Oh yeah that's true. Nintendo gives me a code I have to redeem in the store which expires, but the overall balance that's added doesn't. I could buy GS5, but the wait is so long..

I'm probably the only one on these forums that's even getting SMTIV
;^^

I always figured Persona and Shin Megami Tensei are the same.
Several pages list the two under the same title.

By the way, in Persona 4, do I have to rescue the person in the TV before the first Foggy day appears after they get sucked in? Or does it have to be foggy-after-rain? With the first person I had to properly rescue, I had a foggy day after one sunny one and just rushed.

You know, I'm a lot more like Hanako than I thought.
We have the same birthday (July 10th) and both had traumatic experiences with fire - thankfully, mine didn't take any lives and merely left me with a neurosis. But we both don't like our birthdays very much.

Hanako hates being made much of on her birthdays, simply for one day of the year, and sees no point in it since she has been treated as not really being there at other times of the year and other places. And I share that view. Why make such a big deal out of myself for this one day? I don't like it, the whole attention on me.

When it comes to comparing myself to Katawa Shoujo girls, Hanako would definitely be my pick, but with some of Rin's characterteristics added in as those are similar to me as well.

Ah it'll no doubt be done to foreshadow the coming Fire Emblem x SMT crossover.

An yeah Cat Persona is technically a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series. I don't think the main SMT games have the social elements in them and other gameplay changes.

Spoiler: P4: Second Dungeon's Shadow
Kanji Tatsumi

Oh god, I just saw him on the TV and ewwww... Ewwww! I knew, considering the outside-personality being that, it was required to be that - that the shadow would be like that but... ewwww! Ewwww! I feel unclean and disgusted! Ewww... Especially with the fudonetshi being worn! Ewww... I don't wanna go to the 'Bad Bad Bathhouse'!
Blah, I don't even wanna look at the screen~!

Yeah I just entered that place and already hear the voices saying, "Hey there kittykat... no need to be afraid... now, just relax... what handsome pecs you have..." And people wonder why I think certain games are gay...! I just had to save cause I noticed the reaction of Persona-Appearance to Spell-Occurence was laggy. I hadn't saved for a week in-game.
I think the Bathhouse is worse than Shadow Yukiko talking about 'lacy unmentionables' which I, with my perverted mind, thought meant that she had a vagina made out of lace. Considering the amount of panty shots majority of Japanese franchise have, I thought talking about underwear was a normal thing.

The exaggeration is all fine and well... I look forward to VGR making fun of this.
But the way everybody reacts to their shadow is dumb. Maybe it's because I know everybody hides a side of themselves, but everybody reacts so over the top, "OmG! Like, this is totally not me! You're not me! You're not me-is my denial making you stronger? Oh crap!"
Why can't they just be all, "Yeah I guess I do think that..." and be done with?

I'm not sure if it's a region specific promotion, but you can check out the club nintendo site and see where that gets you.
I was also thinking the same thing about Fire Emblem x SMT.

SMT is a lot darker than Persona. You don't get buddies as companions, so instead you actually talk to demons and recruit them. There are moral choices which lead to Good, Bad and Neutral endings. Dungeon crawling in SMT is much better than Persona. Why the hell does your map get erased after you leave? That was probably the most frustrating thing about it. Oh and trying to attack enemies from behind didn't always work.

Mystery solved: SMTIV ain't even out in europe yet so it wouldn't make sense for a promotion to be announced since the game's release date isn't even known yet :yuusaku: *sigh*

:gregory: ...shut up, Brain, I'm not gonna get a third 3DS just to play American games on it! :yuusaku:

By the way, nobody answered my previous question about Persona - I know it's not really the right thread, though...
I'm currently in the :chef: Bad Bad Bathhouse :chef: (dammit, Pierre... now this is the official name of it!) and it's my first day even being able to get in there, but I have Fog set for Today and Tomorrow. Does that mean I have to finish the bathhouse today or do I still have time? Is the deadline Date-Based or does it have to be Fog-After-Rain?

