So... Gyakuten Saiban anime. Do we want it? I know I do. Been having a lot of debates with my GS-playing friends lately, about whether or not it'd work. My opinion is that it'd be freaking epic, as long as the storyline stayed up to the quality of the games.
Also I suppose the biggest reason I really really want a GS anime is that all the characters would have voices, and we'd hear them speak more than occational two words. Yes, I am obsessed with the relationship of characters and voices.
If there was to be an anime, should the main character be Phoenix or Apollo? My vote goes for Phoenix. Too much awesome characters to skip.

but if the games were Animated instead of static Sprites, then there wouldn't be a need for Anime adaption.
but yeah, i would like hearing the voices and a retelling of the trials or something.

Though I'm not really sure how they would do it... Would it be like a retelling of the games or would they have new cases/characters introduced like they did with the manga? I actually wouldn't mind either way. Maybe if they did a retelling they could change and add stuff to the story.

its better to watch the same Story that you played in the game, but with a Twist in it in the Story.

*New chases
*New Plots

I think everyone has preconceived notions about the characters voices/mannerisms and the pace of the action, and a lot of people would be disappointed if it didn't live up to their expectations.
I would personally love an anime and would enjoy it even if it wasn't what I expected, but I know many people that would claim it "ruined Phoenix Wright" if it didn't fit their needs.
Then again, I always imagined Crispin Freeman doing a spot on Edgeworth and I'd be dissapointed if they chose someone less capable.
And I agree that the anime fan-base would pervert things a little.
I'd rather they worked on more games, anyway.

Thats true, but Where is the anime Adaption Now?
If they think like you, then they have Already made a adaption since the beginning or Midway, tru the series was released. =/
Edit: i guess the creators arent ready for Anime yet.

But since they made the Wiiware games WITHOUT the voices I am pretty much negativ in this point, I am afraid(But A few Wiiware games come also from actual games which are on the wii)
But since I am afraid that the Wii became a casual-console(Despite the fact that Zelda and Metroid other M do appear), it is highly unlikeable
Perhaps they look how the wiiware version is running and if a lot fans may demand a full spoken game or anime, who knows?

yes im well aware of this...im just annoyed when I see it happen at all...but another thing that annoys me ( which happens quite often...at times a form of censorship others just for the audiance to understand ) is alteration of material for another audiance ...not saying its always wrong but it bothers me at times especially when they didnt need to. :P
thats why I watch subs because I can watch it 100% unchanged...
anyways enough of that :P
id like to see an anime adaption myself...but it would be hard to pull it off.

Well, I do have to agree, the fanbase here is a bit weird.
Also, if it became a reality, I wouldn't be able to watch it, because here in Sweden anime barely exists. Second, nowadays boys my age where I live prefer games where you blow each others heads off. So I think a anime about a lawyer wouldn't be a hit here. Also, think if they dubbed it...

Any fanbase will have its proportion of idiots. But along with those idiots, there will be sensible fans who contribute to the fanbase. I just tend to ignore the stupid idiots.
As for an anime, as much as I love the TGS trailers, hearing all the voices and see characters in poses other than the sprites, I don't know how well PW series can translate into anime. Do we want an adaptation of the cases, or something totally new? Regardless of which, a lot of it will simply be characters standing there and giving testimony, cross-examinations, and rebuttals, which, while fun for a game, is not very exciting to watch.
Many video games have gotten anime adaptations, but those are usually RPG fantasy games with lots of plot and action (I'm thinking of the Tales games). PW would be classified as a visual novel I guess. And while a lot of other visual novels have been turned into anime (Air, Clannad etc), PW doesn't have that moe appeal that sells.
Capcom will probably make a lot of money from an anime series, including all the merch that comes with it. However, I think they haven't done so yet could be because it's not very adaptable, or at least not easily adapted that will make fans happy.
But who knows, maybe if fans are loud enough, it might happen some day.

I think what Yaragorm meant was one of those cheesy Hollywood live action video game films where the creators have barely touched the game and are more focused on making money then if their product is like the content it's based on, ala. Street Fighter the Movie, The Super Mario Brothers Movie, etc. They meant it as a JOKE keep in mind. I capitalized "joke" because I know how hard that kind of thing is to process in someone's head as a joke... don't really know how capitalizing it makes it work, but it seems to 78% of the time.

Maybe the comment about Japanese cast meant that it'd be kind of weird to see someone like Hugh Jackman as Phoenix. :D Though I do admit he'd make a great Will Powers.
