Marley scratched his chin. It was far harder to be so confrontational in person and the silence hung awkwardly for a spell.

"Well then..." He started before lighting a cigarette to pass time.

"Zero how many more of these do we have to go? Also what was in the safe? Hope it wasn't a key." He asked unable to actually voice the frustration he felt.

"I'm almost positive Iota is Zero. But that doesn't matter, you can see why." Jen cleared her throat.

"Now, to answer the elephant in the room. Which one of you 3 wanted to pull a Jack and try to kill us all? Because you three now have FOUR people willing to kill any of you."

Marley nodded in agreement "Aye its in part a test, ah think ah speculated that old Daniel was Zero so maybe without young Daniel, Zero fades away too?" He spat on the floor.

"Is f**ked up though, young Daniel might no have done anything yet. Think das what Zero meant when 'e said he was innocent."

"I think it was Chanel, but that's just a hunch. I also agree that Iota was probably Zero." Fauna thinks for a moment, feeling like she forgot something. "Oh, right. Before any of you guys get trigger happy on Trinity, I lied about seeing her push the button--I spent the phase watching my back. But given that there was no way to tell who pushed it, I thought a bluff might give us some sort of clue. I got the idea from a video game lawyer, but I guess it didn't work as well here." Fauna laughs nervously, awkwardly lifting her hand towards Trinity in some form of apology.

Marley's eyes narrowed with obvious venom towards Fauna

"Y'think yer f**kin' video game antics will f**kin fly here? Peoples lives were at stake ya piece of s**t! Cube could have came out of there guns blazing and killed Trinity already for what you had f**kin' said back there!" Marley spat teeth clenched on his cigarette.

"Calm down, there was no way Cube would do that considering he couldn't know whether or not I was lying. We're all on edge here, but we won't make any progress if we don't take risks instead of just throwing blind accusations. All things considered, a bluff was a safe bet."

Trinity let out a small sigh of relief. N had admitted to her lie about seeing Trinity press the button... except now they were a longer way off from finding the traitor. Trinity thought N was still suspicious from lying, but... she could have been telling the truth.

"I'll defend myself and s-say I didn't do it until I'm blue in the face... but otherwise, all I'm going to say is that the fact we've b-been kidnapped by a bunch of monsters shouldn't cause us to t-turn into monsters ourselves."

"Did one of us try to kill 3 people though? I feel like that's fallacious. I whipped through our puzzle in no time, and that was with no lives at stake. Realistically, I don't see how anyone could have been trying to kill you guys unless they were extremely ignorant or were able to kill me," Chanel says pointedly.

"It's more likely the culprit just wanted to distract us from the safe puzzle. Put yourself in the decision-makers shoes for a second and think about how risky and absurd it would be to assume anyone would die from a couple of tricky puzzles. None of the nine of us have ever even died on accident to one."

"We were told the puzzles would be extremely difficult, and they were, especially puzzles 2 and 3. Had Marley not done his trick, I don't think they'd be solved.

"It's no secret that you're the most capable puzzle-solver out of all of us, Mari. Killing you wouldn't be necessary if you were the one who pushed the button and made little effort to solve the puzzles." Fauna twirled her hair around her fingers nervously. "However, I don't think anything will be gained out of finding the culprit unless delivering justice is what you guys are most concerned about. Zero gave us the button to create discord and he succeeded. Finding out who pushed the button will only tell us who pushed the button. It won't tell us why we're here, the mystery surrounding everything that's happened, or who Zero is."

Marley mulled over what was said "Also, depends if we believe that Jack f**in' screwed up the first one on purpose. We were also pretty strapped for a while in the bar with it's puzzle...also the way it was going Cube woulda snuffed it alongside Turbo if we hadn't busted in the door giving him another way out." he retorted to Maribelle "Just cause puzzle's are nuthin' to you Mari ain't no reason to assume they ain't dangerous to the rest of us" he said rolling his eyes.

