IMO, the worst thing is when you try and talk about something that's not related to the garbage that the general populace seem to love, and they look at you like you're mentally damaged.

Believe me, he meant that bit as a compliment, especially since I've been val. for 2 years straight, but still. That was.. slightly awkward. And it happened more than once.

I get in this kind of situation quite a lot. Quite often in my school, someone calls someone out for being a 'nerd,' I try and defend them, and the inevitable response will be, 'But that's because you're a genius!' or something similar. I believe the reason I'm usually not the target for these kind of things is because, in my class, myself and a few others usually help some of the students understand math problems, language etc. and I seem to be the only one who can explain these things in a way they understand, which has essentially given me a 'bullying shield.' But then again, we don't really have any form of real 'bullying' just people thinking they're joking around.

I found this book called "Japanese Street Slang", and it... is the dirtiest book I've ever seen.

Some guy made it because he wanted to prove that there were curse words in Japanese.

You think ONE experience is bad? My neighborhood has crazies like that all the time. Heck, my GRANDMOTHER'S home is within walking distance of the local insane-minority hang-out.

Just goes to show you the power of P.O.V.

I was passing out pamphlet thingies at a pre-graduation ceremony for my high school just the other day. Hardly anybody was there yet, so my friend and I were talking about stuff. Somehow it turned to our yearbook pictures. Mind you, I've never liked how I look in pictures. This year was no different; my facial features looked way smaller than normal. So I'm standing there, laughing about it, and as I mention the fact that it looks like my face shrank, my friend suddenly stops and just looks a few feet from where I am.
"What?"
-grin-
So I look. And standing there, staring at me like I'm a lunatic, is some guy decked out in Marine uniform. After maybe 5 seconds of awkward silence, I just waved at him.
:udgy: : "Next time, warn me before I walk past one of your conversations."
:lana: : Oh boy.

It took me ages to think of it, but I finally know what scarred me the most.

Those videos of Al-Qaeda terrorists beheading their hostages (who are alive) with a butterknife. Throat first, spine last.

I think I almost threw up. The fact there was not as much as I expected made the slow sawing even worse. And the sounds the victim made have been galvanised into my mind.

... brb throwing up.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn?

Goatse is one of the most recent ones I can think of, I cringed a little

I read the KH doujinshi Colorful Sky with a friend of mine via IM..we both felt really bad

Every once in a while she comes across real shotacon and shows me some of it, and I die a little on the inside

Oh yes, and of course, the furry porn, what the hell

Yeah, that's pretty fucked up. It's one thing to have a quick death, but stuff like that makes me shudder, simply because of the cruelty.

It's like when people eat the brain of a living, breathing monkey. Or just eat anything while it's still living. It may just be an animal, but it's still cruel.

I saw something like him a few days ago. D= I woke up in the middle of the night and saw this really tall, thin man standing on the edge of my bed. When I blinked, he was gone and only my balloons from graduation were there. I couldn't have just mistaken the balloons as him since he was so thin and the balloons were FAT. Scared the hell out of me. I don't think I slept that night. And I also saw something like that walk down the hallway when I was sleeping on my aunt's couch. The worst part about that incident was the fact that it wasn't just a hazy, quick sighting. I actually saw a non-transparent body slowly walk by, but when I looked afterwards, no one was there. Everyone was in bed. DX Does that mean I'm going to go missing too...?

I've had similar experiences, when I was much younger. When I was a small child, I stayed with my grandmother a lot. I was also a bit of an insomniac, (still am) and several times I had seen dark, tall, possibly suited men. Keep in mind my grandmother is a widow. I kinda dismissed it when I was older, but now stuff like this is making me think...

Cruelty to a living being is never good be it human or animal or plant- I can't imagine how it used to be OK in the dark ages before civilisation dawned on people, looking at those torture devices makes me wonder how humans beings can be so cruel. Because back in medieval times, there was no court system and most things were run by the church or the king I believe

They had to find some way to punish/try criminals

Oh yes, I remember hostage beheading videos... I haven't seen very many, but the Berg video was enough. It was in that video where I first heard the phrase "Allahu akbar" properly pronounced. I was in a journalism class when one of my classmates downloaded it and began playing it just before class. The professor flipped out.

