The point of the pun in the Japanese is that he has "law" in his name. It's like having a butcher named Mr. Meat or a banker named Mr. Bills. It's just funny, whether you know the original Japanese or not.

So calling him Mr. Lawson, Mr. Justice, Mr. Court - it's all cheesey and appropriate XD;;

Odoroki should be a lawyer by day, superhero by night. XD

JUSTICE MAN!

Pft, no way in hell would he be Justice Man. He'd be...

:odoroki: JUSTICE GUY!

He'll make sure people get what they deserve, especially women who lie

Points if you get that.

This is sort of related, but I hope that the Kitakis remain as yakuza members instead of becoming the mafia or something.

I doubt the localized version would retain "Kitakitsune", though.

They'd keep the fox theme, but not the names.

Oh, I'm sure the names would still be changed, I just want them to be American Yakuza.

I got a few decent ones.

:garyuu: = Louis Cypher
Sounds innocent enough, but put it together, and it sounds a lot like Lucifer, which would go well with how some people describe him. Not sure what to call Kyouya though...

Hamigaki = Lester Reen. Sounds like Listerine, get it? (is bricked.)

Kawadzu = Val Princeton. Princeton is a famous college of course, and Val sounds slightly like Vale... Two wlite college names for the college nerd.

Takita's last name HAS to be fox because of his hair, and his dad's apron. As for a first name well...

Post subject:  Re: Give English names to GS4 Characters

Well the Italian word for "fox" is "la volpe", so Takita could be named:

Antiono la Volpe?
Tommy la Volpe?
Vincenzio la Volpe?
Tony la Volpe?

Bleh, all of those suck. >__<

Post subject:  Re: Give English names to GS4 Characters

Yeah, we need for his first name to sound gangster. Because Just imagine:
1.(Gangster name) Fox fits him so well
2.(Gangster name) la Volpe fits well, as well

Maybe the name of an actor in a movie? Other than that... well.....

"Antonio", "Vincenzio", "Tommy", and "Tony" are already generic Mafia names.

KYUUBI la Volpe?

Post subject:  Re: Give English names to GS4 Characters

Yeah, I think for Itallian names, Antonio fits perfectly.
But la Volpe added to it makes it sound.... different, like there is something missing.
And is Takita Itallian? *stares at avatar* I don't know. I only own GS4, I don't understand the language.

AJ Bryant wrote:

Takita's Japanese in GS4, since his family's the typical Yakuza. Once the game's localized, though, chances are pretty high that the Yakuza will get changed to Mafia, and the Kitaki/Kitakitsune Clan will be turned into a Pseudo-Italian Mafia-sounding name, keeping the fox theme.

I can't think of any names except "la Volpe", though. :/

Yeah, that would make since.

But anyway,Kyouya's first name should be Rock. Can you guess why? *Kyouya's theme song plays* :kyouya:

Too cheesy. And if his and Kirihito's last name don't start with a "G", then is first name needs to, or else the bling he wears wouldn't make sense. That, or the "G" will probably just get changed to a flame or something.

Random one for Koume:

Matilda la Volpe

Damn it, it still sucks. -_-

Given the release of the French names for Minuki (Verité) and Kirihito (Kristoph Gavin) I foresee...

:minuki: Verity

:garyuu: Christopher Gavin

Although, they could be drastically different give the variation between the English and French names we've previously seen.
