I would have to say that it's thanks to this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUDfoZGhLjE in which Phoenix Wright has to defend Rainbow Dash.
I was already a fan of MLP and was curious about who exactly Phoenix Wright was.
well... the rest is history.

I got into the series through a friend! He showed me it on his iPod, and I was upset because I didn't own one. (Then I found out it was on DS before iPod)
I played Apollo Justice first, and then the first three.

Well, I was kind of a Professor Layton fan, I was looking for his main themes from his games because I really like the music, then, I found PLvsAA's theme, where I saw a certain character, I researched it, found it's music and fell in love with it :pearl-blush: , then proceeded to get the games and to research more into it all, where I saw a new game had been announced! :pealshock:

This was all three months ago, so I'm kind of new to the series, but I've researched quite a lot, so I know quite a lot of things about it :sassy:

The trailer for GS1DS.

The DS wasn't even out yet and I wasn't sure whether I was going to buy one, until I saw this trailer.

A friend had Apollo Justice on his DS and was really enjoying it. I was playing Hotel Dusk at the time and forgot all about it. Yet, in the back of my mind, it was still there, and I would often wonder what it was like. It was really strange how often I'd think of it. When I finally got it, I felt really excited to play it, and wasn't disappointed. It fast became my favourite series, and not just in gaming! Just in general! I was 12 when I first became a fan, so that's 4 years now.

I started learning Japanese when I found out GK2 wouldn't be localised, and I found my love of Japan. I want to translate video games as my job, so basically, I can thank this series for helping me find my calling. I don't think I'd have even considered Japanese had it not been for this series.

I heard 'Gyakuten Saiban' in my language several times while not knowing the game. I didn't know it was game of courtroom... Then I started the game as a mobile platform(before smartphone's time). It was so slow, bad-quality musics, music stops when there's a sound-effect... but I enjoyed it and now I'm making custom sprites. :yogi:

Videogamerecaps was doing Phoenix Wright, I forget why I even clicked on it. Probably because I had heard about Phoenix Wright and Objection - you know, the kind of stuff you don't really know about but you know it exists - and had a hilarious time reading about how gay they made the game sound, while also pointing out the intense stupidity of it.

Decided to play it myself, started with JFA, and realized that the game was as gay and stupid as they said.

I first got into the series when my mom gave the first game to me as a birthday present in 2008. I always liked crime shows like Law And Order and CSI, so my mom thought that the game would be perfect for me. She later gave me Trials and Tribulations the next year, as she mistook it for the second game in the series, as opposed to the third. I was, hence, quite confused when events from Justice for All were mentioned.

I got into the series because I ended up seeing the second game at Walmart when it was just released and I was fascinated because of the artwork and character design. I ended up looking up the game afterwards and read about the first game and saw some character artwork. I admit that around that time, I was really into games that had anime style artwork in it.

My story is very similar to this. I saw Justice For All on sale and was intrigued by the art style and premise of the game. I also had an interest in the law and mystery-based stories, so I purchased it. It was a good decision.

Be prepared for a really stupid and long story XD

My situation is quite similar. Arround the time the video came out, my friend at one point linked part two of that series in our Team Speak chat. We were all fans of MLP, but none of us knew anything about Ace Attorney, but he linked it anyway, and I added it my "watch later" list, not thinking anything about it.

A week later or so I noticed a game called OSU which had a track with the song "Don't stop me now" and it had a Ace Attorney and EBA theme going on, but i knew nothing about either series. I played OSU and that track and thought it was interesting and played some others. The next day, I went on youtube and pulled down that tab and in my "watch later" list was a picture of phoenix (from the video before) and I thought to myself "hay, that was from the game I was just playing" so I decided to watch the video.

I loved the video a lot, but I knew I needed to learn about Ace Attorney, so I looked up some gameplay online and found my self interested even more. I desperately looked on the iOS appstore to see if there was anything about AA on there, and sure enough there was. A complete port of the 1st game. I snagged it and i was instantly hooked. I beat the 1st aa game and then moved on to the rest. I won't lie, it took me a while to beat all the games in the series, but I did!

I played the hell out of those games and I do, after a week of starting the game, everyone knew that I was a huge ace attorney fan! Hell while I was at bronycon last year (...sorry for all the pony crap guys ^^;) All I had to do was shout objection at everyone knew it was me XD.

....umm...that is all....

Mine's simple, I think.

Years ago I picked up a copy of Tips & Tricks to read while waiting for my mom to get off work at Safeway. It had a walkthrough of the first Ace Attorney in it. I thought it was interesting (combination of anime art and mild interest in law, but not as a career), but never had the money to buy it, the means to play it, or a copy available to buy/play at the same time until last year, when I finally got a new DS and saw T&T on the shelf. Needless to say, I totally spoilered myself by accident, but it was worth it. I got hooked.
So I finally grew a brain and remembered to give myself a signature... Whoopee.

Sure I posted this in another forum somewhere, but I'll post it here again.