When it comes to the paranormal, one could say that I fall somewhere in the middle. I'm highly skeptical of the idea that the spirits of the dead roam the earth, but I firmly believe that there are spirits that roam the earth. In short, I tend to think that people who think they see ghosts are probably seeing demons. For example, a demon might very well assume the appearance of a dead relative for purposes of deception--having once been angels, they should find imitating a human sinfully easy--and of course, one wouldn't be above manifesting itself to sensitive humans simply to terrify. That reminds me: As a young teenager, I was pining after a girl I had recently developed a crush on and staring at the clock when my perception changed. The hands on the clock seemed to slow down, the clock itself seemed to bend and stretch, and out of the corner of my eye, I half-saw a dark hole forming in the floor. I don't think I clearly saw what was in it, but I remember the strong feeling that something unpleasant was rising within it. Call me superstitious if you like, but I started praying. Gradually the hole closed and my vision returned to normal. I never focused that hard on a remembered image again.

When I was young, I had a Halloween birthday party thing [since my birthday is in October] and my dad took pictures there. In one of the pictures of me opening my presents in front of the TV, the TV was off at the time, but someone's reflection was in it, looking down at me. No one at the party was dressed like that or looked like that at all. In fact, the lady's reflection looked a LOT like my dead grandmother. :beef: I certainly hope she wasn't a demon. *SCARRED FOR LIFE*

It's hard to say. I'd have to see the picture myself before I could offer an opinion--it might just be a trick of the light or something--but even if a demon was caught on camera, the image, like a voodoo curse, has only as much power as you give it. As long as you don't meditate on it, it shouldn't be able to contact you through the photograph. For some examples of what I would consider pictures likely to have captured a demonic presence, I would refer you to certain pictures of Rasputin--I'm almost 100% certain that he was possessed and those photographs are some of the evidence. I could scan them...

I'm not into all the spiritual and paranormal stuff. I've too much of a faith in science to concede myself to something with only questionable images and video that can be easily explained through analysis. I believe it's all a trick of the mind- the more you want to see or hear it, the more you do. I've never personally experienced anything to give me a belief in any sort of seperate world demons and ghosts exist in, and that they can pierce between realities (not dimensions. Dimensions and realities are completely different. Except, maybe, the 5th dimension.)

Good for you, but Slender man is fake anyway (never heard of the other one).

But something doesn't have to be real to creep someone out.

Wasn't The Rake essentially Slender before Slender was Slender? (What with all the fake notes, writings, stories, etc.)

And yeah, Slender Man is creepy, just, y'know, something stemmed from a forum who's only other real export is LP.

I just read that thing on The Rake. Creepy stuff and very like Slender Man. Slender Man is WAY scarier though, I can't bring myself to even watch rest of the vids ;O;

WHOOP! Can't believe I actually remembered The Rake. And as for Slender Man, are you referring to the 'marble hornets' videos?

I put most of my faith in science as well, but there's plenty of proof behind the paranormal. Not necessarily DEFINITIVE proof yet, but I'm sure it'll come someday. I am very open to what spirits could possibly be, so to me right now, it's just something that science cannot yet explain so I'll just take a guess for now, but it will be explained in one way or another in the future. I don't believe in tales like the Slender Man and stuff [despite my own experiences. I really think it was just me be tired and not thinking straight, but either way, it was still scary.], and my belief in spirits is actually more like manifestations of the human mind. I don't think it's a 'trick of the mind' as you said, but I do agree that the more you want to see and hear it, the more it happens. That's why children are so much more susceptible to spiritual phenomenons. It's only because their mind is far less skeptical and they're willing to believe anything they can see or hear. I think spirits and ghosts are the physical manifestation of the memories and feelings of the person the figure resembles, either brought on by the memories of a living person, or like an imprint of their existence in that place that was left by their strong will to stay on earth after they died for whatever reason. I'm really not sure about demons and stuff like that [I do believe in evil spirits however, basically my explanation above, but, y'know, from an evil person] and I'm not a very religious person [not a an atheist or anything though].

Kinda back on topic-ish: Someone in my math class two years ago finding a used condom and blowing it up like a balloon. I gagged so bad from watching that...

I understand people believing in spirits and the paranormal, so I have to respect your explanantion.

I, however, am pure atheist and science-driven, and I also have straight priorities which can only be overruled with clear, which completely stands up to examination and scientific analysis. It sounds cold and sad, but I couldn't feel better about myself. Feels... professional. To me, anyway.
