Les Miserables: 9.5/10.

Only complaint was that it ran for a little too long. They introduced a new set of characters nearly three hours into the movie and I was getting tired. I should add that the whole movie was in song, the dialogue included. Otherwise... the singing itself was brilliant. There was a lot of raw emotion and I cried a lot. Anne Hathaway obviously deserves an award, even though I initially wanted Fantine to be played by Susan Boyle. Lastly, I thought Sascha Baron Cohen was perfect as Thernardier. xD Loved 'The Master of the House'.

Les Miserables: 3/10

As a self-proclaimed film buff, and a veteran of performing in this show, I wanted to give it less, but it did have SOME merits. Just not many. Dreadful cinematography, it takes already the lacking character development and truncates it even further. The casting choices were the most confusing of all, and I'm not talking Russell Crowe (although he wasn't the best, I didn't think he was dreadful). Hugh Jackman does not have the vocal range for Valjean. That's all. He covers it well towards the beginning of the film by speaking where some of the notes go very high, but when you get to Bring Him Home and he's walking around shouty-belt-singing the whole thing, you really lose all the emotional impact the song has.

Amanda Seyfried's voice was insanely grating (though, so is the character of Cosette, so I suppose it applies), Anne Hathaway was one of the few bright spots in this movie, the Thenardiers were perfect (and Cohen even used a FRENCH ACCENT, practically unheard of for this musical), Eddie Redmayne was alright--nothing outstanding, but certainly better than Jackman. The real unsung hero of this production was Aaron Tveit. Of course, I'm a little biased, as Tveit is one of my favorite stage actors, but for this role (even how cut to hell it was) he really shined.

My mantra with Les Miserables--and I love this show, even through its numerous flaws--is that the only reason people come to see it is for the Second Act, with the student revolution. Truly, this is the only part of the movie that disappoints little. Yes the libretto in this section is butchered (in favor of some of the other more melodramatic parts, no less) but it is still the best part of the film. The action sequences are, for the most part, well shot and choreographed, and the students are the best performers in the film. Plus when it comes down to the final battle, there is no part that has more emotional impact than when the French army breaks through the barricade.

Great animation made by Sony. When I watched the movie I kind of thought it was similar to Tangled but it wasn't too similar. I don't have much to complain about this movie, well except maybe the comic relief in the climax of the movie made it hard to take the serious parts seriously. And some hardcore adults may find this movie too childish, but there are a few dirty jokes in this movie. If you still have your inner child, watch this. It was a very fun and touching movie.

Pitch Perfect, 8.5/10

When I first watched this movie, I thought 'oh no not another shitty musicial' - but it was completely the opposite. Sure, it's a movie which involves a lot of music but it is not a musicial, in fact there are a lot of people who dance and sing. The only thing I really didn't like was the blonde botch from this group of female singers. She thinks that she's the boss over everything and everyone and that really pissed me off. Also, who the hell pukes during singing a song!? That was something I never really understood. Apart from that, the movie was absolutely good and I would watch it again if I have the chance to. :3

The beginning was quite fun, just with all the ups and downs
But suddenly, we’re tired, from a waste of meaningless emotions

Completely hilarious. Very gory though and I wouldn't say it was one of Tarantino's bests BUT I did really enjoy it. Very much looking forward to having it on DVD. Oh and usually Tarantino's cameo roles annoy me because the man just cannot act, but actually he isn't bad as the Australian (sometimes British) cowboy. I love westerns and this is a real funny one :jake:

The Pebble and the Penguin 8/10

I like how this movie plays out like an animated broadway musical, but at the same time it also plays out like a children's storybook making the story predictable and generic. But the songs and voice acting were great. I thought this movie would be a nice love story, and it was, but at one point the movie focused more on Hubie's relationship with Rocko, I seriously thought there was something going on with those two because of that, if you get what I mean. And lastly, the animation is beautiful and full of life.

So, it's not my favorite animated movie, but I really wish this movie could turn into a real Broadway musical.

