Is it just me, or is this game the latest in a spiral of increasingly lenient voice recognition? "Sup sexy" works for "Hold it!" "Fudgemuffins" works for "Gotcha!" "There is absolutely nothing wrong with that statement" registers as "Objection!" In fact, seconds ago my brother managed to get two armpit farts as "Take That!" What does everyone here think of it, and does anyone have stories of their own?

"Yo, that's fly, boy."

That got me through the last part of JFA

I'm pretty sure it's only suppose to pick up sound, and the programming for the microphone has not been foddled with enough to only respond to exact statements. That probably explains why you're able to do that.

I've always been saying, "I'm going to [verb]." for the "Hold it!" and something on the lines of, "Gotcha, b[beep]!" for the term of "Gotcha!"

It's amusing, nonetheless. :3

I've yelled "butterfly" and gotten an objection.

I think it just picks up sounds regardless of what it is.

I've also screamed and gotten nothing, and then whisperd and gotten an OBJECTION!

I said nothing and somehow got a "Hold It!"

I literally just shouted out "fjfilsakdfhsdlfion!" and it worked for "Objection!"

I just finished playing a case and blowing into the mic will pass for anything.
It's too bad that there wasn't actual voice recognition - that would have made things interesting. But then again, I'm sure people would get annoyed having to enunciate everything.

I bet I'm not the only person who said "Erection!" instead of "Objection!" for a reply!

I sneezed once, and it registered for "Hold it."

In the earlier games, the speech recognition was much stricter. In the more recent ones I yelled "Quiet, fool!" instead of Objection! It works and its much funnier!

*raises hand* Throughout GS3, my friend. XD

My dog, Gus, was barking at my DS and it turned out to be "Gotcha!"
...Dear God, do you realize what this means, gentlemen!? The GS series has the ability to translate from animal speech to English, right in front of our very eyes! Just imagine, my little Gus standing up there in the courtroom...

...Whatdoyamean it was a fluke? ;_;

Now the doorbell rang, and that was "Hold it!" WHY DOES THIS GAME TEASE ME SO? D:

Me into the Mic: Ol\' Dirty Bastard!
Game: OBJECTION!

Me into the Mic: ...PANCAKES!
Game: TAKE THAT!

Me into the mic: PENIS!
Game: Hold it!

Does that mean I should hold my imaginary penis while throwing pancakes at my radio while it\'s playing Wu Tang?

I share Psyche-locked's sentiments. I remember in the first game trying over and over to get that dramatic shout to trigger the next part of the game. However, in the second game, it was easier, but still seemed like you couldn't say anything. GS3 and GS4 are apparently anything goes.

On another note, since my brother and I both have DS's and more than one Ace Attorney game between us, we tried to see if the "Hold it!" from one would register on the other. (It worked.)

I've only said Objection in Spanish and Japanese in the DS (which worked for obvious reasons)..and also EBJAKSHEEEN

...I found something else out about the mic the other day.

I was dusting for prints in case 2, and I felt weird blowing into the mic since I was sitting in the car with my dad. So, I decided to see what would happen if I rubbed the mic instead... And it picked up. Just barely, and it went so slowly that I ended up blowing into the mic anyway.

So not only can you yell random junk for a response, but you can rub too. :eh?:

I hadn't bothered until recently to mess around with the voice recognition, and it's really picky in the first game (if you compare it with the other games, of course.) I would yell, "OBJECTION!" and I'd be like, "o.o ..." waiting for it to pick up, and I'd go "meh forget it *click button*." In AJ, I was like, "HOLY TAQUITOS!" ---> "OBJECTION!"
"WAFFLECAKES!" ---> "HOLD IT!"
"I... LIKE... CEREAL" ---> "TAKE THAT!"
"*snort*" ---> "GOTCHA!"
