It is GBA quality, you can notice a huge difference on SOME songs. Like Search ~ Opening 2004.
Also, DS quality seems to have a higher tempo...

You have a tin ear then if you can't tell the difference in quality between the GBA and DS.
I'll just pull one right off my head. Listen to both versions of Examination ~ Allegro 2001.
BTW, I do implore someone to get the tracks ripped, at least the court room sections.

That said, I don't think I'd want mine to be considered an "absolutely permanent rip" either, due to the aforementioned imperfections. (I'm still holding out hope for RedPriest, who did the stellar JFA rip featured on finalturnabout - will he again step up to the plate?) And my other problem is.... I'm currently on 56K. Were I to upload, it'd have to be in batches, spread out over a couple of days.
EDIT: Also put up the Examination themes, mostly to illustrate a point over at GameFAQs. And now "Lordly Taylor" as well.

I've actually updated my AA2 rip with 4 tracks from the Encyclopedia sound test, "Great Revival - Miles Edgeworth", "Reminiscence ~ The Fire Carves Scars", "BONUS - Prosecutors Path ~ Miles and Franziska", and "Ace Attorney 2 - End". If I can find a place to upload it I'll do so, or feel free to catch me via AIM.
As for AA3, right now I plan to do a rip for it as well, once the game comes out in the States (and I can get it), but that won't be till October, and not till i beat the game once. Though I do have a question for anyone who may know: I believe it was discussed somewhere on this forum that the Encyclopedia sound test for 3 was very GBAish. For people who have the import of GS3, is the music improved for the actual DS release? I only ask because I'm curious if the Encyclopedia's GS3 music was just a quick unenhansed GBA version because the proper DSified GS3 music wasn't done/started when GS4/Encyclopedia came out. If it's the exact same, I'll probably just use the Encyclopedia to do it, if not, I'll do a game rip as I did for 2 (and hope I can get every track w/o sound effects as I won't have the encyclopedia as a s/e free alternative).
Also to note: I've not listened to a single track of 3's music. I don't like to listen to music to a game I've not played because it has such a strong connection to what's going on and I feel listening to it before hand comprimises that connection. I may just be wierd about that though... o.o
