Poor Apollo, what's a antannae-haired spunky red-vested lawyer to do? Taking over the job of a well loved video game lead is no easy task. Unending scrutiny awaits at every turn! You've got some big shoes to fill, little man.

Don't worry, we still love you. :odoroki:

Apollo's gotten a lot of flak for not being Phoenix, but I say...so what? I think he's adorable, and I hope GS5 gives us another great taste of our new hero. I love his enthusiasm and his dedication to his job. I love his emotional scenes that make me want to squeeze him to death. And I love his silly bug hair.

So for just this thread, let's not talk about Hobos, or spiritualists, or anything else that doesn't have to do with Apollo himself. He's new and he needs a little love.

(Apollo Apollo Apollo. I'm trying to get used to it. I think it's starting to work!)

Aw. The problems I have with GS4 from what I've seen of it are not to do with Apollo - he looks pretty cute and the graphics look fab.

I'm one of those few who likes Apollo more than Phoenix. And in my case much more.

I like his expressions and his whole attitude. I kinda just wanna hug him too. He's my favorite lawyer in all of PW and I haven't even played his game yet!

I'm struggling to wait for GS4. ^-^

Apollo is a darling. While I think they should work a tiny bit harder on making his internal monologue (and his and Minuki's relationship) different from Phoenix, I adored him so much. His cute-points are just so wonderful.

Considering any problems I have with the game, playing as him for two more of them is NOT one of them. <3

I'll admit that when I first learned that Phoenix was being replaced in the fourth game, I was pretty upset. But little Apollo has grown on me a lot since then. Now I think he's very cute, and I can't wait until his game hits American shores.

I've not played the game yet, but I've quite come to like Apollo from what I've heard about him. The poor sod gets a nasty revelation in the first case, and then finds himself dropped into the wacky world of law with little or no help from Phoenix. But still the guy brings his best, keeps a clear head, and points accusing fingers like a mofo. I hope the translation of GS4 will do him proud.

While Apollo may or may not be the best lawyer ever, his character design and animation is top-notch stuff. Just the way he moves and reacts sets him apart from his predecessors.

His clothes, while not anything spectacular or overdone, go well with Apollo about as much as the blue suit did to Phoenix. His hair is great, too, especially when it droops or moves around with Apollo's actions.

I know I really like Apollo. His 'OBJECTION' is really well done (even if he seems a little small for it) and his character seems nice. Here's hoping he's not overshaded as much in GS5.

Oh, and did I mention that I'll probably like the Apollo/Trucy interaction better than Phoenix/Maya? They just seem to go together so well.

Spoiler: 4-4
Especially now that I know they're (half)-brother and sister.

...NOT GO TOGETHER LIKE THAT YOU PERVERTS :beef:

I liked Apollo and Trucy's interactions. Trucy's not THAT different than Maya...but somehow the fact that she's acting her age, while Maya was acting *beneath* her age helps me excuse some of her behavior, haha. :garyuu: But I feel like we haven't *really* gotten to know her yet. I don't want her to end up a suspect, but I hope we get more out of her.

Spoiler:
And she's not even Apollo's only sibling - in a way, Maki is like his step-brother! I hope he comes back, but maybe not until GS6, when he's a tad older.

I've never had a problem with the new protagonist. Those Phoenix fanboys/girls are just upset that their favorite hero has moved on and that another has taken the spotlight. But, things change. You can't stop it. Only welcome it with open arms because it's not like you can stop it from happening. As a result, I'm now looking forward to learning more about Apollo aside from his background...

Spoiler: Big big BIG GS4 spoilers
That he's Yuumi's/Lamiroir's son. We still don't know who his real father is, though...as they say, "the plot thickens".

How can people not like Apollo? He's so adorable with his goofy hair and funny faces. And he wears a vest. Only coffee swilling pimps get away with wearing vests, so clearly he must be made of win.

Granted, my adoration for him is as shallow as character design, since my Japanese ability would get me about six lines into GS4 before I threw a dictionary across the room, but shallow will work for now.

Despite the fact I haven't played the game yet, I'm already an Apollo fan. (The same thing happened with Nick funnily enough, they both just have this awsomeness about them). His attitude is different to Nicks, and I find that interesting.

For a start, Apollo is more idealistic than Phoenix. Phoenix focussed on helping out his friends, while Apollo focuses more on doing the right thing. That pretty much explains the disparity between the two characters on GS4, you're more likely to bend the rules if you don't care about them.(or stopped caring about them in Nick's case)

And yes, I know. I talked about Nick in comparison. But that's because I wanted to show how awesome Apollo is. So should hopefully get away with it X3

I'm actually unable to wait for GS4 because of Apollo. He may not be the biggest dog in the yard, but as they say, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog," and I'm sure hoping he brings just as much, if not more of a fight than Phoenix did. I'm rooting for you, Mr. Justice!

<.< That and he seems to have endless shipping possibilities. But that's something for another time, now innit? ;D

Here's to hoping Capcom will develop more on his character so we know the "true" Apollo, our adorable new hero!

I really like his costume design, actually. But I am generally a fan of waistcoats and have been known to wear 'em myself with a collar and tie :)

I happen to love Apollo very much I think he is better than the bolagna and the cheese combined than all the characters in Phoenix's arc. I love him to death!

I mean people say his face is stupid. I don't see why people hate him.
I think some people need to more open minded. Especially people who HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED THE GAME YET!!!

I wouldn't say yet that I like Apollo more than Phoenix. He's adorable, but I'm waiting to know a bit more about him. To be honest, it took me a while to really warm up to Phoenix. But Apollo is too cute to not want to squish. :minuki:

And I know there's been a lot of talk about Apollo being overshadowed in his own game, but...at the same time, I hope that indicates that there are secrets in his past worth saving. Maybe he'll get a case in GS5 as important to him as DL-6 was to Edgeworth. They've already kind of set him up for it...

Spoiler: "4-4"
...with the Arumajiki accident. Will Apollo get to nail the guy that shot his mother!? That'd be pretty sweet, actually. Especially since she's still alive.

I fell in love with Odoroki with his slogans and seeming to have more fire in his personality then Phoenix. He seems to have everything going for him that Phoenix lacks. If he holds up my expectations when I play his game may be another story... I actually hope I'll love him more then Phoenix.

... if only he'd get a proper objection pose. His inky dinky finger just isn't in your face.

I agree with most of the above statements.

Apollo's objection is great, but I still won't ever get over the 'Objection' firefight you used to see with Phoenix and...say, Edgeworth? I can have that 'Objection' barrage looping in my head, no problem. I just can't imagine the same feeling with Apollo's objection.

Apollo looks much younger than Phoenix, so you can believe that he's smart for his age. Phoenix looks more 'seasoned', even in his first game.

The fact that Capcom made Apollo a lot more laid back looking and 'cool' makes me happy. Giving him brown hair (which is a thumbs up in my book), a breezy vest, and rolled up sleeves made me giddy.

Some people bitch and moan about Apollo's game being overshadowed by Phoenix's story, but I personally believe that was necessary. Who wants a fresh start with Apollo, and just leave the first 3 games in the dust? I still see people complaining that Phoenix's story was left as a cliffhanger. Where's Maya? Where's Pearl? Where's Edgeworth? Where's Fransizka? You understand, don't you?
