Just a question: Everyone in Tropue Gramarye has a brooch signifying a certain card suite. If Trucy knows her father was the spade, and she also knows Valant had the heart, wouldn't she recognize Lamiroir's to be the diamond? Just a question I wanted to ask.

It could have been any diamond-shaped brooch with similarity. Like you can't go off and assume things seeing someone with similar items of yours~

True enough, But souldn't she at least have asked?

She might not have thought of it. Out of context, it just looks like a nice brooch, and she might not have realized at first.

Another point to bring up: Trucy's Locket. If she held up the locket to Lamiroir, she probably would've seen the resembalence right off the bat.

Again, people have duplicates of themselves all over the world.

It probably wasn't the correct time for Trucy to start wondering things like that.

Fine, my last point. Wouldn't Trucy be able to recognize her?

Trucy had trouble even recognizing Valant at first. Not only did Lamiroir never take her veil off in front of Trucy, so her face was mostly covered, but it had been a long time and as far as Trucy knew, her mother was gone. She had vanished years ago. Somehow I don't think the first thing on her mind would be "This must be my vanished mother." As for the locket...
Spoiler: 4-4
We can't be sure Trucy had it with her. Phoenix had it during the Mason System which takes place after Vera has collapsed in the present setting when we see the locket. He shows it to Brushel to get the picture of Thalassa.

Afterwards he says he better give it back to Trucy, I believe.

But that is during Vera's trial which would mean that Trucy would not have gotten it back until after her only contact with Lamiroir in the game. That makes it rather hard for Trucy to compare the two and I doubt that she would have bothered to even try at that time unless she already suspected something was up with Lamiroir and by that point, she had no reason to suspect anything. Besides, I'll point out that the veil was still obstructing the view of Larmior's face, so a good comparison would have been difficult.

Good point. However, If Trucy used her percieve ability, she could easily see through the veil.

Huh? I think you misunderstand how the perceive system functions. It certainly isn't x-ray vision. She can pick out nervous tics (and not as well as Apollo can since she lacks the bracelet), not see through solid objects.

I recall being able to see through the veil... Oh sorry, Apollo has a better grasp of the percieve. That shoots down my last point. Oh well.

Post subject:  Re: Lamiroir's Brooch *SPOLERS*

It doesn't matter anyway. Lamiroir's nervous tic is on her throat (she swallows) which isn't covered by the veil. I don't recall him ever seeing through the veil.

Edit: Scratch my last point. I just checked the sprite. The throat isn't completely covered, but the top is partially obscured. I'd have to play the case again to see if the part we look at is also obscured by the veil. Anyway, Apollo's power is stronger which could explain it. :)
Edit #2- Ack! Spelling mistake. It's fixed now. Sorry!

Hopefully, Trucy will follow in her mother's footsteps in this fashion. :3

Also, in my personal opinion (about the brooch), it's not like Trucy is thinking, "Gee, I sure wish I knew where my mother was. I definitely know she was the diamonds of the Tropue Gramarye, so there's possibly nooo way I'll miss her... Yep." I guess you can counter with, "But I bet her mother was always on her mind, zark-a-dork.", but you don't always think about every person that is close to you all of the time. D:

I was just under the impression that Trucy's only interest in the broach was that it was shaped like a diamond, and as the kinda-sorta-maybe diamond of Troupe Gramarye, she wanted it because of its shape. (She does ask Emma several times if she can just take it). As far as I'm concerned, the broach's use was merely

Spoiler: 4-3 and 4-4
as evidence, showing that Lamiroir was at the crime scene in case 4-3. Also, it just happens to have the added connotation that it might be foreshadowing of Lamiroir's true identity. But that, of course, is only for the person playing the game - it's less foreshadowing and more something to go "Oh! That totally works!" with later on.

Just to correct, I think Magnifi is the one with the spades, and Zak actually has the clubs.
