My avatar just switches between random pictures from Di Gi Charat. I use SignAvatar.com for that.

The picture in my signature is Puella Magi Madoka Magica. And in the spoiler are buttons that link to my Di Gi Charat fansite, forum, and Tumblr blog.

This avatar is from Nichijou, the most hilarious anime I've seen. It's a slice-of-life style anime with so many exaggerated expressions, internal overthinking and Mai trolling the hell out of Yuuko and Mio.

Specifically, it's from this scene.

It's about time I made a sig with P/M in it.

I would consider the relationships between Phoenix and Maya and Watanuki and Yuuko similar...They're both debatable pairings. And you guys already know my two cents.

And on another note, Lissa looks friggin adorable with that party hat on. ^-^

New Sig TIEM!!!

Peter Parker and Harry Osborn. Once best friends, now mortal enemies. I used the versions of them from the TASM movie universe. And the quote is from Spider-Man 3, as much as I'm not a fan of it.

My inner SnK fan has finally been unleashed! New avi is Armin Arlert. He's always felt like he's useless or untalented because he's always getting saved by Eren and Mikasa, but in truth, he's a gifted tactician and a loyal friend.

Once the money has been put onto my account, I will finally put in my pre-order for Lightning Returns, coming out in November! The Japanese version, of course, I have no idea why the American version is suddenly pushed to February of next year. And frankly, I don't care. Especially if they aren't putting in Dual Audio.

In that spirit, I got myself hyped up again after seeing her various clothes in the game and decided to change my avatar to one of Lightning in the promotional poster of the game. And I don't care if I do have to buy a Japanese PSN card to get money into my Japanese PSN Account. I want that Aerith outfit for Lightning!

It's easy not to get hyped for XIII-3 you simply look at any promotional material and go :yuusaku: "Oh god...they are still doing that?"

Also seriously? The fact Lightning is basically Fem!Cloud was already annoying, now she has a Cloud skin AND for further FF7 connections an Aerith skin?

Next I'll hear they are bringing out a Sephiroth skin when you fight Snow or for the big bad.

I dunno why people think XIII is so bad... I mean, XIII was a good game, despite the complainers bitching about how the battle system plays itself, when it actually doesn't. XIII-2 was... well, not that good... it was decent. It just had a weird story, bad time travelling influences, boring main character, boring new characters and even made the old characters boring, ending with an Ending where nobody cares what happens to anyone except maybe the Moogle... although that last bit may just be me.
But LR seems great. I mean, we have the good Farron Sister as the lead again. And Light was never supposed to be just Fem!Cloud. She was also supposed to be similar to Squall. Most of that probably disappeared by now, but still. And the Aerith skin thing was obviously gonna happen because Sakamoto Maaya voiced Lightning as well as Aerith. And personally, I would've preferred Zack's SOLDIER uniform instead of Cloud's.

- Played XIII- know what I'm talking about
- The battle system does play itself basically, at least in comparison to other FF games.
- The 'complainers' have valid opinions too and many of them have played the game, assigning them a derogatory name does not change the fact they are people who had problems with the game and think it is largely flawed.
- XIII-2 did suck
- Both Farron sisters are kind of dull but at least one of them isn't a copy of Cloud, Lightning managed to transcend Cloud's level of blandness by not actually undergoing any real character development in her game, she stays the same boring soldier type as Cloud was pre-coma.
- Being like Squall...isn't any better at least Cloud had development at some point.
- We were promised no XIII-3, calling it Lightning Returns doesn't circumvent that in my eyes.

I hear people constantly saying that the battle system plays itself because all they do is "keep pressing A" to which I will always gladly retort: Guess what I did in the previous FF games? I also repeatedly pressed A to finish the damn random battle!
Seriously, the previous FFs I could get by in most battles by simply hitting everything with A over and over again. In XIII, I actually have to switch jobs, make sure to put in the right command unless I let the Battle System AI take over, which generally has less-satisfactory results.

Considering majority of those complainers never even finished XIII, most of them giving up around Chapter 9 when things get more interesting, I don't think they are fully allowed to say that the whole game's battle system plays itself. And the hell is with this largely flawed crap? Every game has flaws, large and small. I like the linearity in XIII because it made me feel like I am actually being pursued by people, unlike all the other FFs where I was basically a rebel or something and was supposedly the enemy of people pursuing me. I like only controlling the leader and manipulating the AI with the Paradigm System to work to my advantage.
Plus, Manual Input in the battle beats Auto Battle by every mile.
If I look at what the AI wants me to do via Auto Battle, I see how shit it is, compared to what I could do better by manual input. I have a ton more fun, even with random battles, once I switched to Manual Input only.

