Kristoph Gavin (Defense)

VS

Manfred Von Karma (Prosecution)

- Okay here's a fun topic where you post ideal defenses against prosecutors and explain who would win, lose and why.

Okay so I have to kick start it and I will do so with the example I chose.

Kristoph Gavin Vs MVK.

- In hindsight this looks like a great battle. Ideally this isn't canon due to timeline reasons but hypothetically this is a good match up.

- My first thoughts are that MVK may proceed to victory but only just pending on certain things but then again it would seem that even a perfect win record can be tarnished, (phoenix wright) and of course I always believed Kristoph was much more talented than Phoenix was. (most of the time Phoenix did get lucky as hell)

- My explanation would be that MVK would kick things off with a perfect explanation, Kristoph would not be intimidated one bit and would calmly identify areas to exploit in MVK's case. They would have a mutual respect, (both from Germany and are both as ept as each other) my opinion now changes and leans towards Kristoph winning the case. :garyuu:

So let's roll guys, post your choices and it doesn't matter if they clash in the timeline, just post your dream court battle!

*edit* do let me know if there's a topic like this.

-AJ and AA spoilers warning-

The only reason Phoenix beat MVK was because Larry, who is such a crazy, stupid, and unpredictable guy, was there, and Phoenix was able to roll with it and use it to his advantage. Kristoph is much more strategic, and probably wouldn't give Larry a chance. But if he just takes the rigid, logical evidence and rejects the stupid, unexpected things like Larry, there's no way he can beat Manny. Kristoph may put up a more thought-out and a seemingly stronger fight, but Manny would not allow any holes in his case; he might make it seem like there is a hole as a trap, but he wouldn't actually let a hole be there.

I don't care who he's facing, without something unpredictable like Larry (or even Polly), Manny would not lose. Don't you think over 40 years he'd have fought someone like Kristoph?

Also, Kristoph is a wuss compared to Manny. Kristoph forged evidence once, then was scared of it for seven years and had to make up a whole convoluted insurance. Manny forged evidence several times over his career, and didn't go crazy trying to cover it all up. And while Kristoph killed ppl when his secret was about to be exposed, Manny got someone else to kill them, which is so much better. (...in terms of them going to jail if the truth is exposed instead of you)

Anyway, I'd like to see Polly vs. not Payne or Klavier. (Polly against someone who, you know, won't solve the case for him psst! play Turnabout Substitution!)

Personally, I think Manfred would win no doubt.

The defense does not win every time, and against Manfred the odds are even lower.

First of all, Manfred hasn't won a case for 40 long years. I'm pretty sure he's faced many talented defense attorneys before meeting Phoenix Wright. With that 40 years he would have a lot of experience, compared to Kristoph. 40 years, it's a long time. In fact it's longer than Kristoph's age!

Also, I have noticed Manfred objects A LOT. Perhaps this strategy could be used to stop Kristoph from turning around cases, it was hard enough even for Phoenix. We don't even know how many cases Kristoph won or lost.

Perhaps a Polly vs. Edgey? I'd really like to see him face Franny. :ka-whip:

Manfred doesn't take crap from anyone, so I'd probably say Manfred actually.

Gavin seems to like long winded speeches, whilst Manfred prefers to stick to the point and get it out right away. Both seem like the sort who like prepared witnesses, so nothing unexpected would come about. Since neither like unexpected occurrences, it'd easily be Manfred's win.

And, let's consider this: Manfred harboured a bullet in his shoulder for...how many years again?

What about Kristoph Gavin vs. Godot?

I think that's a pretty sweet match up.

Godot is a cool customer, but his prosecuting skills are weak.

The best thing he ever did was the whole "Way to prove your client was innocent of theft, Wright, but you put him at the crime scene of a murder," thing, and that was pure coincidence.

I think that :karma: would win. He objects so much that Gavin doesn't have a change.

Karma. He wins before the trial even starts by perfectly preparing (forging?) the evidence and the testimonies.
To beat him, one needs to rely on luck and improvisation. The former is impossible to predict ; the latter is one of Kristoph's weak points.

Definitely Manfred. Honestly,if it wasn't for Larry showing up in 1-4, Edgy would be convicted. Only the most unexpected of happenings can trip up ol' Manfred.
Also, between the two Kristoph's a wuss in terms of underhandedness.

Who'd win in :youngmia: vs. :godot:

Mmmm, probably Mia because she studied to be a defense lawyer, while Godot didn't study to become a prosecutor.

Or :shoe: vs. :missle:

Okay, that was just random :godot:
