1. To what extent is the magatama and the bracelet used? Are they used about the same amount of times as they were in the previous games or do you just break psyche locks on a few people and perceive a few people in the entire game?

There's no real significance behind it. The explanation of Psyche-locks in Turnabout Return is included for new players who haven't gone through case 4 yet. Then, I'd say it wasn't charged before Pearl's appearance in Turnabout Return and stayed charged for the rest of the game. He was still able to see locks on someone during case 5. As for why it looked uncharged while he was reading that letter... I dunno.

Of course they know. How many times have I seen someone congratulating Nick on regaining his attorney's badge... (Well, that might just be me, considering how many times I've presented that badge. It makes me happy that there are more characters in this game that respond to attorney's badges than any other game thus far.)
As an aside, Pearl and Trucy met long before the DLC case, when Pearl and Athena finally meet. It's also assumed that she's pretty familiar with Apollo too.

It's fine, actually. I didn't include the Mood Matrix sequences that usually are squeezed between some testimonies. Those sequences can sometimes last a while, like the equivalent of 2 or 3 cross-examinations in one. Some times, they require multiple points in the testimony to be updated; other times, can end with presenting evidence (there's nothing more to press when a testimony is complete). Even other times, they require searching out the source of overrunning emotions before the usual "find contradicting emotions" segments. If I recall correctly, there's one in the 1st case, 2 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th, and 2 in the DLC. As expected, the one in the 1st case is the shortest sequence out of them all.
Finally, all the other times are the usual "select answer from list below" or "present relevant evidence" segments. It's a pretty good balance of gameplay, though the Perceive and Psyche-lock segments are scattered and few.