And Light did change. Subtlely, but she did change. She realized that she needs to ask other people for help when she's in a situation that she can't handle alone. Cloud was a jerk at start, became emo and then he became unbearably annoying again, I fail to see how that is a better character development than actually becoming an understandable or even relateable character. And Light was relateable in XIII, because her fear was for her sister and other stuff. XIII-2 not so understandable, not everybody can relate to being a valkyrie in a different dimension, after all.

Me my girlfriend...all my friends....all beat the game, all felt it was too automated. In other battles buffs felt meaningful, you could see them making a difference, not so in XIII...buffs are designed to be brief temporary and cast en-masse and repeatedly. Reflect doesn't exist in the game because it's too meaningful, the ability to completely negate a spell is too slow too noticeable, the gameplay of XIII is built around being fast and flashy and so your actions feel less meaningful. All you do is push L1 and X and very rarely triangle to keep a launched thing launched by going early.

Compare to 8 drawing spells to power yourself up, triggering your gunblade on each attack. Powering up your summons. Travelling the world for awesome card games.
Compare to 10 doing meaningful debuffs to ensure that giant strength thing doesn't hit you, timing slots to ensure you get the best reels, inputting combos to ensure Auron doesn't screw up. Scouting out players and dominating the Blitz leagues.
Compare to 6 inputting combos for Sabin's awesome moves, tactically choosing Mog's dances, tactically timing Gogo's mimic and Terra's Trance power.
Compare to 13 switching between magic attack, physical attack, defence, healing. Moving forward.

Other FF games have you being pursued, X has you outcast and hunted throughout the world as heretics. 6 has an all powerful empire trying to crush you underfoot at every turn and hunt you down. They both implemented ways that this worked such as refusing to allow you into places because it's just too dangerous and in the international version of X, with the Dark Aeons, super powerful summons that would prevent access to other places till you could beat them. There's ways of doing "on the run" without killing off all freedom and closing every door, XIII failed to do that.

Auto-battle was disappointing but satisfactory, I never had trouble with it because all the decisions seemed so meaningless and pointless. The only times it was disappointing was on the likes of synergist where it would apply pointless buffs to people, like bravery on Vanille and the like and screw up the order of the importance of the buffs.

I hate only controlling one character because I can see when the AI makes mistakes elsewhere. I spec'd Snow's little jacket emblem thing so he would be a damage mastermind and I slam him into ravager to boost the chain. He KNOWS the elemental strikes but insists upon throwing weak spell after spell at the foe. I can't use everyone's special abilities because I am not the commander of them. I game over when the party leader dies? Despite in-game mechanics confirming that other party members can totally access the inventory yes that's the case, granted they fixed it in XIII-2 but they still cut out a whole party member so there's even less unique abilities in the party.

There was outrage at the 'to-be-continued' indicating that there would be more to FFXIII, which indicates that XIII-2 felt incomplete. They came out and said this did not mean there would be a XIII-3 and alluded to DLC instead.

Have you ever tried to beat the late Missions or even some of the storyline bosses without any buffs or debuffs? It can take so long that even the game is telling you you're playing the game wrong and puts Doom onto your leader. Now, in XIII-2, I agree I feel that buffs have been so nerfed that they are pointless... but I think XIII-2 was made too easy and hence the battle system was pointless as the "Attack Attack Attack" strategy was enough.

Quote:

10 was linear because it was a flashback for the most part. And even then, apart from one scene where I'm running out of the Macalania Temple and being forbidden from entering one city, I felt no indication that the party was actually labelled as traitors and, if seen, would be shot immediately.

Quote:

I played VI several times and I can't think of any scene where I'm really followed by the Empire... I recall being attacked when entering Narshe, but that was not by the Empire. That were Narshe locals.

Actually, you weren't prevented from accessing those old Temples until you were strong enough to beat them. You had to be severely overpowered and practically break the game to defeat them. You had to go all over the entire Grid for every character to just defeat the first of the Dark Aeon. And that is not a fun thing to do, that is practically forcing the player play the game more than they ever wanted to, just because they want to get one thing - for example, the Jecht Sphere at Besaid Temple to get Auron's Overdrive.

XIII has grinding parts as well, especially if the player wants to get a Maxed Crystarium for the characters, for the Achievement/Trophy. However, that part was completely optional as the last Crystarium Stage wasn't unlocked until post-game. The player could beat the game and, actually, all the Missions without requiring to overlevel themselves. (Overleveling being bad if the player wanted the 5 Star Mission Trophy)

Only monster where it's heavily suggested to be at max Crystarium are the Shaolong Guis and even those could be done without being at max crystarium with luck, timing and precision and good knowledge of the battle system.

