I doubt if they could legally get away with a direct mention of a brand name like Timbits. After all, they had to change the name of The Matrix when they referenced it (Phoenix's quote about The Grid: Revolutions).

In Britain, Kleenex is just one brand of tissue. It's not like we'd always call toilet roll "Andrex". Much easier to just call them tissues/toilet roll.

I know its easier, but most people just are in the habit of refering to all tissues as Kleenex. It's just like how most people say they're going to google something when they're researching it online.

I don't have a direct quote but in the end:

Spoiler:
When Ron and Dessie start their own business getting criminals to give up crime and their motto was "CUTTTT ITTTT OUTTTTTT PLEAAAAAASE!" and Dessie said something like, "kinda cute don't you think?" XD and also the fact that Ron mentioned that they sell criminal plans on the side and he trailed off saying something to the effect of "I can't help but think we're the real criminals..." Hmm.. ya think? :yogi:

Ron is seriously the most adorable one-shot suspect in the series <3.

Judge’s Brother: I feel like I want to hurry up and hand down a verdict just to have a bite…

Okay, as a Canadian, I'll say this: Firstly, I copied this STRAIGHT from the game: Scrumptous is bad spelling.

And secondly, we call "doughnut holes" something else up here, namely, "Timbits", much like many people call "Tissue Paper" by the brand name, "Kleenex".

Also, I know NO ONE who says "Brootal" like the judge. *grumbles*.

Canadians can't take a joke apparently. Not even when a real Canadian makes them.

Oh, I can take a joke, just not the same stereotypical ones such as that... although I wonder where the hell they got "HMMMM!!!!!!" from, as well as the constant "I'm not sure how I feel about that" line he keeps saying. I'll give them the word "hoser" though. since I think that's still used in the far-eastern provinces.

Also, words like "double-double" also are used quite commonly up here. It's just, well, the whole line in general pisses me off.... maybe it's that the Judge said that line to DAHLIA in general, and it just sounds creepy IMO...

There is only ONE thing I like about the Canadian Judge....... He's smarter than his American (not proven yet, actually) brother, apparantly, and that's good enough for me, eh? :enguard:

I'm Canadian and I like Udgey's brother :yuusaku: ... Characters are more interesting when they have accents or certain manners of speaking and I don't find anything offensive about the stereotypes they depicted. Plus yea.. he seems to have at least a little better idea of what's going on in the courtroom XD..

The only thing that bothers me has nothing to do with the fact that he's Canadian:

Judge’s Brother: You look as scrumptous as a double-double and a dozen doughnut holes… I feel like I want to hurry up and hand down a verdict just to have a bite…

Being female, I would find that offensive if some guy I never met came up to me and used variations of that line. But that is all. :eh?:

This was, without a doubt, my favorite LOL moment from the entire game:

Spoiler: Case 3-5 First Day of Investigation; after you break Larry's locks
Edgeworth: If that's all there is to your story, your heart wouldn't have had all those locks! Yes, Larry... I believe you saw something last night. Something incredible, as you put it.

Butz: Wh-What!? Wh-When!? Wh-Where!? Wh-Why!? H-How!?

Gumshoe: Hey! What do you think you're doing!? If you hide anything from Mr. Edgeworth, I'll arrest you on the spot, pal!

Butz: Ah... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!

*5 Psyche-locks appear*

Edgeworth: ...Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Gumshoe: Wh-What's wrong, sir?

Edgeworth: D-Does this mean I have to do it all over again?

I wanted to throttle Larry, but then I read his investigator's reaction and I almost fell off the couch laughing, because finally, finally someone said exactly what I was thinking.

Its been a while since I've been here...but I have to say just finishing GS3 today, or PW:aa3, that although the saddest part about the entire story is that I can play no more, the story more or less comes together well.

I love the SPARDA reference a lot, personally. and how 'zvarri' becomes attached to their vocabulary.

spoiler, large
Spoiler:
I am also a huge fan of Godot's complete obivience to the color red in cases 3 and 5, and at the end when he bleeds and says that "there is no red in my world, they must be my tears."

