I already mentioned why I didn't use the spoiler option.

As for other ideas that I came up with...

This one sort of builds onto what I was saying before about Iris and Phoenix. If Phoenix finally takes a leave of the spot light, because now he's busy with Iris, making a family, etc etc, it'll give a chance for Odoroki to develop more as a character on his own. I've been reading that some of the complaints about game 4 was simply too much Phoenix for a game that isn't supposed to focus on him entirely anymore. Heres our solution to that, somehow Iris and Phoenix get pulled together by some turn of events, they get back together, and then Phoenix and Iris try to settle down, taking him out of the big picture, but still on hand for helping Odoroki if needed (like lets say a case happens where it seems more information is needed, and it turns out a good number of people involved in the case itself happen to be people Phoenix has met before/were friends with him. If its done anything remotely like this I'm sure most fans would be happy, those of you who thought there was too much Phoenix get your wish by dropping him to the background {temporarily at the very least}, and then thsoe of you not wanting Phoenix gone entirely also get your wish because he'll still be around for giving Odoroki help and advice.)

And going with what I said in the previous paragraph, the case that would involve multiple "familiar" characters would help answer at least part of where have they been since game 3, what have they been doing, etc etc.

Thinking about who the new prosecutor should be I still think it should be an old face, but over the course of the past several years, their demeanor and personality have changed... or... pull a Godot, and have someone from Odoroki's and/or Phoenix's past come to the courtroom (could be for entirely different reasons than revenge). What I mean by "Odoroki and/or Phoenix" is not that the case gets taken over by Phoenix, or anything remotely similar to that... what I'm saying is the new prosecutor could be someone from both Odoroki's past AND Phoenix's path, and through something like this we can get another link between the original trilogy of the games, and this new saga.

What do you guys think so far? I'm gonna work on fixing things up a bit more, and mabe alter certain things completely, but I still beleive that if something similar to what I said above happens, we can finally put part of the old story aside by finally answering some of it, and then giving room for the new cast to develope more as characters.

I'm thinking that the new game should be focused on Apollo.
I mean, Phoenix always escapes death so many times, why not have him be a victim.
Mia Fey was the victim in GS1, so why not Phoenix?
Phoenix is a Harry Potter like character aka: a main that never dies, even after he is no longer the main hero.
Or, they could make Phoenix the Judge, he's growing too old to be a defense attorney, he's probably going to be in his early 40's in the next game.
Instead of having him in as a hobo, they could make him the new Judge.
I'm sorry, but the current Judge is getting too old for his job, being the Judge for three whole games.
If anyone should return, it should be the cast from GS4 (with the exception of Kristoph Gavin, whose in jail/executed).
If people want the old cast back, Capcom could make a flash back case of the events after GS3 but before GS4 explaining more of what happened to the Fey's.
If Miles did return, what would he be doing? Prosecuting?
I think that the cast of GS4 should return it only makes sense, the old cast lives on in fanfics, take something new, take it all the way.
Flashback cases would be fine, at least one, if people want Edgeworth back.
So if Apollo is like Harry Potter, then that would mean that...uh...either Phoenix, Kristoph, or the judge is gay then... Dumbledore and all... :meekins:

I think the problem with your proposed idea is that you couldn't just have Phoenix say, "Hey, I'm going off to get married to Iris, have fun with that case." The end of GS3 really didn't solidify Phoenix/Iris as a canon couple post-game, and because in GS4 it's pretty obvious that Phoenix is raising Trucy by himself, you would have to go back and explain why, after having waited seven years, Phoenix would suddenly turn around and decide to engage in some romantic relationship.

I think it's likely that Phoenix kept in contact with Iris, at least to some degree, but it seems pretty obvious to me at least that by GS4 Phoenix has no romantic ties to anyone. For him to suddenly drop out of the spotlight to be with a side characater from a previous game wouldn't make sense unless you backtracked to develop their relationship. Maybe that would please the P/I fans, but to the rest of us it would be a waste of time.

