As I type this, I'm still on the first trial, but will go crazy if I don't get this all out. I probably won't check back until I beat the case, since someone is bound to post spoilers.

First, my thoughts at this point:

I'm liking this case, save for one thing-Tachi being the suspect. I like the idea, but it just seems a bit ridiculous(Though, not surprising giving the police in these games and that whole "Maggie"-name-thing). I understand the vent thing, but given what the police know at the point of the arrest, it just seems impossible. I mean, seriously, you are trying to tell me this tiny, blind child bested a man about three times his size with a high-calibur revolver that multiple people say would likely dislocate the shoulder of even a grown person, fled the room quickly, then also quickly dragged the heavy body and a guitar up onto the stage without being seen after it had already been discovered, activated the platform switch he should not even know about, somehow got on the moving platform, then knocked himself unconscious? I mean, come on.>_> I don't know if the kid is guilty or not, but how come no one thinks of this stuff?

Next, my theories:

I believe the killer was Daryan. Here's why:

-For a motive, he could have been trying to frame Gavin and/or ruin his day/big night. There's a bit of hostility between them, which may not be just a result of the mistake he made. All the actions of the killer would seem to implicate Gavin, since he wrote the lyrics the events seem to match, and his keys were found in the victim's clutches. I also believe he was responsible for the name written in blood, since we already know the victim, even if he did see the killer, did not know who it was-it's possible he saw him and knew it was not Gavin, but didn't recognize who it actually was. He knew the name written was fake either because he knew the killer wasn't Gavin or just knew the killer was trying to frame someone. One might ask why he did it during the concert then. I believe he wanted the body to be discovered afterwards, but hadn't counted on Apollo and Ema.

-For escaping the room, I believe he was leaving just as Apollo and Ema were coming in and ended up hiding behind the door, slipping out silently while they were in shock of discovering the victim.

-The weapon could only be used by someone skilled with guns and couldn't be easily obtained by an ordinary person. I don't remember his exact rank, but I remember Daryan being a detective or some other police figure, so he's likely has some firearm training and knowledge, not to mention access to such a weapon. It could even be evidence from some case, since evidence is always a popular weapon.

-He's a grown man and an officer, so one could easily see him getting the body to the platform, along with Tachi, who he knocked unconscious-I presume Tachi witnessed the crime-thus his prints on his escape route. However, unable to speak english and possibly blind, he could not point out the criminal, and was thus placed to be the suspect in place of Gavin. Also, the guitar found on stage was his.

-He would have had easy access to Gavin's guitar and the materials and knowledge to make it go up in flames-probably having seen a lot in his line of work.

-It would explain how a trained musician missed his cue during the concert-he was late getting back from the murder scene, most likely due to Apollo and Ema.

Well, I shall return to playing and see if I'm right. It would be interesting if I was.XD I'm probably wrong, but you never know.

The case has a lot of plot holes, and you'll be sick of it when you're done.

Ya, except it does get points for Klaver being more malicious than in 4-2.

you know, you made one good point, about Klavier being framed and more suspicious than Machi or Daryan.

now that I think about it, the case would certainly be more interesting if Klavier was the one on trial and thought to be the murderer with all evidence pointing at him.
(well.. except Klavier was sorta... on stage...)

but it would be too much like 1-4, huh. And Klavier would end up being the Edgeworth equivalent to Apollo in this series. somehow, I don't think Capcom wants that to happen.

Despite all the plot holes and the utter stupidity of it all, I really liked this case. Maybe it was just because I enjoyed how far out everything was in this case. xD

First of all, his name is Machi, not Tachi. Second, this is almost exactly what I thought would happen.

It was a typo, that's all.O_O;

And I was still right about the killer. Surprised no one in the game thought of my idea as a way a grown person could escape the room.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Daryan looks like he should be part of Organization XIII?