Back in late 2005 when I was a senior in high school, we had a free day in choir and someone in my class was playing Phoenix Wright and was starting the second case. I was immediately interested and sought out a copy for myself and got hooked. I consider it a good time to get into the series. It was a niche series back then and we were getting yearly releases of new games. Miss those times, so it's nice that we're finally getting a 5th game in the main series. Been way too long.

As for joining this website, I was looking for PW related manga in late 2006, CR had an ongoing manga project at the time, checked out the forums and joined after a few months of lurking.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

My friend really wanted the game and wouldn't stop talking about it, and when she described it, I decided I too desired this Phoenix Wright. So next time I was around GameStop, I picked it up, played it through, and the rest is history.

The best part is that that friend never ended up getting or playing the game. Awksauce

My story's pretty simple. I was on a roleplay for another game and one of my fellow roleplayer's was posting a bunch of pictures of Trials and Tribulations and I was pretty interested. I asked her about the game and she told me all about and said the first game was available on iOS. I downloaded it onto my iPod and quickly became obssessed and bought all the titles for my DS (even rebuying the first game since my iPod broke :sadshoe: ) It's been almost two years since that time.

While I was looking at Final Fantasy fanart, I came across a picture of Yaag Rosch in a objection pose. ( They compared him to Miles. :edgy: ) Soon enough I found myself looking for a copy of Ace Attorney in a store. The first game was out of stock so I bought AAI therefore spoiling myself about Edgeworth's death.

Well, this is a bit embarassing...

I'm a huge theatre geek and I was looking up on songs from Legally Blonde: The Musical when I came across this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuU3tXSyfKc

I found the sprites quite comical so I decided to do some research about the characters from other videos. Then I listened to some of the game music posted on Youtube and I just fell in love.

I went to get a copy of the game from a friend of mine the next day and I got hooked. So bad.

Nothing complicated: 6 years ago when I was young and foolish with my money, I saw JFA for $15 at Gamestop, thought the cover looked cool and the description on the back made the game sound absolutely awesome. An impulse buy followed, and a passion for the series was born :phoenix:

I I just kinda randomly picked it up. I heard good things about the series before but had no idea what it was about, so when I saw PW:AA in a store, I just bought it and fell in love with it immediately.

I went to the video game rental store once like I usually did every few weeks and since I had already played Professor Layton, I was looking for a similar puzzle-based yet story-heavy game. For some reason, I always knew PW existed but thought the main character in a blue suit looked like a tool so I never wanted to play (strange, I know??). But then I saw Apollo Justice for the first time and thought the cover looked really nice. This being 2009, it was still a 'new' game and so I figured I'd try that one. But I was really lucky that day, for the guy at the cash was a huge Ace Attorney fan (and I kind of liked him) so when he told me to go back and get the first game I decided to oblige despite my unfounded dislike for the main character, which I'm still not sure why. I returned every few weeks for the subsequent games and played each of them for the nonstop five days I had them for. I managed to finish all of them (except Rise From the Ashes-- I played that way later) in time.

So I was fortunate to be able to play them in order! It seems like many people on here never did.

This!

I was chatting with a friend on MSN (This was back before the merge) and he asked if I knew of Phoenix Wright? I said I had only heard the name and genuinely knew nothing about it. He then showed me part 1 of Turnabout Storm. I gave it a watch and it had me in fits of laughter. Later I bought the first game of eBay and was blown away! I didn't get 2 3 and 4 for a few months though because my old Laptop died. :sadshoe: But I enventually bought them and was HOOKED! Turnabout Storm not only made me an AA fan but an MLP fan aswell. :edgy:

My experience was funny, since the initial exposure I'd had to the game was some tangential remark about it on a now long-since-defunct DBZ forum I used to visit back in 2005. Someone in a cosplay thread mentioned they were going to an anime convention dressed as Phoenix Wright. Despite not knowing just what this "Phoenix Wright" was, much less that it was a character in an obscure Japanese-turned-Western courtroom drama video game, several years later in 2007 I was in a sort of video game drought and in need of something new to play when, unexpectedly, the name "Phoenix Wright" popped into my head (to this day I still have no clue how I knew that it was a video game). So I searched Amazon, found a new copy for sale, and just a few clicks and 5 days later, it arrived at my doorstep just begging to be inserted into my DS Lite.

At first, I had no idea what to think of it. It was such an unusual game that seemed tame by then-modern gaming standards, yet it was so over-the-top that I just couldn't put it down. Eventually, though, my feelings settled down and it earned a place in my heart and memory once the final objection was shouted at the end of Rise From the Ashes. Bought the second game the day I beat the first, finished it in about five weeks (got stuck on really obscure-yet-obvious contradictions, had to use a guide in a lot of places, couldn't get through some investigation parts, etc.), then joined CR the day I finished it by following a link from Wikipedia.

And then, just when I thought my affection for the series couldn't get any deeper, this happened; literally the day after I joined this awesome website. Been a fan ever since and have see no reason to quit or forget about it. I couldn't do it even if I tried.

