At least most clone characters have some redeeming factors. Clones like Ganondorf pretty much have none.

Which they shouldn't. Heck, from all the fighting games I've played, the only one I actually saw absolute clone characters in was Smash Bros. Others, while having same moves (Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter) at least made the execution or appearance a little different (Hayate and Kasumi from Dead or Alive)

One powerful character that proved useful (boss battles on intense would still mock me to this day if not for him) was actually Charizard from the Pokémon Trainer. Rock + head = dead boss. So OP. And you pretty much had an instant escape if you ever felt you were boned. Good job, Charizard

I also hope Ike comes back to represent Fire Emblem. If we look at the pattern I think Chrom would be most likely, but I can't help but imagine he'd just be a clone of Marth (who I assume will be returning)

Lucario replaced Mewtwo and was popular at the time, I think he'll be dropped since he and Mewtwo were somewhat similar in their move sets if Mewtwo is coming back. If anything I think Jigglypuff should be dropped, don't think it's anywhere near popular enough to be given such a consistent position.

Ricky Winterborn for Smash Bros, is what I'm saying. Final Smash is an Avalanche, of course, and his snowboard is a weapon. He rides in on a jet ski, however.

No one was talking about Raiden joining the Smash Bros roster (though that idea is a good one, Snake did get in last time, after all.)
Is Red Steel a Nintendo IP? Because the swordslinger or whatever he's called from Red Steel 2 would be a great fit for Smash.
And my earlier thoughts of Ricky Winterborn are now making me want to go play 1080:Avalanche again, see if any of the oter boarders would be as recognisable. Granted, putting a snowboarder/ occasional jet-skier in would be insane, but this is Smash Bros after all.
