Um, not sure if the message is getting across:

The version here: http://pywright.dawnsoft.org/updates3/games/PW%20-%20The%20Contempt%20of%20Court.zip or from PyWright download games and content already contains .ogg files instead of .mp3, as well as all of the code changes that needs. If it is not working, let me know.

Yeah, you ask him that question when you bump into him in Grossberg's office.
It was revenge for convicting his mentor Manfred von Karma (why does he care so much about his mentor? That will be answered soon...). He was trying to get Nick convicted by making Snow cast suspicion on him. ...I know it's pretty lame, but I couldn't be bothered to write out the Snow encounter.

So far I think this game is really well done. Except now I'm stuck.
Spoiler:
I'm on Krump's first testimony in the past case. I've gotten Vex a penalty (awesome moment :godot: ) and I've done the footprint contradiction. But now I can't find anything else.

Other than just possibly me being stupid now(which is possible) this is a great case.

Yeah, I put way too many contradictions in Snow and Krump's testimonies :\
This is what else to do (to the best of my recollection):
Spoiler:
Press the last statement.

And thanks, it's always great to know that it's being enjoyed! :garyuu:

EDIT: Slight update to the story of The Haunted Turnabout:
Greisen is no longer a "vigilante detective". He is a legal detective, but this isn't his case despite his interruptions. There are rumours about him circulating around the precinct such as the fact that he appeared from nowhere, etc.

Well I wouldn't say you put too many in, it just shows the case isn't as clear cut as it seems. Although now I think I ran into a bug, maybe.

Spoiler:
Pressing the last statement does offer some new info, but it doesn't get added to the testimony. I can tell what should be added, but it doesn't get added in. :yogi: All Vinnie comments on, is what Vex mentioned.

About the gorge being in darkness? That doesn't need to be added to the testimony, pressing it is just fine.
You need to do that as well as press the statement about "Give it back", and point out the footprint contradiction.

Spoiler:
OK, I finally found the last contradiction. It has to do with what Krump says about Crane being shoved in the chest and the scrap of cloth being torn. :beef: I should've caught that sooner given how much they talk about it in the testimony before hand. Now I can enjoy the rest of the case :will:

I'm playing the first case. It's great so far. I ran into a bug though...

I'm up to the part in the first case (Scapegoat) where I can finally meet the suspect in the detention center for the first time. However, when I tried to go there the game froze up and said something about "typewriter.wav" not working... even though the sound was working in all the other instances. So now I can't get past this part because of that.

Is your PyWright version 0.976?
The bugs many people report are so because they're playing with an older version. Would be a good idea to update it to 0.976.

Hmm... now I'm stuck on Titus' first testimony... I pressed pretty much everything. Everything seems to fit with what he says though except the part about being too far to hear anything, but it was covered in the press... and the part about stumbling... which was also covered.

EDIT: Aaaaah, nevermind, just got it. I was just staring at one of the statements when all of a sudden it hit me like lightning.

Great game but I'm having a problem with the 2nd investigation

Spoiler:
Jake has just arrested Titus and Snow said he needs more time to complete the blood analysis on the chair. I've talked to Snow, Vinnie, and Brisbane about everything but I can't seem to go any further. I have been prompted to find something that links Vinnie's scar with Redd White but have been unable to find anything. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Cardy, I've got three questions for you.

Spoiler:
1. How come in the end, you didn't use the Young!Vulper sprites despite having them in the Art folder? I was curious to see what you had planned but they never showed up.

2. Why is White's profile in evidence.txt when (to my knowledge of the first version) is never added to the Profiles section of the Court Record.

3. This one I don't really remember well but didn't you say a long time ago that the "piece of cloth" or some other piece of evidence would be explained in the final part of Scapegoat? I thought it was the piece of cloth and you were going to explain how it was really ripped or something like that. Maybe I'm thinking of something else... :/

Spoiler:
1. I meant to use them in a flashback, but I scrapped it at the last minute.
2. Again, I meant to use it in the game but never found a good reason.
3. The cloth was the fabricated evidence of DT-2. In fact I was going to explain the circumstances surrounding the evidence (why Vulper didn't take the enigmium before the police arrived, why he tore the sleeve, etc.) but never found the right part of the script to add it to. And as a result it was forgotten. :payne:
Maybe when I get round to updating the chapter, I'll add these explanations. Thanks for pointing them out.

I just wanted to say, I downloaded this game today, and I LOVE IT. Vulper is love. Much, much love. I must do fanart sometime. =]

Oh, but there was one concern. When I got to the first psycho-lock, I didn't have the

yet. So, I went back to Jake to see what I missed, and when I talked to him, all three points were checkmarked. :/ I got confused, and it took me forever to realize that I hadn't talked to him about everything yet.

But thank you for including the scripts in the file. I cheated because I was stuck at that part. ._.

Because you need to talk to him AFTER you do so, most people have been confused because of the checkmark. Glad you got past it though.

Spoiler: checkmark
Just a handy PyWright tip: You can use "forgetlist" to clear the checkmarks from a specific list. Example:

Code:
list jake
blah
....

later:
forgetlist jake

Also, if the 2 lists are actually in different places in the code, you can make sure they are unique to the player by simply giving them different names:
Code:
list jake1

list jake2

Probably ought to fix in the next version, I recall being stuck for a similar reason.

M'kay, I'm nearly finished! And I must say, I love Vex more now >_> If that was possible. Px This really is an addicting game. XD

I know this sounds like a kink meme request, but someone should write a fic about Erol trying to kill Vex, and Phoenix intervening. That would win the internet. :3

EDIT: Just finished it. Fantastic job. It would take me years to map out the kinds of details you prepared with that case...xD
One thing though. I kept waiting for it to come up, but it never did. What did Vex want to say to Phoenix? At one point, during the cross-examination, Vex asked Phoenix why he's still defending Vinnie. Phoenix said because he's innocent, and Vex then said he wanted to have a chat with Phoenix later. What was he going to say?

Aha thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I really did think it up as I went along, dunno what the hell I was thinking but I suppose I just got lucky. XD
Oh about Vulper's "talk"... Sorry to disappoint you but it was nothing really, just filler while the Judge searched for a pen... You're right though, I suppose I should have added meaning to that bit of chatter, I just couldn't think. :payne:

Ah, okay. It just stuck out of me, for some reason. I thought it held some sort of significance. XD
