Because the localizers need to change something to justify the existence of their job.

They're translating the thing, so they have already a good job at localizing it. I mean, I can understand changing Jin/Gin and Origin into Spyrix and Spyrite, respectively, since using 'Origin' would lead to confusion because Origin actually makes people (at least, most Tales players) think of the lord of spirits, Origin.

PS: And why do they act like Jude is this must-horribly-be-pitied, utterly broken man just because he can't see Milla in Xillia 2? This feels like Ran in Detective Conan ALWAYS being displayed as this broken bird who is all torn up inside because Shinichi isn't around. Booohooohooooo, I cannot see my sort-of-not-really-never-actually-established-potential-love-interest! Booohooo! :larry: GROW SOME! :tigre:

Ordered a copy of Sakura Wars 4. Was really happy to find out SW4 comes packed with a bonus disc with all the free DLC drama episodes for Sakura Wars 3. Considering that SW3 was released in 2001 and the DreamCast discontinued in the same year, it had kinda given up on getting my hands on the DLC.

"Ark Noah" and "Exodus" are both references to the Old Testament. Both of those stories could apply to the group in Xillia,
Spoiler:
(they're about to kill a perceived evil in the form of the rest of humanity in hopes of salvation, while they also feel imprisoned in Rieze
Maxia and try to escape)

but I'm guessing the localization team thought the latter was more fitting. Either way, it's still giving away their motives the moment you hear their name.

Well, yeah, I know what they are referring to. But somehow, Ark Noah... sounds better.

Spoiler: Xillia Exodus/Ark Noah
Referential to how their ship (somehow) made it through the shell and landed from Elympios into Rieze Maxia. Not entirely sure if there were only 'two of every kind' on that ship, but you know.

Exodus actually sounds weird. It's like how, before I played Symphonia, I thought 'Kvar' was a monster and 'Cruxis' referred to a person. While, technically, the first part is correct (Kvar is a complete monster of a person), it was still not what I thought.

Initial Reaction to Japanese Alt Milla: HOLY SHIT! I instantly like you, because you have some FUCKING EMOTION in your voice acting! HOLY SHIT, I immediately deem you BETTER than Prime Milla! :beef:

Nintendo is still good with DLC, though. Just look at Hyrule Warriors. The game was already quite long as is, and the DLC added on 200+ hours of gameplay. Masahiro Sakurai himself said that DLC these days is a scam, as they make you pay full price for an unfinished game and make you pay extra for stuff that should have just been in the original game. *cough* Asura's Wrath *cough*

You mean like Costumes, Nintendo? Why should I have to download a way-too-high-leveled Map and fight my way through things I am underleveled for JUST for the sake of getting a damn costume. Huh, Nintendo? Ever thought of that? I would much rather just have gotten Costume DLC, so I can use the costumes whenever I want, rather than get frustrated at redoing a map several times, just so I can get the blue dress palette swap for Zelda. :ron:

Also Hyrule Warriors is REALLY grindy and repetitive, so I can't say adding 200+ hours of THE SAME gameplay was really worth it.

Yeah but all "Warriors" games are Grundy and repetitive...they appeal to people who like that grind.

Also you're not really paying for the costumes so much as you're paying for the map and the costumes are a reward for beating the map

IIRC the map rewards are just pallete swaps where the costumes that actually change the look of the characters are DLC

Still. I see no reason why I should grind for a damn palette swap.

I got Yuri's route and ending in Nameless. After having to reload a few times because, fuck you, if you don't do the EXACT right answer, you get a Game Over/Bad Ending. Now, there is DEFINITELY something up with Tei. And that weird-ass Narrator that pops up (who, I believe is the titular Nameless... cause the credits listed it next to (???) which is the dialogue title used for the narrator) and is just weird. I'm still staying away from spoilers as much as I can.

Spoiler: Nameless - Theory
My character is in a coma. And the narrator keeps talking to me, giving me 'happy' moments with the dolls - who seem to be sentient from the get go - because something hugely tragic happened. Like, I dunno, car crash and Eri is technically a vegetable.

Currently downloading the open beta for Metal Gear Online 3, which finally came over to PC. I'm not entirely optimistic though, considering I heard that the console version wasn't that good.