I was subscribed to Nintendo Power for a few years until it ended. I remember seeing a section talking about a game called Phoenix Wright years ago. Although I hate to admit it, I thought the concept sounded boring. "Who would want to play as a lawyer?" was my young brain's thinking. I eventually started hearing how well loved the series was on the internet, so I decided to give it a shot if I got the chance. Three or four years ago I found the game for the iOS for only $5. I figured that if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have wasted much money. I can now say with certainty that it was the best $5 I have ever spent. Since then I have played through all localized games and am more excited for Dual Destinies than I have been for any game in quite some time.

I'm another one of those people who overlooked the series when it first came out, because I didn't have a lot of money to throw around and I honestly couldn't imagine how a game about lawyers could even work in the first place. I was developing a pretty big interest in mysteries around the time, so I'm definitely frustrated with my rash dismissal of the series in retrospect. Makes me wonder if there are actually any other good mystery games in existence that I've missed...
Anyway, my boyfriend got the WiiWare version of the first game in 2011, played the first four cases, and came to me and said, "How have you not played this game? It seems like exactly your kind of thing!" So, he bought me the DS version for my birthday because he's really sweet, and I played the first four cases myself and fell in love pretty much instantly. The writing was exactly the mixture of dramatic and goofy that I go for, and even though the characters were broad caricatures I actually felt for them. Admittedly, I thought the mysteries in the first three cases were a little weak - Turnabout Sisters, at least, compensates by being very emotional - but Turnabout Goodbyes left me satisfied in that regard as well. And then my boyfriend and I experienced Rise from the Ashes together, playing till we reached a save point and then taking a few minutes to share our theories before resuming. And that's how we've done the rest of the series. We've enjoyed it all, with the exception of large chunks of Investigations, and we finally caught up to everyone a few weeks ago by finishing Apollo Justice! Now I only have to go out of my way to avoid spoilers for games that aren't in English yet!

Around the time that Apollo Justice was coming out, my brother found out about Justice For All.
We didn't really research the game or anything and I forgot how he got it, but we both thought that JFA was the only AA game.

For a while I thought it was going to be really boring.
A game about a lawyer?! What are you going to do, paperwork?! (I was young, forgive me :P)

Anyway, I eventually tried it. Ironically, when my brother lost interest in the game, I started to love it.
In the middle of playing JFA, I found out that it was a sequel, and that there was even a 4th game coming.

I've played the trilogy, but oddly enough I haven't been able to get my hands on/play AJ all the way through, or Investigations.
Still, Ace Attorney is one of the best series of games I've ever played,
with T&T being 2nd only to Ghost Trick as my favorite video game.

Also, I've saved my money for the only reason I got my 3DS: Dual Destinies. I'm very excited. I hope it will win the number one spot.

I used to download NDS games and play them on an emulator... the ROM sites usually had an image with the game and I saw this new 'Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney' game and downloaded cause hey, why not....

I liked it so much I downloaded all of the Phoenix Wright games after, then went on to buy a DS Lite, and bought all the Ace Attorney games to show my support. I am now studying law as well and almost a lawyer myself (the games may or may not have anything to do with it :P )

My sibling bought it and they talked to me about it (they said that they had to tell me about the game in order to be able to explain how they got a crush on her rival in the game - Edgeworth), I got curious and borrowed their DS next time I visited them. Now they have someone to discuss it with, because I loved it as well, obviously.

I was new to my high school, like completely new as in did not go to the same district for middle or elementary school, so I was trying to make friends. One of the people I followed around as often as possible was playing it one day, and I thought it sounded silly but I decided to try it via rom.. eventually, and I absolutely loved it. I own all of the main games except the first one now, which I shall obtain with my next paycheck providing my Gamestop still has it when said paycheck arrives :3 And, the only case I missed is the final one of the first game when my save was corrupted and I had to start over D:

And, thanks to this particular series, I met my best friend in the entire world. I wouldn't have become friends with him if he hadn't used a Gumshoe avatar on the forum we were both on, and I wouldn't have begged for his MSN name so we could talk about it. We even got to meet up once! Thank you, Ace Attorney~

True, there's not much to explain... Crushing on Edgeworth is just the natural order! They were with me when I played case 1-1 and parts of 1-2, to see how I reacted to "the sexy prosecutor".
Gimme a "P"! Gimme an "I"! Give me a "P" and an "E"! What's that spell?! Pipe!

My sister bought it and she talked to me about it (she said that she had to tell me about the game in order to be able to explain how she got a crush on her rival in the game - Edgeworth), I got curious and borrowed her DS next time I visited her. Now she has someone to discuss it with, because I loved it as well, obviously.

Yes, in an alternative universe my sibling is telling me about their strange feelings about a certain sexy witness, and then I have to guess who they meant. "Well... Angel?" "No..." "Jake?" "Not Jake." "Lotta?" "Nope." "Bellboy?" "Pinker." "Is it April May? I didn't think she was your type." "No, even more pink... and... animalistic."

Edit: You changed it to Shelley! (Who is indeed rather handsome... even though I must confess I prefer frilly Edgeworth.) Now I look like a crazy person talking about sexy parrots! Squawk!
