These are pretty good for a first attempt.
Like the creator of Final Fantasy, I'm better at telling a story.

I'm no spriter, only an animator. I can make these into gifs. (Will post them in this thread soon.)

If you want some proper feedback/suggestions, I can recommend mercurialSK to you.

My thoughts:

They're pretty good. Definitely not bad for first time sprites, especially considering that they've mostly been made from scratch.

Recommendations:

-You need to work on the arms and hands, especially around the shoulders and elbows. In some sprites, her elbow is a different spot on her arm than in other sprites. You need to make sure she's anatomically consistent (I'm looking at her sprite where she's holding the paper... She has almost no forearm in that one). Also, you should adjust the seams around her shoulders in a few of the sprites (specifically the desk pound one, comes to mind).

-In a few of the sprites, she looks really thin. When she turns to the side, maybe thicken her up a bit.

-What is her right hand doing in the sprite where she touches her face? It looks like it's shoved down her pants.

I can think of more, but I don't have much time to write at the moment. I might add later. Good work so far.

Edit: Those were all referring to Margaret.

A sprite of a OC, but I need to show you my works first.

As of this post, I'm doing that right now. :hobohodo:

Done Channing Fey

I had to add a middle blinking sprite for the last set.

As for the sprite, I'll pm you with that in a moment.

Nice work! (I've seen these on dA as well!)
Just Margaret's face when looking to the side is kinda squished in. Maybe don't have her face so flat, and a protruding nose, and round it out. Other than that, a great start to spriting! All those poses are good practice!

Oh, I like your technique. The way your sprites are rendered is pretty nice. I'm a little confused why some lines are anti-aliased while others (the cords off Margaret's headphones, primarily) are uncleaned and not anti-aliased at all. Though one of her sleeves in the pose where she lifts a hand to her ear isn't shaded consistently with the other sprites.

I would say that the most pressing thing to improve right now is anatomy - specifically, understanding of the torso. This problem is most evident in Margaret's objection pose. (There is also the issue of objection startups having one frame only instead of the two you have there, but that's a minor detail compared to her torso.)

I look forward to seeing more of your work. :)

Looks great! the lines are nice and smooth, and the composition is well done! I really like it! :edgey:

If you want me to give you some nitpick-y advice, would I be able to slightly edit this sprite and explain the changes? (If I put it into words, it'll sound a lot larger an issue than it really is, so showing you might be easier)

I don't know too much about sprites but the collar, some of the lines on it look a little too flat, I guess? IDK also, maybe make the glasses a little bit rounder in shape, or change the color? they look a little blah right now~

I could change color but i don´t think i can´t make them rounder since the person told me to do it rectangular :payne:

I whipped this up last night, (just wanted your OK before uploading!)

Here:
Spoiler: Comparison
Image
A Transition

What I did:
- Added more shading to the hair (still using same palette)
- Rounded the collar and decreased the contrast of the lines
- Rounded and added more shading to the glasses (still using same palette)
- Added the black part of the eyes and detailed the eyebrows a little more (instead of them being black)

Here's the edit on it's own. You can use this if you want.

I agree- it looks great, and I meant more like not totally rounder, leav them rectangular, but make them a little les... flat, I guess? Like regular glasses always have a hint of curve, or of shading, or SOMETHING. I noticed this with mragret's glasses too- eeryhting eles is super pretty and shaded adn stuff and then the glasses just sort of look like lines....

Hessehl, I just want to tell you that it is unsafe for you to post the sprites of Turnabout Attorneys here on C-R.
The issue is that, people can easily use those sprites without permission and I don't feel confortable with that.

Just make people know that "Henry" can only be used with my permission.

I commented on size, not on height. Contrarily to your argument, it would be fine, were she to be shorter, actually. It's size, not height, that causes problems.

Given the proportions of the Judge's bench so far, I'd expect more something like this

Image

We shouldn't see too much of her body, since most of it chest down should be covered by the bench. If she's smaller, it doesn't make sense for her to be taller than Udgey and show more of her body above the bench as a result.
