Why did Capcom change the picture in Phoenix's locket?

In the Japanese version, it was the current 15 year old Trucy:

But in the current US version, it shows Trucy from 7 years ago...

(No pic, go replay 4-1 to see what's in the locket)

Why'd they do that? I thought it would be sort of spoilerish to let you see 7 years ago Trucy so early in the game...

To be honest, the picture was so small/pixellated that I couldn't tell she was supposed to be younger. I thought it was just Trucy wearing pink.

The game tells us that Zak's been in hiding for seven years and that Trucy never did get to see her father again, so if Zak hadn't seen his daughter in seven years, how could he have a current picture of her?

I would assume that was why they changed it.

Apparently Capcom USA fixed a contradiction in the original version. :yuusaku:

Spoiler: 4-4
Zak was in hiding for seven years and clearly hadn't seen Trucy in that time. Why would he have had a current photo of her in his locket?