And like I said, I never read a promise about no more XIII and hearing more XIII coming didn't bother me. I'm just glad that I don't have to control boring-ass Sera anymore. (Whatever made them think making her the main character would be a good idea?)

Never had Doom go on my leader from timing out on a boss fight (which by the way was another big complaint some people had with the game) but the buffs felt ineffective and lacking and insignificant. Great, improve my attack and magic stats but like I said the combat system was designed to be flashy and quick rather than substantial.

Quote:
10 was linear because it was a flashback for the most part. And even then, apart from one scene where I'm running out of the Macalania Temple and being forbidden from entering one city, I felt no indication that the party was actually labelled as traitors and, if seen, would be shot immediately

Semi-linear and X at least has a sense of being a world. You can actually run to every place in X, go there right on foot. The plot makes it mostly linear since there's a strict itinerary that goes with a pilgrimage. In 13 you will be cut off from place after place that it doesn't feel like a world as much as a connection of set pieces.

I played VI several times and I can't think of any scene where I'm really followed by the Empire... I recall being attacked when entering Narshe, but that was not by the Empire. That were Narshe locals.

Then your memory has failed you. Remember Banon? The leader of the Returners? Remember fleeing the Returner hideout with him as the Gestahlian Empire assaults the base? Remember being chased out of the imperial city and forever prevented from returning by the giant guard robot? Remember defending the Narshe caves from Empire troops with nothing but a pack of moogles? Remember attempting to sneak through Empire-occupied towns as Locke? Remember taking a Castle....under the desert to another part of the world to avoid Imperial forces?

The Empire was looking for you. Other games did it right...13 did it wrong.

Quote:

Incorrect Cat, there were ways to beat them, that's the beauty of X it gave you options and potentials, things you could do in combat other than *smack dude in face*. For me I bribed and gil grinded, my friend cleverly found a way to break the economy of the game by buying cheap and making better equipment. Then I go up and dump on Yojimbo until he cut a path. For my richer friend he actually had bribed so many monsters he REBUILT the Sphere grid to his designs and fought them. Point is there is something...rewarding about doing these...the temples often provided extra dialogue and hints towards hidden story elements and that's where they didn't provide actual benefits like Auron's sphere or a component for Tidus' ultimate weapon.

The missions in 13 were a terrible form of sidequesting, with little actual perceived reward other than experience. It didn't feel worthwhile at any point.

As for you not hearing it I posted a source. People complained the game didn't feel complete and were outraged at the thought that the "To be continued" was another game since it essentially meant a game ending was ransomed in another game. They came out and said it alluded to DLC and not another game. If it's not a promise it's definitely deceptive marketing manoeuvres which are just as bad.

Yeah, majority of the videos I looked at about fighting the Dark Aeons was the party either being overpowered or abusing Rikku's Mix Ability for Trio of 9999 and similar. That's not fun. And you say you mostly bribed. That's even worse, that's boring to go through for who knows how long it can take to get a Bribe go through or even for Trio of 9999 to work out.
I'd rather have this "battle system that plays itself" than having to repeatedly select the mix ability. I'd rather just literally "smack dude in face" than do that for a good 10 minutes until the battle is over.

And yes, I completely forgot about Banon. I hated that part of the game as a child. I don't remember being thrown out of an Imperial City and not returning. The moogles VS empire troops was more about wanting someone back alive, Tina/Terra, instead of killing them. Locke in South Figaro? I'll give you that, although I mostly never saw it as much... if I talked or touched any of the really big magitek guys, I don't really remember being insta-killed by them. Figaro under the sand I thought was done for different reasons, once you unlocked the chance to travel under the sand easily.

I never said they were. I merely pointed out that doing them all with 5 Stars would net a Trophy and that being at Max Crystarium is counterintuitive to that.

You mean like talking with Shiva's Fayth late in the game? Something you could do just fine, without the bother of fighting Dark Shiva in the non-international/PAL version? That was a neat little thing, but it didn't change, whether you actually had the ability to fight Dark Shiva in your game or didn't.

And like I said: I didn't know of any promise and I don't care. I liked XIII-2's Ending, I thought it felt pretty final. Poor complaining players, who think it automatically means a bad game if the heroes actually don't win~! As for the Light DLC, I found it nice. I don't think it answered any more than the storyline itself did, or even the Datalog, but it was neat to actually control Light in the game for once. I'm still hyped to play LR.

