive-bomb.

Wait, what? The point of a translation is to keep the original text intact.

The point of the pun in the Japanese is that he has "law" in his name. It's like having a butcher named Mr. Meat or a banker named Mr. Bills. It's just funny, whether you know the original Japanese or not.

So calling him Mr. Lawson, Mr. Justice, Mr. Court - it's all cheesey and appropriate XD;;