It was a good movie overall, however I found it predictable at times and the way most of the characters were treating Bond. It was as if he was the greatest man on Earth. He has to go to the field because he's James Bond and you must take his advice because he knows best. Ugh, I could not stand his character.

I felt that the movie was overrated as well. When it came out EVERYBODY was talking about James Bond. It was on Itunes, on advertisements, on the news. By the time I saw it I was totally fed up.

Anyway, It was alright. :pearl:

Goal! II: Living The Dream: 8,5/10

Never got around to watch it when it came out in 2005. Eight years later, I cleared that mistake, and boy was I missing out on some nice stuff. In-pitch moments are still very well-made and real, but it kinda irritates me how they make Santiago score only godlike goals instead of, say, a lucky shoulder rebound. The off-pitch moments and his ups and downs, especially his family resolutions, are the emotional, charming points of the movie. Also, kudos for the appearance of more than 20 licensed players like Zidane and Ronaldo.

All in all, awesome movie: even for non-soccer fans.

Can somebody tell me what this is about?
I constantly see the trailer at work and from what I get from it, it's this...
It focuses on an ex-soldier or so who is wanted by the guards and there's apparently a revolution going on. However, we also focus on this woman and her kid, then we have a time skip and the kid is all grown up and apparently her name is Corsette (seriously, that's what it sounds like) and somehow, it suddenly turns into a love story between Corsette and this random-ass guy who just appears out of nowhere.
And once again we're back at the revolution.

It seems like the plot is all over the map and can't decide on what to focus on.

Donnie Brasco - 7/10

I watched it for the first time last night (on a bit of a Michael Madsen kick at the mo). I enjoyed it, I like the few gangster films I've seen, but this one just felt like the ending came too quickly even though it was about 2 hours long.

I love Johnny Depp, he's a great actor and was great in this but I can't help but think that they should have used someone more real looking to play Donnie because Johnny's face is too perfect.

This week I decided to have an Avatar the Last Airbender marathon,
which I...not sure whyyyy...decided to end with the M. Night Shyamalans movie.
So....here we go.

The Last Aribender ~ 4.2/10

Okay; let me start saying that I'm actually delighted to see how much, unlike some other license movies, this one really seemed like an actual movie of the source material.
The effects look really nice and the story goes on fast....which I'll come back to in a sec.
Now...the BAD things in this movie....yyyyyyyeah...It was too ambitious of them to try to sum the whole first season in ~2h movie to begin with.
And the movie suffers a lot from that. I'm sorry, but it does. The first hour of the movie the sotry goes fast but...still not....like...at all...
Let me put it this way; a LOT of **it happens and with great speed but....nothing that would, like, make the story progress like it should.
Now granted, lot of the TV serie itself is like that, many episodes of adventures and an actual plot behind there somewhere, but that is not how it's suposed to go with a movie.
It worked with LotR but that's what I'm talking about here....This movie NEEDS the rest two books, earth and fire, to have any real payoff...but sadly....as a standalone film it seems to stay...not working.

The actors in this movie are...well hit or miss IMO. And I want to be sure this is just MY oppinion but...
Everyone is so...gloomy and negative in this. Now okay; it's the war and the end of the world in for of Fire Nation is happening at this rate, but...he god....
Aang is far too depressive to be Aang who just wants to play all the time and run from the destiny that's set for him over a 100 years ago already.
Sokka, the character who is supposed to be humoristic comedy relief, is far too serious and far too...all the time.
Katara is by far the best of team Avatar in this movie, but...even she can't seem to get it quite right. Katara is one of those kinda female lead characters that I actually think that work. You know...Not just pretty face and boobs, but in here....it's more like the face and boobs category again... Don't get me wrong here; Nicola is pretty good Katara, I'm not denying that, but just...not quite there.
Dev Patel as a Zuko is probably the best performance in the movie though....but then again I...can't really say is he just lucky he got Zuko or is it something else... I mean... He does excellent job as a "FEEL MY RAGE!!" -kinda Zuko that's still hunting for the Avatar, but...somehow I just can't see him performing that well in the book of Earth or Fire....But like I said; best in this movie.
And don't get me even started with some other actor choices...Shaun Toub as a uncle Iroh...? Hell; CLIFF CURTIS as the 'Demon from Hell' -kinda Firelord Ozai?!?!?!? Just...whatta....NO...!! Just...No-no-no-no-no-no-NO!!

