Was just looking through the contradictions section when I came upon the issue of Phoenix talking to Matt in the detention center.

Its stated that anything said to Matt would be attorney/client privilege. However there are problems with this on two levels.

1. Privilege can only be used for "secret" conversations. If someone else is in the room, even if they may or may not be asleep it is not "secret."

2. A police officer would NEVER be allowed in the room when a defendant is talking to his attorney. The very existence of that police officer in the detention center is ludicrous considering what the detention center represents in the GS universe. (a place where defendants and their attorneys talk)

Just a thought I had while reading. Wanna use this law degree for SOMETHING!

That guard in the detention center is actually a wax dummy.

That explains A LOT.

(If I were the guard and the teenage-girl prisoner turned into a beautiful, young, buxom lady before my eyes, I'd go call my superiors...)

If I were the guard and I heard half the conversations in there, I think Phoenix would've had VERY bad luck. IT'S A WAX DUMMY CAUSE NOBODY CAN STAND THAT STILL FOR HOURS ON END WHILE I TRY TO INTERROGATE THOSE WEIRD DEFENDANTS.

Professor Layton & The Lost Future. Best game ever.

I live everywhere and nowhere, usually as Kumori. My YouTube is 'WoodULikeSumCatFood', shamelessly ripped from a friend of mine.

Furthermore, attorney-client privilege doesn't apply to :pearl: . However, even if the courts trusted a somewhat biased and shaken-up eight year old as a witness and even if she could testify without putting Maya in danger, Phoenix would never let Pearl put herself at risk for retaliation. So I can understand why Engarde wasn't afraid to let her hear.
