Case 1: The Defense Lobby 2002 and Search ~ Core 2002 themes play
Case 2: Tonosoman's Ballade and Search ~ Core 2002 play
Case 3: Detention Center 2002 music plays while visiting the defendant, haven't gotten far enough in yet.

Is there anyone that can tell me why?

Personally, I thought Search ~ Core 2002 was a bit overplayed.

2) The Steel Samurai Ballad fit where it was used pretty well.

3) The defendant in this case is from JFA, too, soo....

as for the searches, beats me.

I don't recall it being in the original, GBA, version.

Well, it doesn't hurt to reuse old game music. In JFA, there were plenty of old music in that as well.

I was wondering that, too. Kinda confused me why they didn't use the GS3 music too much.

Spoiler: Case 5
But holy shit it was awesome when Investigation ~ Cornered 2001 kicked in during the climax. EPIC.

That makes me kinda sad, actually. That music held a lot of emotional value for me.

Spoiler: Huge Ass JFA Spoilers
I always associated it with the "True" Matt Engarde, and that dark night at the detention center. Overusing it kinda makes it lose it's emotional value and impact.

I did notice the overplaying of Core 2002. It definitely wasn't in the GBA version - at least, not as much. :yuusaku:

There should've been a Core 2004.

And now, I just walked into the Criminal Affairs Dept. And Search ~ Core 2002 plays again. Out of nowhere.

Yeah... It's kinda weird. Some music seems to just be placed randomly, almost. I don't really know what they were thinking, it's not the same as the other games at all, with the fairly clearly defined themes for certain people, places and events. Although some still have a theme (like the Lordly Tailor, I really like that theme!).

Hey JFA's music is very underrated so I'm glad to see some back. I suppose the Detention Center one plays for the reason Mikker stated. And probably because you never saw Maggs in the Detention Center in JFA. Meh.

While I'm here, is Maya's theme remixed again?

Its the same one as JFA (in the GBA one at least)

Well actually...

Spoiler: T&T
It's a remixed version, it's actually Investigation ~ Cornered 2004, or something like that. (It was for the GBA, so I assume it's the same for the DS)

Also, as for search core 2002...

Spoiler:
It also plays a LOT in case 5!

This sig needs to be changed soon...

I like Search Core 2002 because each time it plays it has a special meaning.

Spoiler:
Matt Engarde's revelation comes in mind in particular, but there's also an event in 3-5 which I can't put my finger on...

Yup, that's what I was getting at too. I feel the exact same way about it.

Spoiler:
I mean, when you think about it in that same sense, it held a lot of special meaning because of that incident with Matt.

The song is dark, and it's powerful. I hope it's not overused TOO bad.

Let's just put it this way.

If you find out that someone may have had the tiniest, almost irrelevant connection to the current case, it plays. If you gain a new, important piece of evidence or info, it plays.

It plays and plays and plays.

I was hoping to hear more of Search Core - 2002 in T&T because it was only used for, like, the last case. Also, Search Core - 2001 plays in every game but you don't see anyone complaining about that. I would have died of happiness if I had heard 2002 playing in Case 2. I just think 2002 was used a bit more in Case 3 than I would have liked.

Spoiler: 3-3
I mean, there wasn't even any special meaning behind the whole computer virus thing except to create a sense of impending doom.

A few more:

"Congratulations Everyone" (PW1) plays when you talk to Desire DeLite

"Eccentric" (Hotti Clinic music from JFA) plays at Blue Screens Inc.

Yea, I noticed that too but I thought they were used rather appropriately and brought back some nostalgic moments from the previous games. I felt like "Yes, this is the game that will end it all" or something like that.

Yeah, core 2002 is used a lot in case 5, but I thought it fit pretty well. Maybe because I didn't even remember that the first time it played in JFA was during that spoilery event.
