This is true of a lot of online games. If you constantly leave in the middle of matches, you'll get banned. The game/other players have no way of knowing if you leave the match to troll, because you ragequit, or because your internet gave out. It sucks to get punished just because your internet is bad, but if your internet can't handle the game, you... just shouldn't be playing. (If you're disconnecting you probably won't be having that much fun, and you're also ruining the experience of the other people.)

I'm actually glad that they're doing something like this. This hopefully means that we get a LOT less rage quitters... (~,~);

Brawl's netcode was atrocious already, so hopefully the servers are actually playable this time around.

And hopefully, we won't get any super stutter lag. In brawl, it was... Really painful to play. :/

And I remember the match making being really bad as well... :/

Couldn't stand the people who were able to just sit in a corner, taunt, and then run away when you finally managed to make it over to them. The game was nearly unplayable online. Playing with friends was less of a problem, but it was still horrible compared to better MP games that weren't on the Wii.

Well I'm probably going to be playing a lot of it with friends on Local Wireless anyway so hopefully their code will work fine for that.

Unless of course we get a good community for SSB4 here.

I never really did the online play because of the lag myself, but I'd occasionally do spectator mode just because sometimes it'd be entertaining to watch.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I never quite understood that argument... I mean, they all control SOMEHOW the same. So even if you suddenly told me to play... umm... Luigi, who I ever rarely played (except in Melee or Brawl, when I did a mission that required to control him), I could still fight decently with him after 3ish minutes of figuring out his moves.

Yeah but the moves are all different, the buttons are the same but the ranges and effects and EVERYTHING ELSE is different and takes getting used to.

As I said, two or three rounds of "try every button" would result in my being decent enough with a character... it's overall not that difficult.

It's not hard to know the moves and how to use them. It's that you need to be effective with your moves and mobility. Fox is a character with a lot of speed and power and with very good special moves. Everyone can use him to a certain extent, but maximizing his potential depends on who's controlling him. With no items and final destination you eliminate a lot of variables so only the player's skill remain. However, if someone has fox as his main then that means he has a lot more experience with the character than someone else (who for example mains Marth). In this case both players can USE fox, but the person who mains fox will probably win because he has more experience with the character.

So you'll understand WHY IT MATTERS that someone might not do well when combat is specified to one character by a player. It's like challenging an man with a broken arm to an arm-wrestling match if you choose the character because you know you are competent with them.

Is it just me or does it seem that Little Mac might be a tad bit overpowered in "For Glory" mode considering there's no platforms to balance out his ground advantage?

I'd doubt it, I've been wondering if it's actually going to drag him right down. A lot of moves will knock you up and leave you vulnerable.

Plus his recovery is quite awful, so considering that, one really strong move could pretty much seal his fate. It's actually not a bad trade-off to his amazing ground game.

Little Mac's going to be relying A LOT on dealing damage in order to compliment his fantastic smashes while avoiding the air like the plague. His aerial attacks and recovery are downright shit-tier. Float like a butterfly, STING LIKE A GROWN ASS MAN!

Lots of new screenshots for both the Wii U and 3DS versions. Since you can't link to images from there directly, there's also an imgur album here.

Some good ones:

Our current Pokémon lineup.

Image

Pray to the sprout or face the wrath of Villager.

Image

I wonder what Little Mac is looking for...

Image

Either Yoshi's going to be sick, or his head is about to explode. Either way, the Mario Bros. know to back off.

Image

Looks painful.

Image

Sheik is smart enough to get out of the way.

Image

Charizard and Sonic practicing their balancing act.

Image

Damn right you should be scared, Luigi.

Image

Little Mac must be at least this tall to ride the Samus.

Also, saw this on NeoGAF, thought some of you would like to see a good comparison of Zero Suit Samus between Brawl and this game:

Yet another "leak" comes fourth (heh). This time in the form of the character select screen.

Gotta say, even though it's probably fake (Wario appears to be directly ripped from one of his Brawl poses), I still love the look of it.

I'd say my problem with the picture is how the only character not yet revealed is Chrom.

I think a few more new characters will be revealed before launch.

Well, there are a few characters in there from Brawl that haven't yet been confirmed for SSB4.

But yeah, looks... plain. Would they really announce all the new characters before it's released?

If it's a fake, I gotta admit it looks pretty good. The only thing that's really bugging me is how Wario is in his 'classic' outfit, rather than his Warioware outfit.

The inclusion of the Ice Climbers is suspect too, since Sakurai has stated before that he was unsure about putting them in SSB4.

Not impossible, but suspect.