Amazon rolled out a new 20% off all physical pre-orders policy for Prime members. Not sure how many regions it covers, but I just know that it came out just in time for me to order Estival Versus. Sexy Boob Ninjas is probably my most looked forward to game on my Vita.

Would love to play one of the old JoJo fighting games. Then again the new ones look pretty impressive too.

Started watching JoJo's original series after watching the Stardust Crusaders OVA.

The original Capcom arcade fighting game is pretty fun, and the PlayStation version-exclusive Super Story Mode is what got me originally interested in the franchise (many, many years ago). The game was released here in the West too (I still have the disc somewhere). Other versions (DreamCast, PSN/XBXLA) are closer to the original arcade game, it seems, but the SSM is only available in the PS version.

“Get a room, you two.” +Jude
Why!? Why would THIS be positive for Jude!? For one, he would NEVER like that type of teasing, he hates it! It's the entire reason WHY he's so awkward around Muzét, especially when she teases him about direct-tethering! You are making me say something (technically in-character) as Ludger to Jude, who would HATE that as an answer! What the HELL are you doing, Namco?! (Upside: That's not what the Japanese version says, it says something entirely else. Something that doesn't even have that kind of teasing line in it remotely)

Fuck it, I'm gonna go back and write my Jude-Leia fanfic... :sadshoe:

I have to mention this, before I go back to sleep and forget it when I wake up the next time. Had a dream segment about Xillia. And it was mostly about costumes. First, it confused me cause it looked like a post-battle screen in a forest and I could change the costumes there. First thing I noticed... is that Milla had two versions of Jude's medical school outfit as a costume option.
The first was basically the medical school outfit itself, but the top looked a bit more like a patient's gown top - you know, a flap-over and tied on the side. And it included the typical post-battle victory chatter. Jude was surprised she had an outfit like his, but Milla mentions that they (villagers of Nia Kheria, I suppose) made the outfit for her and he said he knew, he heard them talk... and then mentions he at least knows the top is 'real'. (Probably a reference to this skit)
The second version was basically Jude's outfit itself - with making Milla's breasts much smaller, turning her into a pettanko. Also, it included an Assassin's Creed-style hoodie on it...

I also could switch to a genderswap version of the game... first of, 'Judey' looks abso-freaking adorable! She was in a maid outfit similar to Leia's. She was complimenting 'Miles' and wanted to, shyly, offer to shake his hand... and then Gaius came running (he and Rowen, apparently, didn't change gender; don't ask me) and demanded to know what 'Judey' wanted and mentioned Evangelion. 'Judey' apologized a lot... so, apparently, to me a female Jude would be a bit similar to Tomoko from Watamote, too... Hey, I ain't complaining. But Milla should get an outfit that lowers her breast size. (Like LR with the suits for Lightning)

Back to bed. Maybe I'll dream up more costumes that I'll eventually draw.

I got Consortium for free as part of this weekend's deal, did a playthrough, and... it was fun, but I don't think I'm going to do another one.

Mostly because Consortium is a "mystery FPS," but in the 'or' sense, not the 'and' sense--if you're a good enough detective you can avoid all the shoot-outs, and you can completely ignore the mystery and just shoot out everyone in your way.

Naturally, I opted for solving the mystery (identified the traitor in my first conversation with them!) rather than doing any FPS work. And while it seems like there's oodles of content in the myriad of choices and branches within the game, I think I got basically the one route with absolutely no FPS in it. So if I did more playthroughs, I'd need to either explore the permutations within the "mystery-only" branch, which would be boring and repetitive, or make decisions that would lead me to FPS sections, which just... wouldn't work out.

Ah well, at least there's Youtube LPs.

I just hope it's possible to beat the sequel without any FPS sections, just like this game.

My one wish left after Smash 4 basically put almost everything i have ever wanted in a fighting game is that Disney would team up with Capcom to make a Vs game that's basically an MVC4 but with Disney and Star wars stuff in the mix.

I mean something like Hercules fighting Zero while characters like Darth Vader, Ryu, Goliath and Wolverine sit as support characters, it sounds so freaking amazing.

Disney don't "team up". They " acquire".

But hey it means more cool worlds on my Kingdom Hearts games. Plus Disney already own Marvel heh so they could swing a Disney representative in MVC if they wanted I bet. Like how Namco snuck in PAC Man to Smash because they made the game