Hhh...Moving on...Hmmm...oh, the fighting scenes...Definitely the thing I hated the most....I guess..
Okay, let's get this straight; in the show it was like one punch through the air equals destructive wind blow.
In this movie, one destructive wind blow equals ten seconds random hand wavering, three spin jump kicks and a kamehameha pose until it's done...
And that's what every fighting scene was like for me. Constant karate and judo movement with like one or two special effect.
H-h-h-h....the funniest/most saddest one for me was when they rescue the earthbenders and fight the fire nation soldiers; a group of earthbenderst stomp the ground, wave their hands for a while and make this HO-HA-HOOOH! yells all the time and then one rock, one lousy rock, flies slowly through the screen.
And of course, since this is an Avatar, there is constant fighting. Too bad I couldn't care less....

I think this is long enough and I don't want to be here all day just...**tching 'bout the movie that I had no high hope to begin with either.
The musical score is okay I guess, but that's also just pretty much it. Okay. Just like.... the rest of the movie. Just okay. And of course thee effects look nice, heck to be honest I was surprised to see Appa and Momo there. Two things that I would have thought they'd cut out as unneeded characters. Well okay, Appa had a moment or two in this movie but can you say same of Momo? ....Yeah; thought so.
Like I already said, it was ambitious, maybe bit too much, to make this as a movie while following the source closely (kudos for that though)
...To be honest; I wouldn't have minded if they took the time and affor to make this an hour longer. Give us more adventuring, explain what Aang is going through now that he has come back. Explain what the Fire Nation has done to other nations, show the bad state of the world. But most importantly; LET OUR MAIN CHARACTERS BOND. Give us something that makes US bond with the characters in this movie, and don't just go with; you guys liked them i the show; well here they are in this movie, NO! That's NOT how it goes.

Bottom line; if you haven't seen the show completely and have a change to choose...Don't take a shortcut with this movie, just watch those ~20h of the all three seasons instead.
...THEN feel free to see the movie, but let's make one thing perfectly clear now; this movie is not even close to the TV show.
This movie is kinda sad case really since with different hands...I actually feel like this could have gone...far better. And I would have wanted that because....Well no secret; I like all the adventure kinda things ad Avatar is pretty cool show.
...Nooooot to mention I also would have wanted this to succeed so we'd get to second book....and....you know...Toph. The tiny blind girl with attitude.
But yeah...that's pretty much all I have in mind for this movie ATM and I think it's more than enough but....yeah....

I watched The Last Airbender on a plane journey. Probably one of the few instances I'd prefer to have done NOTHING during a flight.

I just saw The Ace Attorney movie. It was...interesting! They made quite a few changes as part of the adaptation, most of which worked (von Karma as a more believable character, Redd White as a dirty-looking scumbag and Maya Fey significantly less annoying - and pretty cute FWIW - and finally Larry being Larry x1000) and some which didn't (Edgeworth's character turned into less of a scumbag in the beginning and less of a tortured soul in the end - as a result he didn't really have much of an impact IMO).

While Takeshi Miike did a good job recreating quite a bit of the hamminess and OTT from the original game, I honestly think he could have made it even more hammy and overdramatic. In particular I felt there were a few missed opportunities with regards to the soundtrack (I could barely hear it!) and the audience (erratically dressed but ultimately boring aside from the odd cowering...as such they didn't really emphasise the drama of it all as was done in the game) Also, I didn't like how Detective Gumshoe was portrayed in the end - he was too young and a total badass - but ultimately that's a personal preference.