At this point, I seriously doubt that Phoenix will end up in a romantic relationship within the scope of the games. And even if he does...for the sake of the Apollo arc, Lamiroir is a much more "logical" option. (Not that I think he will, or want him to, but it would make more sense. Then we could follow the romance of two people who are still very important to the story as it happens, as opposed to flashbacking to a relationship that existed in Phoenix's arc mostly as an afterthought).

You do have good points... I guess I just want some closure on what exactly happened at the end of 3 because I really didn't like how little the ending actually addressed. (sure the whole godot/mia thing got out of the way as well as how/why Mia became a lawyer, and even the start of Phoenix becoming a lawyer, etc etc, but I just feel that besides that, not much else was really taken care of. I mean I really don't think that game 3 really ended that story arc. There definetly is enough left unexplained for maybe a few more cases, or at least a side plot to go along with a few normal cases.)

So while I hope game 5 goes over a bit more of what happened, I'm open to the new cast, as well as keeping some familiar faces around if not jsut as a supporting character in the background. As long as they address some of my concerns about what exactly happened for those 7 years and the original cast (including anyone important/semi-important from game 1 all the way to game 3) I'll be for the most part happy. (Again sorry for my Iris/Phoenix obsession, I just think that there should have been more to Iris than what seems to be a mere plot point. And it really did seem like they were in love... so it kinda makes me sad to hear nothing happens between the two afterward, despite all the suggestions that they still cared for eachother...)

NUUUU! XD I think Nick/Yuumi would be a nice pairing. It's just that Capcom probably won't do it >.> Which is a real shame.

I personally think though that I LIKE the ambiguity some of the things cause. We can make up our own minds over how often they meet up with firends, who's with who... It's a fanfictioners dream! But having GS4 as it is means that some peoples ideas are invalidated. But those are the breaks.

Maybe thats one of the the problems I'm having with gs4... (other than familiar faces being gone almost completely, and the ambiguity left by game 3.)

Looking back at some of the ideas here.... I'm liking some of them... and infact I can see a way of combining a few of them (including some of my own) to make a really nice story basis (even if it would only be a fanfic of sorts... :yogi: )

This is probably my dumbest idea yet, but I sill kind of like it.

How about a prosecutor whose mouth and/or throat was severely damaged in an accident, or better yet by a criminal, and has to speak through an artificial voice machine? Kind of like a reverse Godot.

It wouldn't make much difference in a text heavy game, until, that is, his/her "OB-JEC-TION!" comes out in a raspy robotic voice.

As things stand now, there isn't much backstory on anyone, really. Maybe that'll be Capcom's "big thing" like how the moral issues of 2-4 were to JFA.

I just had an idea for the tutorial case.

Odoroki is trapped in the bathroom just as the trial is about to start. Since she has the case file with her, Minuki decides to-

a) Impersonate Odoroki herself.

b) Use a life size wooden Odoroki puppet.

Thanks to Winston's bad eyesight and the Judge being the Judge, the plan (mostly) goes off without a hitch.

So, which do you like better, a or b? Or do you think this is my most rediculous idea yet?

At any rate, there will have to be alot of witnesses.. I mean, the length of the case has grown alot through the cases, and I think that AA5's will be the longest.

Maybe they'll even break the trend and have an investigation part.

If they have an investigation part, it would probably be Masonic. Don't know how that would tie into the tutorial aspects (unless they find out that repeated mason system exposure causes short-term memory loss, giving the writers an excuse to stop using it after 5-1... but that would be inefficient).

I haven't read all the recent posts, and I'm guessing this has already been brought up. But I'll mention it anyway.

[Spoiler: Trials and Tribulations]
Spoiler:
I think Godot should return as a prosecutor. Actually, if he was the main prosecutor again, that would rock. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Just because he was found guilty of murder doesn't mean he can't return. Especially considering the conditions of the murder he committed. With how the series works, some prosecutor in the game will have to have some sort of personal grudge against Apollo. I guess they could do something similar to what they did in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and have a different prosecutor show up in the last case. I just think Godot was too great of a character to be permanently thrown away. I really hope they keep him somehow.
