I'm really digging some of the tracks from the new Layton game. But that should go without saying, Level-5 makes the best music of pretty much any game company around.

Yeah, nice pieces of music. Especially ones like the Main Theme or Puzzle Battle.

I'd say my favorite soundtracks from games are from the Trauma Center Series, pretty much the whole Phoenix Wright series, Final Fantasies IV, XII, and XIII, Eternal Poison, and Ephemeral Fantasia. :violin:

Awesome Music next to PW? Easy.
Golden Sun and Rayman 1
Which is uber scary because Rayman 1 was DOS and so much ahead of its time... if you don't know it you should really go and check out that soundtrack...

This would be one of my fav tracks and it really was like that in-game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz8cV6tHMSk

VGMs are just great! They're pretty much underrated, though.
Most people frown when I tell them that the music folders inside my phone and MP3 consist of 90% VGM XD

Some of my favorite ones would be from:

Ace Attorney, duh :redd: I love listening to the jazz/orchestra/Cadenza arrangements before going to sleep.
Hotel Dusk (I should start looking for Last Window music as well~)
Trauma Team...the slow tracks make for great lullabies, too.
Megaman series...mainly Zero.
Musashiden II Blademaster (I can't remember the English title for this game...)
The World Ends with You
Kingdom Hearts
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva (does that count? XD)
...etc.

If I continue on, it would probably take forever, so... :shoe:

Professor Layton music is an easy one.

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver has a better soundtrack than Black/White, but BW still has good music.

And then you have GK2 which is an easy one. Logic Chess will always have a place in my heart.

Agreed. Deserves more love, the Nippon Ichi games soundtrack. But also, some Gust games like Mana Khemia (Nefertiti, Future of Dreams) and Ar Tonelico (someone mentioned it, already. Great. o-o)

What I didn't find was Touhou music... is this because it is unknown? Hum.

When I was little, I stole my cousin's FFX soundtrack and listened to it nonstop. It's one of my favorite game soundtracks.

But I love the Tertis theme A. My mom has it on magic piano an I play it all the time. She also has theme b, 2 Mario themes, legend of Zelda theme, and the FF prelude.

My favorite video game soundtrack of all time is probably either Beyond Good and Evil. The guy who wrote that is a genius.

I have to admit, even though I love Minecraft, I FUCKING HATE the music. It gives me the chills. Enough to make me mute every time I log on. I got to the point where I actually changed the music files. And it was NOT easy finding a .wav to .ogg converter...

I love VG music. I would definitely consider it its own genre. There's absolutely nothing like it. I've got...SOOOO many files of video game music on my mp3. It's crazy. I've liked at least one piece of sound track from almost every video game I've played. So of course I'm going to add it to my playlist!
Some of the ones where I have more than 5 tracks on my playlist are:
-AA/JFA/T&T
-Ghost Trick
-Mirror's Edge
-Assassin's Creed 1/2/Brotherhood (THIS IS SOME OF MY FAVORITE MUSIC EVER)
-The Legend of Zelda (mostly WW and TP)
-Metal Gear

and well a bunch more that I'm too lazy to name! :D

Guess I should broaden my searches then, eh? I'm very specific when I search. And maybe disable the AVG Search Bar and it's antics.

Oh, there's definately more I'd add to my list, I had to stop myself from listing like two dozen songs. Pretty much all the hymns are amazing. I don't believe I've heard Sand of Time before, though I've only gotten Finnel's endings and the bad end so far. I take it Sand of Time is from one of the others?

I've always meant to check the Atelier series out but just never got around to it, is it comparable to AT?
