Same, I started with AJ. A friend of mine recommended the Ace Attorney series to me, but I couldn't get my hands on any of the old ones at the time, so I bought AJ, and then later bought (in order) T&T, AA, and JFA.

Well. It's a combination of my sister playing the game, Max Galactica, and 1-4 that got me hooked.

One day, my sister, who'd heard of this game and saw it in the store, decided to buy it. I curiously watched over her shoulder on occasion. I thought it looked pretty cool, but I didn't really have much of an interest in it at first.

Then, I saw Max in a PW fan flash she was watching. Considering the fact that I was not expecting something so...pink out of a seemingly realistic game was enough to make me curious. I started researching the game on my own, with my sister chiming in to answer questions. She explained the basics of the Fey Clan, Apollo, and Miles.

After some cajoling, I started the first game. I...kinda got bored of the first case, so I decided to start with something more exciting. Me, being...well, the naive me, decided to start with Turnabout Goodbyes.

That case really sealed the deal for me, and the rest is history. :redd:

I just saw a review in the ONM magazine and was all like, "wow that game looks funneh and entertaining".
Then I met someone (related to me somehow IDK) who let me play the first one for a bit, and therefore I got JFA for christmas (don't ask me about the logic of that).
And then i got hooked and live happily ever after :)

I bought Animal Crossing as my first DS game, and picked up a game mag whilst I was in the shop. Was reading it on the way home and PW was in it, as a new release and I thought "Oh, that sounds interestingly different, may have to try it sometime", then when I finally played Animal Crossing, I didn't like it, so I went back the next day and swapped for PW.

I think I played nonstop for those couple of days, I was just so addicted. I want to have that feeling again, of when you play an awesome game for the first time!

The last few days of summer of 2K10, my brother and my cousin were addicted to their DS. They bought lot of games and one day, I saw them playing Justice For All. They were stuck on the first case I don't really know how that was possible and I helped out. Then when we got a bit far into the second case, the game crashed and got corrupted!

Since we were all too lazy to replay, we just started on Trials and Tabulations and for me it was so much more interesting. Then after the first case, they got bored with it (they didn't have long attention spans after all) so I hogged it for myself. I spent the rest of the week finishing it.

Then I began on Ace Attorney, then Apollo Justice, then Justice for All and finally Miles Edgeworth.

I first became interested by my brother. He was helping me pass out candy on Halloween 2006. He was playing the 4th case to PW: AA. I was interested right away, he told me that he'd let me borrow it when he was done. It was a couple of days later when I finally got a chance to play, and immediately I was hooked. I took it everywhere, including to school, where I played it in my free time. All through out high school I played the AA series, and since then, I got so many people interested too, people would literally watch me when I was on the bus. I'm not sure why, but they loved it.

Spoiler: tl;dr
So, I was bored one day, and decided to Google for any cheap RPGs. I was looking for something in between Legacy of Goku and Pokemon. I read an article about "Seven must-have games this spring!" I saw that Trials and Tribulations was on there for Wiiware. It said it was a visual novel, and I thought "What the hell! I'll get it. I liked the Death Note games, and they're the same genre!" So I convinced my best friend to gift it to me, since it was released here in America on my birthday (Fuck yeah!). I started playing and, by the third testimony and third penalty, thought I was an expert. I thought that there were three cases, not three FILES. I beat case one and realised my mistakes. By the end of the game, I had missed so many references I literally punched myself later. Anyways, I bought JFA at Gamerz Haven, liked it, and bought the original AA, along with a special Ace Attorney watch. Later I was bored and looked up Godot quotes. I found good ol' C-R, and was linked to the Prosecutor's lobby. So Godot led me to not only every other AA game, but also to C-R. How sappy.

I really hadn't heard too much of the series until my freshman year of college, when my new best friend one day randomly started telling me about the series and how awesome it was. This particular conversation included spoilers as far as AJ. Anyway, I was eventually like "Sure, fine, sounds cool." I put it on my Christmas list, and spent the next week with my DS practically glued to my hands.

Pretty simple. I loved Visual Novels. I heard about a courtroom sort-of-VN coming out for DS near the end of 2006. I... actually bought my DS just for the first PW game. Which lead me to falling in love with the series and snatching up the rest of the games as they came out, along with other awesome stuff like Trace Memory and Hotel Dusk.

My dad bought back two games for free from his work; Lunar Knights and Justice for all.
I thought JFA looked a tad boring so I played Lunar Knights first of all, but I got to a hard part on that and started playing JFA. That cartridge didn't leave my DS until the game was finished 100%.