Special mention to the portrayal of Yanni Yogi and the fleshing out of his backstory..and I know I said this already but Larry Butz was freaking outstanding: Definitely the highlight of the film for me.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10 considering it as a video game adaptation, and 9/10 as a stand-alone movie. Do watch if you haven't already. :yogi:

I really don't know how much you could really have asked of the audience considering how little they add in the main game. Though Gumshoe did look young and was pretty badass throughout I agree.

Though yeah Yanni Yogi's story sequence was amazing and Larry was doubly so. Was weird how serious and dramatic the film turned there.

Hmm....Dunno how but I still haven't seen the AA movie...I kinda...forgot it completely.
Sure; I've seen some clips here and there (like Project SilentSounds fandubs etc)
but I'm gonna watch it some of these days for sure.
...Kinda makes me mad a bit...About a half year ago I could have seen it in Finlands Love and Anarchy film festivals,
but didn't feel like taking a buss to our capital city....and now I'm mad... XD

I loved the AA film. I was a bit pissed off that they changed Mia's killer and that Gummy was pretty much a weed (compared to game Gummy anyway) but I got over it.

I'm glad it had a really happy ending because it got a bit heavy. I loved Ryo Ishibashi as von Karma, I recognised him from The Grudge and went straight to Google.

I'm too skeptical to watch the Ace Attorney movie. :(

As for The Last Airbender, I thought all the actors' performances sucked. The characters were barely similar to the animated versions. When it comes to Avatar: The Last Airbender, Katara was my least favorite character because she hogged all the screentime and I thought she was annoying. (Her motherly-ness and her random PMSing) But when I watched the live action movie, I actually missed the animated Katara. But the effects were nice.

For me, the actors' performances were even more forgettable than Kristian Stewart's potrayal of Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman.

I may just slap you if you willingly turn down an exceedingly rare opportunity to see this film because you are afraid it'll be ruined or not good enough as I'd think you mad.

It's a fantastic film great stuff for existing fans but according to my layman friend it's still a great film on it's own merits.

Sorry, but my opinion on movie adaptions of videogames has changed, I no longer consider them gifts from God ever since I watched Final Fantasy: Advent Children, and that Sonic the Hedgehog movie was...decent.

Pfft she looks older, that's one step towards making her look at least somewhat viable as a romantic interest for Phoenix.

Am I the only one who doesn't think the AA movie was that good? I did enjoy it, but that was mainly because I'm a fan of the series. There was too much going on in the movie and not enough character development, which is really important for the story.

It didn't really let me down or anything, so I still think it's worth a watch. However, it is nothing to get too excited for.

A little birdy gave me a link...

I guess I just expected the audience to make more of a racket. You know how in the AA games whenever a new ~crazy~ fact was unveiled or the like the audience would start chattering amongst itself? Maybe it's just me but I felt that added alot to the game.

I must be the only person on the planet who thought Advent Children was a decent film (and I never even saw the extended version or whatever)...

Don't listen to her! It's totally fine! Nothing wrong here!

Well sure you're entitled to your opinion but I didn't think there was too much to follow...especially considering I know the story.

Though YM from a lot of people I hear Advent Children is really popular...I just really hate how they regress Cloud's personality and then make it all about him sidelining the other characters in in tiny ways.

I never played FF7, however, in Advent Children, the FF7 cast was only put there to flash for the fanboys, the visuals are pretty but there are too many monotone colors, the battles were stylish but I never once felt on the edge of my seat. The characters were both bloody god mods and bloody canon sues, especially since Cloud got shot in the face and somehow survived. (Lawl!) And Tifa is powerful and then turns into a ditz that needs to be saved by someone.

The movie made me sleepy, I had no reason to care for the characters. So what if Cloud had a disease, he was doing fine on the battlefield. And for the love of God, he should've at least gotten over Aeris's death for the most part by now.

I would probably give the movie a 1/5...I'm not sure it's the best score though, I watched the movie when I was sixteen.

