But he had to. Out of the blue, everything shook.
"Wh-what!?" DeMat yelled, waking up. He quickly ran to a door and stood under the treshold, thinking the worst. But nothing happened. Some seconds later, the shaking ceased. It took DeMat some seconds to realize this, and sit on his bed.
"An earthquake?" he said, even when there was nobody with him. "I don't know, that felt oddly... artificial." After thinking some seconds, he stood up, and dressed, realizing he wouldn't be able to get back asleep. He unplugged his cellphone from the battery charger, turned it on, and went downstairs.
The first thing he did was trying to switch a light on. It worked. "Well, at least the electricity is still working." Immediately after that, he opened his laptop, turned it on, and tried to connect to the Internet. The Wi-Fi connection was working, too. "Hmm.. Probably nothing... And I have to stop thinking aloud, specially when there's nobody here." Since the laptop was already open, he started randomly surfing the web.

Shadow Edgeworth, self-nicknamed "The Doctor" and called so by his friends and enemies alike, mainly as he didn't like his real name, was running through a scrapyard. Chasing something. His long brown coat flying in the wind, he was chasing the signal, using a screwdriver of sorts.
"Come on, come on, don't lose the signal...!" he told the device. "Damn, it lost the signal!" he shouted as, indeed, he lost the signal.
He reached into the pocket of his brown suit jacket and pulled out a chewing gum. He didn't get much time to chew it as suddenly, a large earthquake struck where he was, forcing him over! The ground shook and cracked, while he rolled over to hang on to some loose metal. Then it stopped.
"Huh..." he uttered as he got up. And that was... strange... He quickly rose to his feet, and wondered where he should go next...

Wolf began to walk down a dead street after being released (More of catapulted) from the District 14 court house. Apparently he had exaughisted all methods of containment that could legally be endowed for his devious acts, which they only knew a few, which was enough for him. The Death penalty was too harsh, but parole was too lenient, so he was sentenced by a judge that he would serve special commission for the better hope of the city. As for what that would be... Wolf wasn't sure. After ticking off the judge and the attorneys, initiating the 5th, and final recess, the Judge instructed Wolf that if he wanted to continue breathe, that he would have to enact in 900 hours of governmental, monitored service. As for what that meant, he didn't care, until he realized that everything he owned was taken into governmental possession, and to get them back, he would need to willfully fulfill his sentence. He cursed a storm under his breath.
Continuing to walk, everything he owned was what he wore. Apparently there was a special group he was supposed to join to begin his sentence. Something of... "Heroes". He gagged, but realized he would have to honestly help this group with whatever they did; he needed everything he owned back. Wolf was still clueless. He didn't know where to go, who would be there, or what he would have to do, so he did the only thing he could do: aimlessly walk around till he found these "Heroes"... or till one of them found him.

Lord Justis stood outside of the tomb of the Pharoah's men. He had returned from the dead, and with the Pharoah no longer around he would wield all of the power. He would rule the world...
No! What are you saying? There is a greater power, a being that is far more powerful than you. You shall only do their bidding, Justis. You are merely their servant...
"My friends and fellow soldiers...It is time to rise!" Justis held up the Pharoah's Dagger, and a beam shot out of it launching itself into the tomb. Within seconds groaning could be heard, and out came the mummified bodies of the former Pharoah's warriors.
My, it seems as though the Pharoah's men haven't aged so well over the last few thousand years...
The mummy-warriors made their way out of the tomb one by one, and one particular warrior stood in front of him and bowed.
"What is your bidding...Lord Justisssssss..."
"Hehehe...hehehe...MUAHAHAHAHA! It worked! The Egyptian warriors are under my command! I shall be a force to be reckoned with! MUAHAHAHA-"
"I beg your...paaaaardon?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, was that out loud? That was supposed to be a soliliquiy, I guess it just came out."
"Oh, I seeeeee...forgive...meeeeeee...What is your bidding...my master?"
"Oh, whatever. Just grab me a bagel or something. I'm starving." Lord Justis waved his hand and dismissed his army, who wandered off, probably to the nearest town to fetch him some bagels.
Now I just wait for my master's bidding...

Meenyman walked around the crime scene on a street nearby many apartments.
"Hmmm, looks like yet another murder involving a gun. There's so many of these crimes nowadays. Officer, would you mind taking the witnesses to the station for questioning?"
Meenyman continued investigating the crime scene, as it is a detective's job after all.
While searching for vital clues, Meenyman thought about the numerous amounts of crimes happening in this city.
"So many crimes these days....."
An earthquake suddenly interrupted Meenyman's thoughts, and the crime scene was shaking.
A few moments later, the tremor had come to a complete stop.
"Wow, what an earthquake."
Regaining his balance, Meenyman continued to investigate the crime scene.

Wanacoba walked around the streets of asfkjhdas city to go have a drink at the nearest bar, he then felt the floor shake and because of that he fell to the ground. In shock he though "What kind of an earthquake was that!?" He went to higher ground on a building and saw a cloud of smoke out of town. Then he grabbed his phone and dialed 911.
"Emergency services. How can I help you?" said a female voice.
"I felt kind of an earthquake just now and I looked and out of town there's this huge cloud of smoke, you guys should send the police to check what's going on" He said but before he could give more details she said.
"I can't help you" and hanged out.
"What the hell?" He thought while going back to his plan of drinking.

Let's see, he thought, as he browsed a famous news feed site. Huge bank heist, wow; man gives birth to twins, yeah, right; what seems to be a nuclear test in- "Oh God!" he couldn't help but yell. There was a picture of a giant mass of smoke some miles from his house. Without even closing his laptop, or even close the window, he stood up, finished his glass of apple juice, took his cellphone and keys, and ran off his house. He knew a bar nearby that was in a building tall enough to see the smoke from the rooftop.
Some minutes later, DeMat jumped off his bike, and stormed into the bar.
"Hey, DeMat, what'll you have tod-?" the bartender asked him.
"Not now, Jeff!" DeMat replied, still running towards the stairs.
Once he was up, he saw another man, staring at the smoke and talking on his mobile phone. "-you guys should send the police to check what's going on.", he was saying. When he hung up, DeMat approached him.
"E-excuse me, sir, but do you have an idea of what that... smoke is about?" he asked, worrying himself.