"What did you get out of it anyway?" he asked suddenly "What was the incentive for f**kin' with us so much?"

"T'be honest I don't give a f**k why we're here jus' so long as we can get out. Zero's likely dead so the one who put us all here is done and I'm happy with that. All we have to do is survive till the end then figure out a way out. That's why I'm so....so disappointed that one of ye still wanted to screw everything up here." he said shaking his head and leaning back "Maybe Zero 'ad a sympathiser eh? Someone who's mighty bitter about everything so far and just wants us all to burn now." he suggested

"I doubt it was a Zero sympathizer. As you said, our goal is to escape. If we take Zero at his word that only a third of us can leave, then thinning the numbers when given an easy opportunity is 'logical.' So it seems to me that the one who pushed it was just looking out for herself."

Marley spat his cigarette out and reloaded "Ye never gave a thought to mah plan huh?" he said lighting up. "If there's multiple bars, dere's multiple garages, multiple cars and multiple ways to escape right?" He blew a puff of smoke "We'd need to split into teams and never see the others again but don' see why we can't all get out." he flicked his lighter idly

"Besides, if'n Zero plans on us killing each other to get out of here, they'd probably give us a way to off ourselves until enough of us can leave. Even if it's just playing this f**kin lynch game over and over until only 3 are left. Ain't no point to killing us all off early so don't go trying to excuse it Mari." he paused to take a breath "Need ah remind you that you were only of the few people our likely Zero candidate Iota, recognised on startin' up 'ere? Youse most likely to be an assistant or connected to him in some way." he sighed letting out a puff of smoke as his head hung back and he idly gazed at the ceiling. "Mmm ah wonder what was behind that administrator's door. Her fear t'me suggested it was possible. Jus' not sure it's worth wasting a life on while there's murderous folks out there." he said

(Assuming you meant Fauna, not Mari)

"I did give thought to your idea that there were 3 garages. Hence why I didn't push the button. That doesn't mean Trinity or Chanel thought it was likely. I'm not excusing their behavior, I'm rationalizing it and saying that it's unimportant.

"As for Iota, I never recognized him. And if we were working together, I sure as hell wouldn't have him announce our connection for all of you to hear." Fauna took a deep breath and continued. "Regarding Iota, I agree he was suspicious as hell but there's one piece of evidence that casts doubt on him being Zero--two people voted for him twice. A coordinated vote like that tells me that two of us have been privately speaking to each other and I'd be willing to bet that's our Zero and assistant. I don't think Zero would put himself in a game with two people who recognized him and wanted to kill him, as well as adding the lynching rule.

"I think the best course of action for this lynching phase would be to not pile votes onto each other. If you voted for Iota in either round and you aren't Zero/working for him, please admit it and explain your reasoning to make this easier. If we find out that two people aren't working together to control the lynches, then it's safe for everybody to vote for themselves. That's the best course of action, as Zero obviously wants us to kill each other."

Marley shook his head "Like ah said...Iota was innocent, its his older self that's Zero. Of course Iota would announce stuff cluelessly because he had no idea what was going on."

"There ain't gonna be a way to tell which of youse pushed the button and frankly yer all suspicious as hell in the circumstances. Mari seemed almost enthusiastic to see the puzzles and didn't consider them a problem so what harm is there in pushing the button? Fauna you've been playing some f**ked up mind games to get Trinity the blame and no one can tell how serious you are about it. Trinity may be shy but she's also the most mysterious cautious and paranoid of the lot of ye!"

Marley stopped to catch his breath sighing dejectedly "Its an impossible call to make..." He muttered "but if ye wanna talk about secret communication, why don't ye reveal how you and Jen have this connection?"

"It was not a fucked up mind game to get Trinity to take the blame, it was the only reasonable way to find out something where we'd otherwise know nothing. I chose to accuse her instead of Mari because we know nothing about Trinity, and Tetra agreed. And speaking of that, we were only able to communicate during the last door phase, we can't anymore. Some weird phenomenon where we were able to experience dual realities. Trinity and Cube experienced it during an earlier round."

