This bothers me every time I go through 1-5 is Meekins and his general timeline. You see Meekins try to give the report to Edgeworth, and yet he says that he saw a suspicious man (Marshall), fought with him, and then woke up in the detention center. Obviously this was on the day of the crime.....So what, did Meekins get taken into the detention center on suspicion of murder, released to give Edgey a report, and then get re-captured? >_> Or am I forgetting something?

Gant didn't said the police force captured the suspect of the locker room later than the first trial?
I'm pretty sure of that.

That can explain pretty well:
Meekins gave Edgeworth the report, then when on-court revealed there was two crime scenes, the police just caught the usual suspect...
We don't know if Meekins is inventing or lying anyways. He's so random...

Problems with that:

-Again, what Meekins said about blacking out then winding up in the Detention Center. Of course he could be lying/misremembering. But...

-The general order of events. He obviously does pass out, as seen by the video. Well given the fact that he's in the police station surrounded by blood, I somehow doubt that his unconscious body went unnoticed. I'd go so far as to say that Marshall might have turned him in himself after returning to his office.

-If nothing else, someone would have noticed the security footage...Or the blood all over Meekins...And turned him in before he was allowed to try to hand that report to Edgeworth.

IMO it's a developer oversight. Honestly I can't think of a reasonable explanation as to how someone can be lying unconscious in the police station for hours while covered in blood and be allowed to leave, then later recaptured for X reason. Especially given that he admits to being caught right after the fight anyway.

So, after mostly beating the case (again), Meekins' timeline goes:

-Moves Blue Badger into the evidence room (4:50)
-Walks in on Marshall, asks for ID. (5:14)
-Has the fight, gets knocked out.
-Later, is woken up by "a colleague"
-Possible time of arrest 1 (Meekins claimed he woke up in the Detention Center)
-Removes Blue Badger from evidence room after waking up.
-Possible time of arrest 2 (large quantities of blood found near him would lead to suspicion anyway)
-Leaves
-Next day, gives report to Edgeworth
-Possible time of arrest 3 (Gant's statement about just managing to arrest the suspect)

However, it would make no sense for him to be arrested the day after this all went down...If someone was found in the police department covered in blood, the security tapes would be checked right away, and then an arrest would be made then.

Basically, Meekins' entire timeline is pretty much a giant contradiction. Basic logic & his own statements point to him being arrested soon after being found, while some of his later statements & Gant's statement point to him being arrested at a later point.