The Rescue system is a little confusing at times, but I eventually got to the point where I just listened to the characters beat me over the head with saving the person. Fog usually comes in the morning after it rains. For example: When the forecast shows Rain/Sun then that means the rain clears up later in the day and you don't have to worry about it. But if it shows Rain for a whole day, but not the next that's when the fog rolls in. Haven't played the game in months, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Seems like it... I stopped in front of the boss door - my god, these dungeons take too long and I don't even have a mid-section option to go back unless I use a certain item that I have to buy? - and the next day was foggy. Right now it's Rain/Fog and the next is sunny, so I guess I'm still safe... then again I don't care too much for Kanji...

By the way, when does HE get killed?

Spoiler: Despised Victim
Morooka

Please tell me it's soon!

And I think I should look up a guide regarding the Persona Fusing... I don't want to get rid of Izanagi - is that even possible? - but I don't know what should be used for what...

I don't use fusing guides unless I'm doing Margaret's fusing social links.
Yes. You can get rid of Izanagi and it's extremely easy to do, but the demon compendium has your back if you ever want to summon him again... for a price of course. Besides, the point of the Persona/SMT series is to take advantage of fusion and get bigger and better demons.

Persona fusing can get pretty complex so use a guide if you like but you can totally wing it.

As for the Goho-M, Escape ropes and things like that have always really been a thing in the dungeon crawler genre. However you can get a spell later on that fixes that.

The dungeon crawling isn't the large draw of Persona for me it's the social links and stories from them that are.

Urgh. Persona's dungeons are so bad. Almost to the point where I don't want to finish the game, but the social links are also my favorite part of the game.

I read a review on SMTIV and now I'm more hype for the game next week :D

The ending you saw might not have been the "original" ending, they actually went back and changed it.

They didn't change it as such, just expanded on it. Well, apart from one distinction with a part of the world. And while yes, it better as an ending, didn't really sort any of the numerous problems it had. I know people like to say "but take mass effect 3 as an ending to the series and..." No, it's still got its own self-contained story that needs a proper structure and all that.

And if it was the Extended Cut and you see why the flak was there, now you know why there was an Extended Cut in the first place.

Yes, I have played the entire series six times, yes, Mass Effect 3's writing has a fair few flaws. Bloody ruin Kai Leng, why don't you...

However, the Citadel DLC? The single best thing in the entire franchise.

WHUT?

Not played it yet but I hear it has the writing of fanfiction (I heard the worst rumour, Zaeed and Samara can get together there) though I have more an objection to it's placement in the series and how it makes no sense. So millions across the galaxy are dying every day and you are the one person who can stop them so you take a holiday to throw a party....

There were already complaints about how the sidequests that weren't directly helpful seemed like a waste of Shepard's time.

If they'd set it between 2 and 3 as a post-Suicide mission party then it would've made sense, and we wouldn't have to invite that loser James Vega to the party.

When it's said that Citadel has the writing of fanfiction, they mean the best kind of fanfiction, that's even better than what the creators of the original work could come up with. And it is hilarious. And entirely in character. And what's wrong with Vega? I can't be the only one who doesn't hate his guts for having the audacity to be introduced in 3.

And it's perfectly appropriate that the Normandy would need repairs at some point, what with everything going on and the Alliance needing their msot advanced ship in working order. And as for having a party? Well, the humans have a saying "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die!"

Bloody "Stop Having Fun" Guys...

Is that what's said? The Normandy needs repairs so they dock? It's a newly refurbished ship, the ship was redesigned between each game, outright rebuilt in the 2nd it shouldn't need repairs that can't be done on ship since it never takes major damage until the finale.

And Vega is just a boring generic SPACE MUHRINE. A completely bland generic character who doesn't really have a place on the team I feel. Every other member is returning or Javik and Javik has interesting things that connect him to the other team members such as Liara being a prothean scientist and fascinated by him.

Y'know at first I thought he was the gay relationship for folks, because that would validate his existence but no, he contributes nothing of interest to the team.

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.

My sister just finished Mass Effect 3, and I had the dubious honor of being there with her when it happened. Without spoiling anything, I will say that I now understand why the game got so much flack over its ending.

The ending you saw might not have been the "original" ending, they actually went back and changed it.

It was the "original" ending, not the Extended Cut ending.

I'll always love you, Max.

In Persona 4, I think I keep picking the wrong options during those cutscenes and am missing out on some Parameter increases because I know the plot twists and hence have a different way of thinking... Then again...

Spoiler: P4: 2nd Victim Spoiler
They should've thrown out their 'All victims were female' theory as soon as Kanji appeared on TV.
