"It would be difficult to follow up on that." Dale agreed. "You didn't know for sure he'd left, even if you did, you didn't know for sure where he went, it was too dark to see. Even if you tried to follow him, the earthquake happened then, at which point Anissa claimed the basement door was locked anyway. In short I see no way for you to have killed him, or for anyone else in the foyer to have for that matter. That significantly rounds down our list of suspects."

"Actually..." Dale scratches head in thought again, thinking back to earlier events. "You know when I said the mess in the bar looked weird? I think I know why. I thought the mess was caused by the earthquake, but thinking back, it didn't look... right, somehow. Things were moved about, but only slightly, and most of them all piled up towards the front of the room. I don't think a normal earthquake, where things just shake, would cause that."

The masked boy's expression suddenly lights up. "O-oh, wait, I just remembered a detail about the mess in the foyer! Everything happened to be slightly moved from where it used to be, w-with most objects kinda piling to the front of the room. That's, uh...not really typical of an earthquake where everything just shakes..."

"So the earthquake pushed the stuff in the bar off to one side but in the auditorium stuff was all over the place? Doesn't that mean the quake originated in the auditorium? Maybe it has something to do with the soundsystem in there? If you think about the map, the door of the bar is the side farther away from the auditorium."

"So... the earthquake had sonething to do with the power network resetting since the light came back on RIGHT as the quake ended. I'm also thinking that since the movement of items was directional but limited to upstairs, the upstairs area shifted causing the quake...? Ughh, this is complicated." Lyla holds her forehead.