It has things in it that I like! (Also has things in it that I don't like, I'm still looking forward to it) Is it that terrible? Jeez, just let me like my goddamn game. You're sounding like the jerks on GameFAQs, who think I should be burned because I dare to admit that I like Skyward and not needlessly hate on it and exaggerate its flaws.

And we are really getting off-topic.

Sure we're getting off topic but when you keep putting up points that seem...wrong to me I can't help myself :P

So you would opt for mindless combat over clever, tactical ploys that make use of party members unique abilities and interesting unique ways of solving problems?

Well that's a personal preference I suppose...a baffling one to me though. Having options and variety is what makes RPGs fun in my eyes.

You can hate that bit all you like, it doesn't make it any less of a valid point. You were hunted, you sneak into the imperial city and if you try and return there's a massive robot that prevents you from returning by being...well invincible. The Moogles vs Empire troops is still...being hunted, sure they will capture you but who's to say they wouldn't kill Locke? Besides there's no guarantee it would be instant death for the crew in XIII neither after all...Barthandalus had...some kind of plans for them for all we know he could have captured them and made them fight him there and then. Also you could talk to the magitek guys because you were in disguise, why? Because you were being hunted and sneaking through the city. I'm pretty sure you take out a sleeping guard or something for the uniform. Figaro under the sand was done because you were fleeing from Kefka, it was pretty much Edgar making his countries' stance in the war clear but it was still a pretty memorable and impressive evasive manoeuvre against the Empire.

Then do you agree that XIII's missions are of little to no merit or sense of fulfilment? Unless you are one of those folks crazy about trophies I suppose.

Well sure but the Dark Aeons are seen as a boon by many people...people who like the challenge who like the bosses who like the extra content. I know many Americans who were jealous of it though with the upcoming HD collection I'm told it'll have them in.

I thought it felt final until they said 'To be continued' the music was a tad...unfitting but sure I didn't mind the fact it turned out pretty bad, it was a shame as I quite liked SnowxSerah but hell the game had already shaken that up a fair bit earlier (personally I think they wanted distance from Snow so the shipping community could have more leeway with Noel).

Also it's not that you can't like it. It's the derogatory way you treat those who have objections to it.
People are just as entitled to hate something for legitimate reasons as you are to like something. Yet you don't think critically and dismiss their opinions by calling them "Complainers" and "Poor complaining players" with an air of condescension and mockery. You basically insult anyone who reads your post who disagrees with you by demeaning them like that.

Sure I'd like to change your mind on XIII, as a franchise I think it's all show and wasted money and I hope sales of Lightning Returns might show that if it gets Square's head in the game but I know you can have it your way without insults.

I am a completionist and do like to collect Trophies, yes. But I will say that some of the late-numbered Mission fights are some of the most interesting and harder ones in the game, which makes them a nice challenge to do. Plus, several of the Mission battles and Boss battles, require you to have your strategy of the battle planned out before really encountering them. (Which is the good thing about the retry option, if you have the wrong strategy, you don't have to make your party basically a sitting duck to get them killed and reload the save, you can just exit immediately without waiting)

And there I will point out a big difference between the English and Japanese version. The English version uses Ne World by Charice which is very upbeat and happy, so it is unfitting when, shortly after the song starts up, bad things start going down. The Japanese version uses Fukui Mai's Yakusoku no Basho (Promised Place) which is more a song about love.

Funny thing is, both songs are a very similar melody, where New World almost feels like the same song, but more upbeat lyrics and theme. Just that Yakusoku no Basho has a slower, more relaxed melody and can be a bit sad and more fitting, with the sad part of the Ending. Looking at a translation of the lyrics, I feel like saying while the song is about love and sort of about future, it sort of seems to focus more on Sera and Light's want to see each other.

I've decided to take a break from the Attack on Titan avatars and use something different.

So I pick Hector Barbossa from The Pirates of the Caribbean. xD

XD Easily one of the cooler characters from that show, clear to see why they brought him back.

Also Phi looks very pretty in your avatar.

He's my favourite character from the movies. He makes them, in my opinion.

I've been thinking of changing my avatar, since I've had it for some time now. I'm not sure what it should be, though.

Changed my avatar to Elizabeth from Kuroshitsuji.
The picture is a fanart, done similarily to a page of her in the manga. This takes place during the Campania Ship Arc and if you know exactly when, I think you'll agree that this is a pretty awesome scene of Lizzie! I love her even more when I see this scene!
