After someone explains the circumstances of the crime to her, she nods to herself.
"Geez, poor guy. It's kind of obvious what happened though. Surprised y'all haven't figured it out yet."
"So basically, the crime scene is set up to make it look like someone beat Domanic in a fight and shot him dead. But this is impossible, right? Everybody was in the kitchen, or with someone else. I was in a vent, and Zakuro was washed away. So it don't look like there was any way for the killer to get in there with Domanic.
"We've been going off the assumption that the bullet that killed Domanic went from the gun, through him, and out into the room. But he only has one entry wound, so why is the bullet lying on the floor? It should still be in his body, right? Well maybe we've got this the wrong way round. In fact, I'm betting that ain't an entry wound at all—it's an exit wound!
"Remember that newspaper article we read about that big shootout? Supposedly one of the thieves escaped with the money and became super rich. Big shootout, loaded with cash—sounds like Domanic, right? But if every thief in that shootout was seriously injured, I'm betting Domanic was shot too. And maybe that old bullet was still in him all this time!
"There's some other evidence y'all haven't explained yet. Mainly that program in the hull that was supposed to be picking stuff up from the ocean and that huge electromagnetic arm on the ship...Getting the picture yet?
"One of the werewolves guessed from the article that Domanic was toting some lead, so they set up that program to bring the arm over the helm during the third task. Then all they had to do was hang out in the kitchen as the magnet did their work for them, ripping the bullet straight out of Domanic and leaving the blood loss to the do the rest. And you know who would have had a good opportunity to do that? Griffin, while he was pretending to help with the second task!"
She tried to point dramatically at Griffin but ended up smacking her hand against the bars. She waved it about, in quite a bit of pain.
"Anyway, that's my theory. Also I'm betting that weird coil was involved, but I ain't sure what the deal with that is."

The words clearly stung, as Vera did nothing but watch, keeping her terrified expression. Nonetheless, she shakes her head and balls up her fists. "I know it was wrong! I realized that when I almost died last time, don't you think?!" She yells out, clearly desperate and holding back tears. "What do you think I should've done? Just admit it all in front of everyone and get even more ostracized?!"

Zarmilla’s face fell at Vera’s response, her righteous fury seeming to dissolve from her face.
“You know what? Whatever. Ain’t nothing to do but vote for you now,” she added, “I don’t think there’s much hope left for you, Vera. But you have a right to know this, at least. When I was having that phone call, I had your parents give up all of your assets. Thought maybe it would do you some good, but I guess we’ll never know.”