Then, I learnt it had a prequel and a sequel, and got both, for some reason playing T&T first, and then AA. So everything was kinda explained after that, such as 'who the hell is manfred?' and 'who is this edgeworth guy people keep talking about, and why does he appear at the end of Circus case?' that happened in JFA.

I played it because my brother played it and told me it was good. He found out about it because he saw a picture of Godot in Nintendo Power, and was interested. That's actually annoying, because it means that the fact that I know about Ace Attorney is owed to my least favorite character, Godot.

Friend bought Ace Attorney for me.

ALMOST didn't even care. I had no idea why I'd want to play this game...and then I did.

:wellington-crazy:

Ever since then I've been trying to get him to play the series. I don't know if he ever did, though I know he probably hasn't played more than maybe one or two of the games.

I wanted to see what this "Lawyer game where everyone shouts OBJECTION!" was all about, so I bought PW1. That was last year. I finished it within about a week... and then abandoned the series. PW1 works fine as a standalone game, and I almost didn't want to spoil that. Plus, I just thought to myself "the other two games will just be more of the same, right?" It wasn't until I saw the PWvPL trailer that I decided to pick up JFA and T&T. And I realised it's not the gameplay that makes these games so great (because let's face it, there isn't really much of it...) It's the characters and the stories.

Will probably leave it there though, since I don't actually have a 3DS and I'm not particularly interested in the AJ cast. Still on the fence about whether to play the Edgeworth game... I just feel like the original PW trilogy is great, it comes full circle by the end, and doesn't need anything else added to the canon. Hmm.....

I actually haven't seen the JPN box art.
But if it's as crowded as most JPN box arts are, then I doubt I would like it.

So, yeah, there was this 'Objection!" meme going around Deviant Art. I discovered it rooted in "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney". So, I looked at my DS, and thought:

"Bleh, why not?"

I got the game. And played it up to Case 2. Then, I skipped to JFA, and then came back and beat the first game. The rest was history, and now, I'm obsessed. I blame this place and all my fellow AA fans!

My aunt bought me Apollo Justice for Christmas when I was about 14 or 15, and I remember playing it and becoming addicted. But I was so annoyed when the whole Phoenix/Ema/fingerprint dust thing was never explained, I didn't LOL at the Steel Samurai DVDs Phoenix hoarded, I didn't even like Phoenix all that much, 'cause he was too damn cryptic, and -mutters the next bit guiltily- I thought the Perception bracelet was better than the Magatama. BUT THEN, I played the PW:AA, and I saw the error of my ways. So I guess it's all good now.

I was seriously considering becoming a lawyer, more specifically, a public prosecutor. I took a Law course in school and went to court with my class to see some matters dealt with and really enjoyed myself. The judge had an excellent sense of humor and the cases were interesting to listen to.

With the constant thought of lawyers in my head whilst I was trying to cement a decision to pursue a career in a law, I remembered Phoenix Wright and how I'd always wanted to try it but never got the chance. I took that chance up, and found myself adoring the game beyond all expectations.

So here I am now. Viola.

I first got interested in Ace Attorney through the Objection! website. I forgot when that was, but it was a couple years ago. I thought the character designs looked cool and the concept was interesting. Even back then before I played the games, I thought Edgeworth, Franziska, and Godot were the coolest characters from messing around with the site, and they still are to this day. Despite my interest in the series, I never did read up on it or had the chance to play the DS games.

So fast forward a couple years, to the beginning of this year to be exact. I'm in the middle of my second semester of college now, and one weekend in February or March, I think it was? I turn on my Wii and I'm scrolling through the Virtual Console for something interesting. Then I found out Ace Attorney is on the Virtual Console. So I say cool, I've always wanted to play these, I might just buy it. But because I don't like to spend money, I gave it some consideration, said "What the hell" and bought Ace Attorney 1. Playing through the first game, I was hooked instantly. The story, script, characters, and music were incredible, and the courtroom gameplay is addictive. I loved playing the game from beginning to end. Along the way, I found this site and a wikia for Ace Attorney and ended up spoiling myself by reading about characters because I was so interested in the series, but I didn't care. I still loved it. After I finished the first game, I bought Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations shortly afterwards. I can't remember the exact dates, but I probably just beat Justice for All in May, and finished Trials and Tribulations this past June. I got my older cousin interested into the series when I was on Easter break after I showed her the first three trials in AA1, so she ended up getting Ace Attorney Investigations. So after I got out from school and when she beat it, she gave it to me play, and I just beat that last month.

I haven't beaten Apollo Justice yet because I didn't have access to it, but I said forget it and just downloaded a ROM to play it. I'm in the middle of the first case now.

