This stage seems to be... different... but what confuses me is HOW to complete the games... I've played Touched! Before, but that's it... do you have to move your character there...? Or is it like Smooth Moves...?

Yea, it's not like they can use the Roll the toilet paper down while fighting. I guess there just going to use the mini's that you can move around on, which actually may get boring since I don't think there are that many. They would have to pull from all the games to make sure it doesn't get repetitive.

The waioware stage seems awsome, but how many minigames are gonna be put in the stage.

So far what we've seen of the WarioWare stage's minigames are the kinds of games that are somewhat obvious for the Smash environment - dodging hazards. One wonders if there will be more eccentric ones included, like, say... the dancing stage.

How would they include a dancing stage? I guess maybe they could do a (DANCE! PRESS THIS BUTTON _) and whoever doesn't press that button gets hit. Warioware level is awesome and I can't wait to play it.

While looking through the Gamefaqs boards someone asked if this was the box art.

Image

I have to say this looks pretty damn legit, unlike the other fake "fan made" box art covers this one uses poses I've never seen before. Here is the original link to the site where you can pre order the game.

I concur. I have a feeling this weeks updates are gonna be great, maybe 1 major one, but any info is good. Hmmm... I wonder if they will say that you can perform an anti-grab tech to break a grab, you know, to stop those suicide kills, i.e. DK and Yoshi.

There is still so much stuff they havn't shown yet on the site it would be almost impossible to predict what they will update next. Here are just a few

Diddy's FS
PT's FS
ZSS's FS (if she has one)
Kirby's FS (we know from the trailer but...)
Wario's FS
Zelda's FS
Peach's FS
Fox's FS
Ike's FS
Meta Knight's FS

I just got 2 weeks up of updates just with FS's alone, and I didn't even include Snake <_<!

Man... that was pretty good...

Hey just asking out of curiosity, but who thinks that Pit will be an Unlockable, but one of the first, like you play the Subspace Emissary, and then after a certain part, Pit will fall from the sky, help you, and then after you complete the subspace emissary, you face him, and then unlock him.

I also have another curiosity question:
Do you think different characters will have different Subspace modes? Because of you play as Pit, then another Pit will fall from the sky... in the previous games that didn't matter, but this game may be more realistic...

And about the box-art... it could be fake... most likely is... because Nintendo would have announced it... or at least shown it.

I don't think the Dojo will show any unlockable characters. Also, boxart isn't something companies go and brag about. It usually just.. appears :P

I highly doubt that. In trailers, when a character is focused on extensively, that usually means those characters will be available from the start. That is, unless the trailers put said character in a different/distant perspective from everyone else (in Brawl's case, Snake), in which that character would be the exception.

That's probably something we won't know until we get the game.

It looks like (my educated guess) that there is only one story mode, you start off with Kirby fighting Petey and the plot can branches based upon the choises you make (save zelda or peach). Pit's stage goes after Kirby's is my guess.

The way that it's sounding now is there's going to be at least 2 endings, maybe 3. Cause I see no reason to play the story mode over unless I unlock a character at the end like Melee.

Seeing and hearing how the story mode is shaping, It's going to be hella longer than Melee's. Wonder how were going to unlock secret characters.

The thing that makes the picture of the SSBB cover is that you can see the Pokémon Trainer at the far left, and it looks original rather than a copy of one of the pictures already of the Trainer. Guess that means he's a starting character! :edgy:

Now we have Diddy Kong's special moves. His standard special is the Peanut Popgun. You can hold it down to make the peanut fly faster, but hold it too long and it will explode. Also, when the peanuts break, they sometimes leave behind tiny nuts, which you can eat to recover a small amount of damage.

Diddy's up-special is the Rocketbarrel Boost. He puts on a double-barreled jetpack that sends him flying. It goes faster when charged up, and you can even bend/change the flight path. If you get hit when using it, however, there's a chance it could blow off of Diddy's back and go haywire, possibly even hitting someone or crashing into the stage.

Man, I so called these moves a few weeks ago. Although, I didn't predict the expodling gun or ability to lose the jetpack. I have to admit, that's a nice touch.

@Rufus: That's rolling move your talking is like to be either his Side B move or a Smash A Move. It could go either way.

While that is true, The moves we have seen so far have been from Donkey Kong 64. And in Donkey Kong 64 had the rolling attack bumped down to a normal move and have a charging headbutt (The Chimpy Charge) to be the new dashing move. I predict that if they have taken 2 of the moves from DK64, The other 2 moves are likely to be from the same game as we seen done with some characters in Melee like Peach (SMB2).

However, They never said what game(s) the moves are taken from which leaves us in the case we in right now. Either the Rolling Move from DKC or The Chimpy Charge from DK64 can be used for a Side B Smash. Basically, It could go either way and all we can do is wait and see. :yuusaku:

Just askin everyone, which intro of SSB did you like the most??
Asking because I'm hoping for a Opening Cut-scene update, I just really want to see if the announcer is going to yell "SUPPPERRR, SMMMMAASSSHHHH, BRRROOOOTHHHERRRSS!!!" like he did in the 1 intro.

I'm voting 1st intro.

Today's update is Meta Knight's profile, which, as Sakurai puts it, "was delayed for some reason." Aside from a few new screenshots, though, it's really what we already know.

I wonder why Meta-Knight "was delayed for some reason." My guess, it was just to fill in a loop hole in updates set-up.

Althought, it would be nice to see his Final Smash soon...

Breezin' through this thread... and I gotta say... I like how everyone who enjoys playing Smash Bros. competitively is a 'tourneyfag'...

Oh no, people enjoy games differently than us!

(Not that I excuse the people who go "no items, 5 Stock, Final Destination, I REFUSE TO PLAY ANYTHING ELSE EVEN WITH JUST FRIENDS!"... but I haven't seen most of those last five minutes in a tournament being run with anything like the Smash Bros. community standard ruleset anyway. The standard rules still allow for more than enough variance that they get trashed the second something doesn't go their way...)

Well the metaknight update went a bit late but better now than never.

The boxart looks awesome like the original super smash bros boxart, however it doesen't look like it has wi-fi symbol but the game is gonna be so cool people will probably look past that.

Today we got two updates. The first is an upgraded version of the Pokémon Stadium in Melee, called Pokémon Stadium 2. It has Ice, Ground, Electric and Flying-type transformations, with appropriate Pokémon appearing on each one. The flying field is my personal favorite, as it enhances the jump of every character.

The second update is Mario's Down-Special, the F.L.U.D.D. from Super Mario Sunshine. Mario can charge it up, even while blocking, and release to send a spray of water at his enemies. It doesn't do any damage, but does have a strong knockback element. Also, it seems you can still do the Mario Tornado move from Melee, but Sakurai has not said how.

The tornado looks like its going to be a melee attack, in the trailers you can see Mario use his fireball (b), cape (>b), in the "YOU MUST RECOVER) we see the uppercut (^b), and now Fludd (VB).

Also remember Sakurai's comment a few weeks ago "Hero's come late" on the KK Slider song update, forshadowing Meta Knights role in the story >_> ?

First stage update that I love. I hated using Pokemon Stadium 1 before because the differences were just terrain shape, and since none of them fundamentally altered the size of the playing field, that's kind of meh. Just off of the Ice and Flying fields, I can tell I'm gonna enjoy this.

Also, since they numbered this one "2", rather than an "upgrade" or something, makes me wonder if the original will return a la the N64 stages in Melee.
