Ah, I understand.

I hardly ever look for fanfics without the romance genre. Unless it's a crossover. I find those interesting to read.

Feel terrible for doing so, because I also believe that it's annoying that a majority of fanfics are romance related. (Yes, I know I'm a hypocrite) But I do have some fanfics favorited that aren't romance centered.

Even when I think I'm reading another genre, it always ends up being centered around romance... As long as it's a pairing I like I don't mind it, but if it's one I don't support it can really put me off what was a good fanfic.

Anyway, I think we got a little off topic here...

One last thing: I agree, but there was once a time where I swallowed my pride and read a fanfic that had Phoenix/Iris in it. (There were also a lot of other couples.) It was a pretty good fanfic, it was a little too cracked up for my taste but I ended up reading it to the end. (Somewhat.)

Ok, Mario...*snaps fingers* Do you like any of the Mario cartoons from back in the day Lucy? A week ago I tried to find the Mario anime movie that I haven't watched since I was 14. (Yes, I actually like the Japanese Mario movie.)

Huh, all I ever heard about it was the Super Mario Brothers movie and that was apparently bad. And while I never watched it or the Super Mario Brothers Super Show - at least, what I can remember, I do have this dim memory of a live-action Mario and Luigi on TV - it seems somewhat fun to watch.

Yes.

I wish I could see that live action Mario and Luigi movie again. ^^; (bite me!) The goombas and the yoshis looked wrong but the movie had Luigi/Daisy.

It totally did and it had some hilariously silly lines that all but killed Dennis Hopper's career.

Though I always liked him in Waterworld, but yeah I would love to see that anime film if it was subbed anywhere. Looks infinitely more accurate than the live-action one.

There were Yoshis? And while Luigi-Daisy is somewhat nice, they made Mario and Luigi into father and son? At least, the way I understood it, considering what Luigi says while he's having a dinner with Daisy and Mario and... some black chick? Or are they brothers and father-son?
Plus, the entire idea of the movie was dumb. Daisy is now an archeologist whose father is... a dinosaur... egg... fossil. And the cliffhanger-ending... why put that in? Why start the plot of the next movie, if you don't even know if the movie will be a success well enough to give you a budget for another movie.

I think cliffhanger endings with no sequel are ok.

The point of a cliffhanger is to imply the adventures are still ongoing not necessarily that there will be a sequel.

Chrono Trigger's ending had a cliffhanger where Crono's mother disappeared into time and so the team sets off on another wacky adventure. Roll credits and it's fine.

Sure it had a sequel eventually but it wasn't related to the cliffhanger there.

Though I won't really defend the movie, I'm just ok with cliffhangers and no sequel.

I used to enjoy a Mario cartoon when it played on TV awhile ago. It was a guilty pleasure of mine. The only thing I can remember, however, is that the voices Mario and Luigi had really did not suit them...

Also, I once read a Franziska x Miles fanfic...

I thought their voices fit them...I mean, Mario and Luigi are Italian. And now I am reminded of how Mario would always talk about food in the show and it would make me hungry.

And in the Super Mario World cartoon, Yoshi was so cute. x3

True, but did they have to make Pasta jokes all the time?
I mean, I'm not one who overly cares for PC-ness of something - heck, the 90s anime were less censored than the stuff we have now which has actually nothing to do with my point - but making them focus on pasta is... well, kind of rude? Plus, it's really dumb after a while.
"May the Pasta be with you!"
"Not on your lasagna-loving life!"
"We have a tanker full of spaghetti sauce!"
The last which doesn't make sense why somebody would want that.

A serious pasta fan might want the tanker.
Also bear in mind the source material for their characters. They didn't have much to go on.

Fair enough, but that doesn't mean they have to rip off everything else.
Couldn't they have at least tried to make something that was.... you know, good. And amusing to watch for older audiences and I mean in an adult way, not the kind of amusement we get from watching kids' shows and remembering the simple way things were. (A reason why I think Edgeworth is a die-hard fan of the Steel Samurai)

That may be, Tales of Symphonia ended with Lloyd going on a journey to collect all Exspheres with someone. Of course, that was ruined by Knight of Ratatosk, but that still didn't really explain things what Lloyd was doing.

I still think it's somewhat of a dick move to do.
If you heard of the Sonic show - Sonic SAT AM - the good one, the final episode was really awesome! The ending was a complete cliffhanger, a huge hint that more episodes were coming. People were hyped! And then the show got cancelled....

Apparently Mario Kart U is being released this year. I'm really looking forward to it, as it's been a while since I've played this series. Mario Kart Wii was amazing, so I have high expectations for this new game.

Also, it would be nice if it was a little more challenging.

I think that Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are some of the most magical games that I've ever played. Yeah, there may be no story; but the feeling that one gets when playing these games can't be replicated in any other series. Mario always has that endearing charm that always puts a smile on my face whenever I play any of the games. I mean, really; who doesn't like Mario? He's the iconic mascot in video games that everyone can recognize. The games are always fun, and great for everyone. I'm really surprised that Shigeru Miyamoto and his team are always able to create fresh experiences with each game. I'm confident that as long as there are video games, there will always be Mario. :will:

I didn't like the DS Mario Kart. It didn't feel complete to me. The graphics were lacking compared to Mario Kart Wii and it didn't run as smoothly. Also, the multi-player isn't as fun unless you have a large amount of people playing.

Neither am I, really. I think it's just that I've never been too fond of the DS graphics. I'm not even sure I like the 3DS graphics. They just bug me for some reason. I actually prefer Mario Kart 64's graphics.

IMO Mario Kart DS is the best one. The music is fantastic, particularly the Rainbow Road and Online Menu themes. The new courses are original and interesting but the Luigi's Mansion course can just jump off a cliff, and it has a decent selection of retro courses (although MK7 pips it to the post simply because it has SNES Rainbow Road). Shine Runners was a great battle mode and Wii/MK7's Coin Runners just doesn't compare. The mission mode was something new that gave the game more longevity and I have no idea why it wasn't included in future instalments (although I still don't understand Goomba King's name being retconned to 'Goomboss'. The kart emblem creation mechanic was fun, unintrusive, and it beats Black Ops' any day of the week. I never really got to use the online much as the wireless router at my house was incompatible with DS games, so I had to go to my grandad's house if I wanted to play online. The only downside is only the Mushroom Cup is selectable on single-cart multiplayer.

Yeah it was pretty damn good though I was never really one for online play, xP too many snakers and folks glitching ahead.

Though I actually really liked the Luigi's mansion track.

Is anyone here aware that there's been several Mario anime? Unfortunately all of them are rare and fetch hundreds of dollars on eBay. While they're nothing special "The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach" is pretty entertaining and they can all be seen fan-subbed on YouTube.

For some reason, I've just never been a big fan of the handheld Mario Kart titles. I love the original for the SNES, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, and even Mario Kart Wii (which seems to get a lot of hate for some reason). I guess it's because I don't like playing against people online in Mario Kart (too many damn cheaters in MKDS), and playing by yourself gets boring after a while so I just stick with the console versions.

Mario is awesome because he proves that you don't have to be a knight in shining armor to save a princess.

Not to mention he can play basketball, baseball, tennis, and soccer, drives a go-kart, has a job as a doctor, a plumber, and a carpenter, has traveled across several galaxies, and fought the likes of Ganondorf, Link, Mewtwo, and Captain Falcon.....Yeah, at this point, being only a knight in shining armor would be kind of a downgrade. ^^;
