But I mean, I must be really not used to drawing him if I can't get the monocle right. Gotta pay more attention to my OCs! XD

That's all about referencing and practice :) I drew Zeth really weird at first- after practice, I got how I liked drawing him right- I still miss out some stuff. Obviously not the glasses and stuff, but his shirt has arm bands and suspenders In the poker picture of Zeth, I originally forgot both of those. The suspenders and arm bands were an after thought XD You're not alone :)

Doing a whole comic on him helped ALOT.

I see - Artists are messy brains, it seems *g* But I still need to draw Van Egrimm more. I like that dude a lot and that doesn't show all that much currently.
A comic, hmm ... Well, if I had at least the glimpse of an idea for a comic ... *ponders*

On other news, I got myself some pens my brother recommended to me for praticing inking my work and I really hope I will have some success with that. Inking my stuff would help a lot with coloring.

Getting pens is a good start :) I started with Ball point pens, got sick of them blotting, spent all my savings on an ink pen, got sick of it cause it dried up too fast when there was ink still there, begged and pleaded for a better one, and that was was nice till the nib frayed, then I researched heaps and found one I liked, and invested HEAPSinto getting various sizes. Then I went to an Aussie con and discovered Copic Multiliners which is what I use now. They are godly, and they don't bleed. They run till their last drop, and they go down to .03mm- that's like... drawign with a NEEDLE.

I'm not going to tell you to go straight to copics though. Try the cheep stuff, see what you like, then go expensive. You'll appreciate it more, and you'll know what sizes you want. To be honest, I am VERY glad to hear you're gonna start inking. I think your art needs the definition, and it's your next step up :)

For the record- the sizes I invest in are .03, .3, .5, .8, 1.0mm. .03 for fine detail on small object, eyes etc... 3 for small character heavy details, .5 for medium sized characters heavy lines, .8 for large character outlines, 1.0 for boarders and f@#$ off heavy lines. (And cause it's awesome. It's a good filler pen too)

I've also discovered Copic make brush pens. they're godly too <3

Thanks a lot for the pointers :)
Yes, my art does indeed need definition, but I always avoided this until now because I was overwhelmed by all the pens and markers that are out there and my fear that I might ruin a picture with a mishappen ink line. Of course there's my PC to help me fix things, but I'm still a bit of a pussy. XD''

Hon- I've been there, done that. I've had the crap line art. Trust me. It only gets EASIER. What you might want to do is off-set the inking with shading maybe. Not only will it help you spot your blacks, but it'll give it a final copy levelled depth. I use to do it cause I hate d leaving things as scraps. Nowdays I know to move on, so I do

Spoiler: Example image that contains nudity but no bits

^------ This picture was done in ink and pencil. not only did pencil + ink suit the pic, but it gave it a final look.

Spoiler: Also has a similar effect, but with colour added. No nudity

Just so you know :) There are tones of options ^^ If you want to know more, just ask. I've probably tried it >.>

It's not on my front list, so it has either been lost in limbo or I just plainly suck. I apologize either way!

... Only kidding. :godot:

Let's see... One of the oldest Non-Het. pairings I liked was Adrian/Franziska... but NON-Rule 34... perhaps something such as what was implied in the end of Trials & Tribulations... that Franziska taught Adrian how to use a whip... While there has been some amusing are DONE of "the training process", I wouldn't mind seeing some art from you, showing your own depiction of how it went... if it isn't too much trouble, of course. :gymshoe:

I sincerely apologize. If I wouldn't be in so much stress doing requests right now, I would get to it right now. Would a late Christmas gift be also okay?

So much time went by without a single update? Jesus, I'm even more of a lazy bum than Hobophoenix is! I apologize!

I practiced perspective for a bit and drew Maya in a bikini with emphasizing her butt a bit ... XD''
I think it's not bad, but I'm still not very fit with perspective, so I have to keep on practicing!

Bikini Maya
It's kinda NSFW, but no nudity at all, just quite some butt. Enjoy and give feedback!

Continue experimenting with perspective, it will help with your overall anatomy. By the looks of it you've made quite a lot of progress!

I find that using references is very helpful.

I think a reference would help too. Something about the lower back doesn't connect to the butt area, and I'm not sure why. It's great to see you try out some more challenging poses though :)

Thank you very much for the feedback! :)
I use references most of the time, just not for this one. I try to keep my folder with references useful for all possibilities~
I'm so glad you say I made progress! I think so too, but I'm not always sure whether I made good progress or not :meekins:

Oh, I see what you mean, I will pay attention to that next time!
More challenging poses are fun, but quite tricky indeed. I'll try my best in the future too~

Your Elite Beat picture is beyond wicked cool 8D It makes me wish that was a real game! I also really love that snowflake piece; it has such a soft and charming quality to it. S-so cute. And your most recent Maya drawing is wonderful!

I'm always so glad to hear your kind words, Leesers! I'm happy you took a look at previous pictures as well :)
Yeah, I hope I can experiment further with the soft coloration style of the Snowflake picture, I liked the outcome quite myself. Coloration is still a tough subject for me, so it's especially great to have something turning out neat for a change there. :)

Hear hear T.T I know that story. People may think that my finished colour pics look good (or what ever they think), but I spend ALOT more time on colour choice than I do on lineart- Even complex linearts :( Most of the time I just sit there and feel like "I can be a colouring in book- raaaaight?" T.T

I have to learn it if I'm gonna progress in art though. There is a surprising lack on people out there that TRUELY understand colour to the point that they can teach it though. It's actually partially a mathematical thing, but then all those rules can be broken with psychedelic pictures which use colours that shock you or just look good together. It's like relearning art frankly O.o

I've researched color theory recently and you're right, it's much more mathematical than I had expected XD''
I guess I have to read more and try to grasp the general process of colors working together to get a refined coloring style. Until then, I'll try to experiment with techniques and the like to at least get flat colors and basic shading down correctly.

Thank you so much, you two! I always try my best and I'm very relieved that this pose actually worked out well *g*

On other news though, I won't be able to color it anytime soon because GIMP has a severe bug that's currently looked into by the developer team - It only happens to some people, but I'm one of them ... It means that no matter what I'm doing in GIMP, it just crashes after some minutes. Happened after the most recent Windows update. I never had problems with GIMP before, so I'm very angry >_<

Well, that finally convinces me to give Tegaki a try. As long as GIMP doesn't want to work with me, I might as well doodle stuff on Tegaki to polish my skills with my tablet. Hopefully I'll produce something that's worth looking at. XD