:no-no: Yes, somebody shot at Cloud's face but it hit his sunglasses and those were the only thing that got destroyed. Yeah those are some fucking sturdy sunglasses they made in Midgar!!

I keep trying to play VII and try to see what's so great about the game, but goddammit, that game is terrible! The only good characters that ever came out of it were Aerith and Zack. And I enjoy Crisis Core more than VII.... so only good thing about the AC movie for me was Aerith and Zack appearing briefly and being officially said to be reunited in the Lifestream.
On the off-topic notice about VII, I never saw much of a love triangle going on. Aerith liked Cloud at the beginning cause he reminded her of Zack, but then cools off pretty fast. And Cloud not getting over her death after two years? Well... it was sort of a traumatic experience I guess (I dunno, I laughed when Aerith got killed in front of my eyes, the scene was just too hilarious) and the Geostigma causes him to get even more depressed, so I gues it's understandable he's still mopey....

It's even funnier with the rumor that what's-his-name's finishing sword blow only knocked Aerith out cold. Cloud only thought she was dead and he accidently drowned her thinking she was dead. (So yeah, some think Cloud was the jerkface who killed Aerith.)

Jeez, I wish i grew up with Final Fantasy, I'm missing out on the action of everyone fighting over what Final Fantasy game was the best. :pizzahat: Well, on my 18th birthday I bought Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Final Fantasy 6...but, I liked Phoenix Wright better, so eventually I deleted FF6.

My husband quoted that idea to me recently. :redd:
What a load bullcrap, saying that a sword that hits you in the lower abdomen wouldn't kill you, just cause you to lose consciousness and you wouldn't die from it cause vital organs hadn't been punctured. Whoever wrote that is a fuck up when it comes to medicine. The liver and intestines are some of the vital organs!
Sure heart and brain are necessary, but without liver and intestines, you'd die pretty fast.
Although that idea of Cloud drowning her does give me the idea that he did it saying, "That's for taking my Zack away from me!"
Yeah I think Cloud was gay for Zack and is now always gay for Sephiroth.

I mostly grew up with V and VI, so I never played the previous four titles. I tried, but it never gripped me enough. VI is definitely my favorite FF game. Big cast, most of them with enough personality, likeable couples (CelesxLocke FTW) and Kefka can beat the shit out of Sephiroth any day. Sephiroth is a momma's boy and Kefka blew up the freaking word and became a god.
Take that, Sephiroth! XD

In fairness...Sephiroth was actually the one to control Jenova, my girlfriend believes he was motivated more for pure power. That's how he made the Jenova pieces take his form and serve him since you only see the real Sephiroth at the Northern Crater basically. He orchestrated the whole meteor thing purely to become a god. He'd be at the source of the lifestream and just absorb it all for even more power when the Meteor hit so he's not all THAT different from Kefka in motivation or even in success. Kefka may have oppressed the world, but s'far as I recall in the world of ruin only the Empire's main city is destroyed like Midgar was in 7. Sure he does some minor damage to other places and shuffles the landmasses about a bit but in terms of property damage I think he and Sephiroth are almost on par.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kefka and think he's great fun, I just like playing Devil's advocate at times.

Back on topic.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Ugh it wasn't really my choice to see this one, I kept recalling the dubstep trailer and groaning as I hated dubstep. That's actually a pleasant surprise, there wasn't any dubstep in the film so one point for that. However the plot is rather predictable (I'd called the source of Hansel and Gretel's magic immunity 1/4 into the film) and I'm certain they've taken far too many liberties with the source material. The stuff is also pretty ridiculously dumb. For one thing despite being such legendary killers they seem to struggle with every single witch they encounter, granted this could show the witches were just strong foes but it's not really consistant with their history and their image. It never really explains where they get their advanced weaponry or equipment from (despite an in-universe fanboy asking) and really the action is pretty dull. They place a heavy emphasis on FIRE which of course ties back to the original Hansel and Gretel story where they incinerate a witch in her own oven but despite Gretel outright saying fire is the best way to kill a witch nearly none of their technology is fire-based. In fact the most use of fire actually comes from the witches who cause a great deal of explosions at one scene in the film, they talk about gaining immunity to fire as a big plotpoint for the witches but there's no real need to. Even the climax TEASES the thought of incinerating the main witch before going for a much more mundane route. A really minor thing that also annoys me is just how much the main characters are devoid of any kind of culture, set in an old style Bavarian town all the village cast speak with a distinct accent appropriate to the setting and act relatively believable. The guns are all small little revolvers or hunting rifles or long-barrelled shotguns appropriate for the time. In swaggers Hansel and Gretel, no less Bavarian, with big American accents, big American swear words and big American guns to dominate the lives of the small townspeople and liberate them from the witches for a fee. It might just be me but it's just such an irritance to see no courtesy to accents given to these characters especially with such big names on it.