"Well excuse me for being paranoid and c-cautious in a death game!" Trinity retorted.

"...S-Sorry. Anyway, I don't think the person who pushed the b-button was a Zero sympathizer, and I also have a hunch that Marley's theory about three people getting t-to escape in each of the three timelines is right... So I also think that trying to eliminate p-people at this point is premature. Honestly, I have no idea why whoever pushed the button d-did it, since none of you four only had one l-life left, so there'd be four pissed off people in future rounds e-even if they died in the vault.

"Also it was me and Chanel had it h-happen to us. Well, it sounded like Cube also had it, but I t-think he was alone. Anyway, I checked Iota, and he just had a h-hammer and that empty dart gun from the garage."

"You could tell us your name now, Trinity. What about that?" Jen looked at Trinity as best as she could, before speaking again.

"So, Iota had an empty dart gun and a hammer? Weird, when it was Fauna and I he had the dart gun, an amber hair dye bottle, 2 figurines and a glass knife he stole from Fauna herself. Maybe we went in two different timelines?" Jen pondered.

"I have an unrelated question though, did Iota die 3 times or 2 times?"

"I, well... I still d-don't want to give info about myself in a game like this. It's not really i-important is it? The only person related to this game whose n-name we know but not appearance is Daniel Liddell, and that's obviously not m-my name. B-Besides, don't you know my name from when you q-questioned me? You should know that it hasn't had a-any connection to anything we've found.

"I don't think I'm really that m-mysterious... It's the opposite. There's just nothing that special about me, especially in a g-game with a magic hobo, pro wrestler, and cryogenics scientists."

Marley grinned and gave a cheeky shrug "Sorry Trin but you justifying being paranoid doesn't change the fact its a possible reason to push the button but ya make me think of somethin'" he paused to think for a moment about Trinity's words. "If there was a Zero sympathiser...then getting us at each others throats would be plenty of reason to try and kill a team that have plenty of lives left for aggression in future rounds." He muttered "F**kin' problem is ah can't justify lynching any of you three because its an impossible mystery. Unless one of you can actually prove another did it there's no way to know whether ah'm lynching an innocent."

"And Fauna...I wouldn't rule it out. Rules didn't say nothing about breaking down doors neither, in fact pretty much declared those rooms inaccessible." He chuckled "Was plenty chance for Cube to shoot anyone before he sat down. Though maybe you raise a good point, maybe he's just waiting till the next round before the rules let him shoot." He shrugged

Marley nodded in Turbo's direction "Anyway ye raise a fair point. Its why I'm constantly checking to see if Zero speaks up. There was meant to be a benefit to killing him...maybe that comes with the consequence of not getting any more information...maybe the benefit is something we can't see." Marley lit a fresh cigarette and chucked another stub on the pile "Plus s'far as ah can see Iota only lost two lives."

"Sorry Turbo, I realize how I came across, but I had just genuinely missed you when going through which of us had died," Chanel admits. "I probably need to calm down a little since the atmosphere's a little suffocating."

"Jen, if you could, please describe it to me, there's a lot of badges here and I can't seem to remember which was yours," she frowns.

"Anyway, Trinity, did you know anything about Jen at all from that time you were questioned? Also could you clarify when it happened?"

"It's a normal police badge. That's about it." Jen said in response to Mari.

"Trinity was questioned in a case where she was found near the body of a Caulderwood. I don't know much about her, but it didn't seem like she was the culprit. We had 0 leads so I stopped following the case."

"Oh okay, I mean that's still valuable knowledge. I was under the impression nobody could validate Jen's existence at any point, which is part of why I kept the police badge," Chanel says to Trinity.

"When I saw the badge, I couldn't help but want to test it."
