However, the cases ALSO revolve around the same plots as in the game (with, of course, a few differences, it being in space and with giant robots and all), but nontheless... I wouldn't say it's all that bad IMO! but...... I've been waiting FOREVER for an update (okay, a few months. lol) and I am just waiting for each of my favorite fanfics to be updated... hopefully before I die... and since I'm still in my teen years, that's semi-likely (unless do Kiler knows where I live. <_< >_>)

Having also recently watched TTGL, thinking about this for a few minutes gave me loads and loads of ideas for how a super robot version could be absolutely fantastic and full of epic win. I vote for keeping this one as a (sort of) real robot and doing a side project of super robots full of GAR and travelling through hyperspace to deliver punches.
IT IS CLEARLY THE OBVIOUS DECISION.

This shit is so awesome I'm having brick diarrhea and enjoying it.
So, um, I'll just spew out some random stuff about things that I wish I had the chance to talk about, eh, 30 pages ago.
Well, anyways, I'll just go at it as I like.
IF the story was to be revised (for example if this turned into, say, a comic project, flash animation, whatever), there's a wee change that I'd like to make to the whole Redd story. The thing is that him being a part of the Fusegi strikes me as plainly odd, not to mention that his flambuoyant style doesn't fit well inside of the ranks. Now, of course, we all KNOW that he's a traitor and a spy, but the deal is this:
We could just make it so much believable, full of tension and nice if we introduced Bluecorp into the mess. That would, for one, explain why Redd is filthy rich, also, him trading information back and forth also makes sense, and him owning private troops and tricking the Fusegi into a Saiban trap also seems to make more sense.
After all, this is a war, and I suppose that the Fusegi will also want to have their own allies, like for example big corporations with a lot of power.
Actually, that is one thing that feels very future-ish, having huge corporations with military power. Redd being part/head/branch chief of one of those (although 'allied' to the fusegi *cough*) would make a lot of sense.
Also, it'd spawn a lot of nice 'oooh I wonder if bluecorps can really be trusted suspension suspension'-opportunities for scenes, which would also be awesome.
Well, that's one thing.
Another thing that'd be more than awesome and give Godot even more Godot-ness would be having him inside a completely cybernetic body, with only his head and brain intact (even so, his eyes are fucked), and requiring him to charge up inside of his Mecha to even stay alive. Anyone who has played Zone of the Enders 2 know that using a mecha as a life support system is AWESOME TO THE MAXX and also explains why Godot is so immensely bent on revenge; he's leashed to a killing machine for the rest of his life, combat is the only thing he is still capable of doing.
(which leads me to: He HAS to introduce himself with "I have returned from hell to do battle with you." that's a given. Right? RIGHT!?)
Of course he would be able to be outside of his mecha, but not for longer than, say, 2-3 days, which will explain him meeting Friska in a bar. Also, I totally approve of them fighting it out and him seizing her by the neck like that, only thing, he HAS to do it all while holding a cup of kahwa (I mean coffee). Because godot without coffee is like edgeworth without ruffles. I mean, COME ON.
OH, about that, Edgeworth's flight suit needs ruffles. He needs the cravatte. Badly. He must have it at ALL TIMES. I mean, yeah, okay, phoenix has spikes and edgeworth has bangs, but the REAL defining feature about him is the CRAVATTE.
And umm, I'm certainly not stating this without anything back it up! This thread has given me inspiration! A lot of it, even! I'll be making arts, costume designs and mecha designs whenever I get the chance (e.g. tomorrow), although I MAY throw in original ideas for you all to view and review. And you'll just have to state your opinion about it :D

I think I'm going to keep Godot as the cyborg right now, he isn't tied back to Lazarus--but instead, he's got DAHLIA in his mind via his visor.
And of course he introduces himself like that--to Phoenix, anyway. It'd be a shame to have it any other way!
I'm... not sure how a cravat would work on a giant robot, but his dress uniform will have one for sure :P

Anyways, as for the godot-business, having him tied to the mecha perhaps is a bit troublesome; not to mention that it's a little rip-offy from ZoE2. Though I will still insist that complete cyborg-ness is too cool for words. With his whole nervous system digitalized, he can just hook his nervous system directly into the mecha, without having to use the controls at all (although I imagine he'd do it anyway when he needs to concentrate) because that means he can fight while totally chilling in his cockpit, hooked up to a thousand wires, drinking coffee/kahwa and insulting Wright simultaneously.
Which is, in my demented mind, too cool for words.
And if you don't get how awesome it is, I'll totally draw it for you and you'll totally see O:
Oh, and one more thing. Something that'd just transcend cool into the realm of AWESOME is how I imagine the berserker mode to be. Well, the berserker mode would basically the pilot getting hooked up to the systems by pure, well, BELIEF (This is bordering on super robot, but I'm totally into Real Robot so I won't try to drag stuff into directions, etc, etc., but similar to how GaoGaiGar has COURAGE and Gurren Lagann has HOT BLOOD and such. One of the big themes in Gyakuten Saiban is how Phoenix wins his cases by totally believing in his defendants and not flinching. And as such, as long as he has BELIEF/FAITH he will win.) and basically entering the realm where the AI normally operates, thus almost becoming one with the machine. Which has the effect of the pilot being able to channel all the energy of awesome (I don't know what fuels these machines, but I imagine it's like wireless cold plasma electricity) and do extremely awesome special attacks.
I don't know, but when I saw G Gundams shining finger, I just realized that Gyakuten MECHA without a pointing finger special attack is completely wrong ): Something along the lines of HEAVENLY TURNABOUT JUSTICE FINGER where Phoenix channels the energy of the phoenix wing weaponry into his finger and then totally blasts the shit out of the opponent.
It'd also come with a nice hot-blooded speech that'd end with stuff like "Tricking your peers, killing for the benefit of yourself! You have strayed from the path of truth! You have lost all belief! The rage of the souls you have decieved burns red inside of my heart (oh wait)! THIS WILL BE THE DECISIVE ATTACK! FOR YOU TO HURT ANYONE MORE, TO CONTINUE THIS MADNESS-
I OBJECT! JUSTICE FINGEEEEEEEER" *massive splosions*
): I guess this idea is so totally for the housuke odoroki super robot spin-off D:

And... it's a cool idea, but Diego isn't injured THAT badly as he is forced to escape from the Kurain. I mean, he's blinded and loses an arm, probably some other things, but not necessitating total cybernetic overhaul.

By the way, I was wondering if the designs have been finalized, in most cases. I'm nowhere to the quality of the flightsuit art, which was super special awsome, but I can try my hand at designing some military uniforms and casual stuff. ...Because I can't stop seeing Maya in babydoll, empire-waisted jackets. And coloration, if I can turn off the Lisa Frank rainbow-vomit that is the right side of my brain.