Really it's not for me, Gretel starts off being the badass femme fatale (not really something I personally like) and gets increasingly useless throughout the plot until she is basically a plot device for Hansel. If you like poorly done stupid action by all means enjoy, but I think I'll stick with Van Helsing.

Yeah the full scene is the fanboy asks them what the best way to kill a witch, Hansel lists mundane ways "Chopping the head" "Tearing out the heart" etc but then Gretel overrules him and states to the fanboy the absolutely best way to kill a witch is with fire. Hansel doesn't question this.

Really witches seem pretty weak in that most things will kill them, it's just Hansel and Gretel are immune to most witch attacks.

Hmmm... that sounds like a terrible movie, then.
I mean, my god, how boring to watch these actions scenes of witches doing this, that and the other thing to attack them and you're just sitting there knowing they can't be hurt. So basically you wasted your money, hoping to see a good action filled movie that kept you in suspense...

Spoiler: Something I heard in the trailer
saying that Hänsel and Gretel have a sister. Let me guess, the head witch is their sister?

No either you heard wrong or the trailer lied, there was no subplot like that.

The witches magic is relatively dangerous to other people but yeah most of the violence is just that the witches appear pretty strong physically, I wouldn't say herculean in strength but above average and they use brooms for speed.

Also Hansel has something that is similar to diabetes as a result of the witch force-feeding him candy as a kid. I just found that kinda funny.

Well, I found the entire idea of a Candy House in the original Grimm story to be pretty confusing in the first place. If it's a candy house in the forest, wouldn't there be ants all over it? I know, I know, bringing logic into this...!

Maybe the trailer had the line "We have a sister" and I just assumed it was talking about Hänsel and Gretel having one. I think it was mentioned in the original story that they had older siblings that were already abandoned in the forest by the time they got born...

I got Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on Blu-Ray yesterday. It was incredible! 9/10

The last movie I saw in theatres was The Hobbit, which I thought was good but not great. I HATED the 48 frames per second version some theaters are showing, though. It ruins the looks of film and makes everything look like a bad video game.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

I've watched a few films this weekend. Had the house to myself so watched Netflix on the bit telly. Heaven.

The Human Centipede: First Sequence - 7/10
Just wow. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting (which I'm just chalking up to the fact that I've seen too many gory films) but was still sick.

Sin City - 8/10
Quite strange but very enjoyable. If it was based on looks not personality it'd be 10/10

Paranormal Activity 2 - 9/10
FUCK THIS FILM. Brilliant but oh my god I was so scared during the second half of this and nearly cried at one part! I hear that the first one is even scarier and I'm so not looking forward to it, but I can't not watch it. Also, I did my back in because I was sat tensed up for so long. It really fucking hurts.

Insidious - 7/10
Watched this straight after PA2 which is probably why I didn't find it very scary. Had a few jumps and I liked it though.

The Eye - 5/10
Meh. Jessica Alba is blind, gets eyes, sees scary things. I've seen it a few times and honestly it's only so I can look at Alessandro Nivola's beautiful face.

Speaking of Paranormal Activity...

