Kagayaki put her finger to her head. “Here’s everything that happened in this case!And uh, I’ll use everyone’s first names so it’s easier to follow.”

“The killer had to simultaneously murder Sir… er… Terry, and give themselves an alibi.”

“So they made themselves the presumptive target, and went about setting up their own murder. First thing’s first-- the killer knocked out Terry using something from the Poker Room-- probably one of the tools that we’d brought there for repairing the leg. But in the process, the table leg that had been reattached was broken again. So the killer had to ditch the newly broken table leg, or find a way to hide it. But they remembered, or saw Sachiko and Momo taking away trash, and so the killer elected to simply put the broken table leg in with the refuse. This would later factor into the killer’s plan.”

“From the Poker Room, the killer went through the Party Supply room, picking up the rubber tubing as they went. Then, they opened the window, and jumped out. They pulled the trolley, with the air compressor, to the window they’d just jumped out of, and outfitted the air compressor with the rubber tubing, so that it would blow through the tubing.”

“Then, they turned the air compressor on, and used it as a stepping stool to get back into the Craps room. They held onto the rubber tubing, and stretched it across the room, using duct tape to tape it to the ground in inconspicuous places, to avoid being discovered. This is when they took the bamboo chute from its display placard and the spear from its display.”

“Then, the killer stretched the rubber tubing through the door and into the Party Supply Room. They then used that door to cut off the airflow through the tube. They then jammed the door between the Animatronics Showroom in order to prevent S from coming in and disturbing the killer as they set up the murder.”

“They then used the padding in the door between the Party Supply Room and the Poker Room to hold the bamboo chute at a steady angle. The killer then waited, in the poker room with an unconscious Terry. Because Terry had asked not to be disturbed, the killer had no fear of being found out early.

“The killer then sat in the path of the spear, waiting for someone to trigger the trap that they themselves had laid.”

“The killer might have gotten away with it unscathed, but they made two critical errors. The first is that they didn’t realize that Terry was a theatrical actor-- and the armor he was wearing was merely a prop. When Dale triggered the trap, the spear was shot at such force that it propelled the spear through Terry’s prop breastplate and stabbed themselves as well.”

“The second miscalculation was that, because of the nature of the trap, the killer only had a few moments to prepare the crime scene before it was discovered. They had planned to get rid of the chute by supergluing it to the broken table, ‘repairing it’ where the leg had been broken off. The table was covered with a cloth, so unless someone bothered to look underneath it, there would be no way to tell.”

“But because they didn’t have much time, or maybe because they didn’t count on being stabbed themselves, they were a few steps too slow. They managed to separate the bamboo chute from the door, the stretched rubber tube snapping back to the air compressor outside. In the process of hiding the chute, they rushed and got superglue on their own hand. They didn’t realize it until they’d retaken their place, sitting in a chair and being re-stabbed with the spear that had impaled Terry. A piece of their own clothing got stuck to their hand, and they inadvertently ripped it off.”

“That’s why the killer can be none other than you…Lady Reed, The Ultimate Humanitarian!”

“Looks like you guys were….WRONG! The one who killed Terry Carlson was...Terry Carlson!”

The words are like a slap to the face. A feeling of complete despair spreads throughout the room.

"It was...Terry?" Silas looked like he was about to vomit.

"Nah, just kidding." Monokuma laughed. "You guys got it right--it was Penelope."

“P-Penelope, why?!” Molly hugged herself.

“Goddamnit!” Casey shouted. “I-I don’t believe it! Tell us it was self-defense!”

“Terrence was trying to kill you after all, right?!” Dale seemed outraged, betrayed.

“A-All of you shut up!” Momo shouted.

Heads turned towards him. He clenched his fists and stared at the ground. “I-I’m tired of listening to you guys! I...you don’t know what Terry was going through!”

“Ah, Daddy ‘Mo!” Terrence shouted as Momo walked in the room. “What brings you here?!” He clumsily hid the Necronomicon behind his back but it was still clearly visible.

“Don’t give me that!” Momo shouted. “I-I heard Dallas earlier! What did you do?! You’ve been acting suspicious all day!”

Terrence looked away. “You’ve found me out then. Well I’m sorry. There’s nothing you can do to stop me. If killing someone is what it takes for me to get out of here, then I’ll do it. Even if it sullies my honor.”

Momo shook his head. “I-I won’t let you! Terrence, c-come on...don’t do it.”

“I’m afraid nothing can stop my murderous intentions.” He turned his back to Momo and looked in the Necronomicon. Despite his true talent, it was...too obvious.

“What are you waiting for?” Terrence asked. “I promise that I’ll kill someone if that’s what it takes to bring Spark back. I...I owe him that much. Plus, you want to see your brother again, right? He doesn’t have much time left. It won’t do for you to die here.”

Momo knew immediately.Terry wanted Spark to live more than ever. He wanted to help Momo too. And...he didn’t want Momo to feel bad about it.

Momo didn’t answer the call, and ran out of the room in tears. “Y-You’re no knight!”

“H-He was so sad. But even in the e-end, he didn’t want anyone to get hurt!” Momo pointed at Penelope. “She didn’t kill in self-defense! I know it!”

“Terry wanted to die? He cared about his friend that much?!” Sachiko was in tears. “O-Oh Terry!”

“So, Lady Reed. Did you take on Lord Cardor’s request?”

Her face was darkened. She seemed to be repressing a lot of feelings and monotonously forced her words out. “I too, suspected he was going to kill. I confronted him and...he made me the same offer. He said he had already written a name in the book, and he offered to help me escape as long as I took the book with me and burnt the page proper after some amount of time.”

“Y-You were doing all of this for Terry, then?!” Casey was crying. “No wonder you weren’t confessing, you couldn’t have just thrown for his sacrifice away! Oh Penelope, you’re too swee-”

“I didn’t accept his offer.” She cut Casey off. “I never intended to use the Necronomicon--the thought is an atrocity. I heard his story and then decided, of my own will, that I was going to take his life.”

“Y-You…” Lyla seemed to be apprehensive of what was coming next. “...what?”

“John was right about all of you.”