My tale begins with at the movie theater, 5 years ago when I was 11. My sister, my mom, and I would often frequent the movies Saturday afternoons, and my sister and I would frequent the Gamestop afterwards. Most of the time we would just browse, occasionally trying out the console display they had. But one day, while looking through the used game rack, my sister spies a strange game for only $20. She wanted it, but I protested. Lawyers? What idiot though lawyers could ever make an interesting video game? However, she was slightly bigger than me at the time, and that had to count for something in the land of sisterhood, so we bought it.

Following that faithful day has been an not-too-unhealthy obsession with all things Ace Attorney. This also led me to Professor Layton because it was only through rave reviews by Ace Attorney players that I ever picked up a game that once upon a time looked so lame to me. ( :pealshock: Le gasp!) I cannot thank the Ace Attorney series enough for all the joy and laughter it has brought me, but also the sadness and tears because it taught me how to care deeply about a set of characters and, in turn, become a better writer of my own.

Well, I played AA:JFA first. The whole idea of AA seemed cool in general! I played it and then I was totally hooked because first...Phoenix is extremely appealing, second, the game play was totally awesome and I loved how to do things in court, third, Edgeworth is totally awesome, fourth, the story line was so cool and fifth, I could relate to Maya's family! Oh and sixth...I'm a total Maya/Nick shipper so I wanted to see how their relationship was in the other games!

Man, that parody. I saw it long before I started playing the games and now some of those voices are stuck in my head... Especially for Godot. I think the "gravelly drunkard" really fits him.

A friend randomly bought the first two games for me. I was hooked almost immediately. I played them straight through and went out to get Trials and Tribulations ASAP. Now I preach the gospel of Ace Attorney to all who will listen, haha.

I saw the Phoenix Wrong series in early stages of its popularity (on Newgrounds where it started, Youtube barely existed). A few years later I began watching some of the cases on Youtube and thought the story and characters were very deep, far more than simple sprites to be mocked. So I watched all the cases of the first four games, then I bought Ace Attorney Investigations, about a year ago. It's the only game in the series I actually have, but if AAI2 is released here I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

I don't think I've witnessed a game better written than this one. :udgy:

My brother started playing the first game for about one far ago on WiiWare. I had seen a lot of Objection parodies on the internet, and wasn't really interested in this 'Objection-dude'. But after watching my brother play 1-4, my reaction went from "Meh. Looks boring." to "Oh my god this is the best game ever that guy has a pink suit he's probably gay oh man oh god".
Then I watched my brother play JFA, but T&T hadn't came out yet so while we were waiting for that I started to play the first game.
And then we bought T&T and blahblahblah. I've been lurking this site for one year, but I decided to join now.

Mine is a relatively short story.

For as long as I can remember, I've been literally obsessed with reading. Thus, when the wonderful world of digital entertainment entered my life, I became a HUGE fan of visual novel games.

By the time the AA series caught my attention, it had already been out for a good while and there were lots of buzz going on about it. I said, "What the hell, a game about a lawyer? This I have to see for myself!", and so borrowed the first one from a friend. I quickly noticed it played half like a visual novel, half like a point-and-click adventure game, so I instantly fell in love with it. Got it for myself the very next week, even if to this day I don't own a DS. :V

It all went downhill from there. xD

To begin, I'll admit that I am not a long-time fan of the series. I first learned of the series' existence about a year ago.

I'd also like to say, it was pure chance that I discovered the series. Until I learned about it, I played nothing but Sonic and Mario and Pokemon. In fact, if I'd discovered the series any other way, I don't think I'd be here right now.

But, enough of this. Let's just get to the story.

Okay, on my thirteenth birthday, I was given an iPhone, which was also the first connection I had to the Internet in years. For the first few days, I never used it. But one day, I got bored, and decided to look up an old webseries I used to watch. I went on YouTube, and started watching related videos. Then, in a miraculous twist, while I was watching Sonic videos, I discovered a video called "Tails abuse in Court". I love Tails, but I had to know what it was.

When I watched it, I saw something I didn't expect to see... A fan-made series about Sonic and a series about a LAWYER crossing over.

I'll be honest: I felt somewhat tempted to quit the video. But then I saw a Sonic character, and decided I'd sit through it.

I did NOT regret it.

After it was over, I started wondering, "... Who is this 'Phoenix Wright' guy...?"

I looked it up, and read great things about it.

I probably wouldn't have ever played it... Had I not read that it was available for iPhone.

I had installous, so I could get it for free, so I decided to give it a try.

... And I think the rest can explain itself.

I am so much of a fanboy that I can now name every character, almost every case, can perform a perfect impression of a lot of the characters, and have completely annoyed and stumped my parents by talking about it.

The only downside...? It isn't very well known where I live... It's enough to make a fanboy cry...