Paranormal Activity

So I saw it's coming from TV the other day so I finally decided to see it out of curiosity.
What I had read from it were comments like "Most terrifying horror movie ever...!!!" or "I couldn't watc it till the end"
So even though I'm not a big fan of horror movies I kinda had somewhat hi expectations for this.
And let me make clear that when I say "not a big fan of horror movies" I mean that I like to see some thrills once in a while
and I'be seen Halloweens and Jason movies for example. ...Yes I know they are Fridat the 13th, but let's face it; some people will always call them as Jason movies.
I really like those movies and I think they're fun and entertaining, but still tense enough to keep you interested and bit scared.
What I mean by this is that I don't like horror movies that make you empty your bowels in your pants...
I get some oeple watch those kinda movies because they want to be thrilled that much, but...
...I'm more an comedy person. But after all this; did I like the film I saw?
...Meh...Let's just say that I can read those two quotes I presented earlier in different light too.

Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaah I didn't really like this movie much at all.
I like the way it's filmed like a documental video and the story, though extremely simple, is still pretty interesting.
Unfortunantely the acting...ehhh...well yeah. Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat mae a pretty nice 'your basic neighborhood' Katie & Micah at the beginning,
but when the ghost story start to go on more and more I just...didn't like the way they acted.
I dunno if it's actually the way they acted or did the director suggest them act like that but...hhhhhhhhh...
And the writing isn't that good either... I mean, sure, the story kept me watching it, but the way Katie and Micah react and act to things just...they didn't make the people act realistic... I mean think of it; you found out your partner has a demon after him/her would you oh I dunno, try to get anykinda hep or just try to solve it yourself?!
Yeah...Have fun.

About the characters...Micah is a number one asshole in this movie; he just wants to get the ghost on tape (possibly to sell the story or something) and reveal the mystery by playing a ghostbuster.
He doesn't care how much his girlfriend asks him to stop and continues to play knight brave all the god damn time. There's a god damn demon ghost around pffft who needs help I can do this myself no prob.
Katie on the other hand...All she does is ask Micah to stop what ever he is doing and playing the damsell in distress.
...Here's a simple question; If she knew that demon ghost is after her and shed endanger Micah by staying there; why doesn't she just leave?
Okay; granted; maybe she would be far too scared to be alone with a demon on her back I can understand that, but why doesn't she get any help either. And why the christ sake she plays along with the Micahs game...!
And the acting itself is not that great either IMO. Okay; it's not easy to act a horrified person or something but...this is just bad.
Most of the time they were gasping in frightment or other moments I should have shivering inside a blanket; I found myself laughing at what I was seeing from the TV screen.

About the ending...I really have no idea what to say.
I'm used to these unnatural things and all, certainly I was expecting something but...the movie ends just...
Okay I have no idea how I would have ended this movie either but...no no no....for movie to have this much realism in it the end just feels...stupid.
Heck; I liked the way the movie [REC] ended more than this. I dunno how to realy say it so you guys would get what I'm TRYING to say here.
...I guess the best way to say it would be like...this ending wasn't the payoff the film kept building all the time.
Something like that.

So all in all...I think this is a bad movie and I just dont' get what the fuzz is all about here.
The writing is meh, characters are stupid and boring and the acting is bad.
Am I glad I saw this movie? Actually....yeah. Will I see it again? Meh...I'll probably never will...at least from free will.
Will I ever see the rest of the movies? I don't see why not. If not for anything else then at least to see how much the movies have evolved.
...But this time my expectation bar is low. Really low.

3/10

EDIT:

Pierre wrote:
You'll have to clarify, what ending did you get? There's like a dozen for that film *blatant exaggeration*

Spoiler tag it so I can know what you mean.

Hmm....So there's multiple versions with diferent endings?
....Hah....something new everyday.
Spoiler:
I got the one where Micah....dies? and Katie gt's 100% possessed, the film ending with her coming closer and closer to camera and then we see her eyes up close and....jeah.

But the point being; I wasn't satisfied with that ending for the build up the movie had.
