For the first case, why did Shadi set that whole thing up? I know Olga says it was because he wanted to destroy Phoenix Wright, but why? I mean, they seemed to be on good terms, and he was even taking care of the man's little girl. And if anything, Phoenix should be the one who's angry for all that case cost him. |

I wondered that too at first. But after replaying 4-4 it's become a bit more clear to me. It's part of the "foolish pride" that Trucy says he's always talking about. In the flashbacks Shadi says that Phoenix is the only person that ever beat him besides his mentor. So on the one day he's 'back from the dead' he wants to put Phoenix in his place, so to speak. He has a line about it in the MASON system, right before they play poker, something like "Wright, I will absolutely win this game. No matter what." |

Zak Gramarye is a jerk. Yeah, even though Phoenix raised his daughter for half her life, Zak couldn't take the fact that he actually lost a game (gasp!). |