Larger spoiler
Spoiler:
I have to say I was intrigued by the Iris/Phoenix thing presented at the end. Athough a lot of people say Phoenix/Maya a lot, I dislike it because I felt Mia/Phoenix was something more substantive, whereas Phoenix feels more responsible and brotherly to Maya, but his personality is that such as him unto death he would protect those he cares about. I think the way Iris blushes when she talks to Phoenix throughout case 5 is pretty cute. Likewise Dahlia is an evil, evil character, but moreso Morgan Fey who put it all into motion. The whole thing is quite well spun.

Overall, the entire thing is over.... and I still want more Phoenix, rather than Appolo... maybe that'll be the case, but ot likely.
Godot is an awsome/sad character, along with much of the cast. Perals, Maya, Phoenix...all of em...now done with...for a while... at least (I hope they come back)
Spoiler:
Iris actually adds some sympathy for Dahlia because of the upbringing by her father and Mother(Fey), and Iris herself is a really good character to me.

I am getting LOADS of quotes, and here are some more, eh?

Spoiler: case 5 spoilers
(Lines stated upon showing Larry his own profile, as Edgeworth)
:butz: Call me “Laurice”!! If you don’t…
:butz: …then I’ll call you… I’ll call you… “Milise Deauxnim”!
(End lines)

Spoiler: case 5 spoilers, in the same sense as the spoilers with the previous quote
(Lines upon presenting Iris’ profile to Edgeworth (later lines) )
:gymshoe: Well, everyone knows that you are quite popular with the ladies, sir…
:gymshoe: Maybe she’s an old girlfriend that you sent to Dumpsville when you were younger.
:wacky-edgy: D-Detective! Where did you hear such nonsense from!?
:gymshoe: I didn’t hear it from anyone. It’s just sorta how I imagine you to be… sir.
:wacky-edgy: (…D-Do I really inspire this sort of frothing desire from the female masses?)
(End lines)

More at another time.

Well, I read thru 11 pages of posts JUST to make sure nobody else posted this one.... and I can't believe it. I think I have on my hands here a brand new quote (well, to this thread anyway).

However, I forgot the exact context and phrasing...

Basically during Case 3, you know a witness is hiding something, and Maya says

:maya: 'I guess he's like all men, with his own pile of secrets.'

There's no way that's not a reference to Dracula's quote from Symphony of the Night "What is a Man? Nothing but a miserable little pile of secrets!" It was such an awesome quote I even put it to Godot's animation BEFORE PW3 came out. (ON DS anyway)
http://media.putfile.com/What-is-a-man-48

Don't try telling me it's a coincidence. I refuse to believe it is.

I almost forgot, but I thought it was very funny, when the judge says, "I-I'm a spoon! I'm no spoony bard, I'll have you know!"
I think we all gloss over it, but it did give me a good chuckle.

There's a lot of great lines.
Especially Judge's younger brother who constantly makes reference to his beard, and even "I'm not sure how sure I am about being sure about whips in a court of law."

If you fail a question on the final day of 3-5, Godot says "truthiness". Steven Colbert, anyone?

Spoiler: Not really a spoiler but from case 5 so I'm being safe
In case 5 when you show the magatama to Gumshoe.
:edgeworth: Have you ever seen this thing before...?
:eh?: Hey, thanks a lot. I was getting kind of hungry! ...*chomp!*
:edgeworth: Wh-What are you doing, Detective!?
:sadshoe: Ack! ...I thought it was some kind of candy that would fill me up, sir. Lately I've been feeling so hungry all the time...
:edgeworth: (Nngh... Maybe his salary has been cut just a little too much...?)

I found this hilarious because I could so picture Gumshoe trying to eat the magatama. I just start giggling each time I picture it (poor Gumshoe!!!!).

:edgeworth: What is this festive-looking ornament?
:larry2: It reminds me of art class in grade school. We used to have a lot of fun decorating the classroom with origami. Remember?
:edgeworth: W-Well, I...
:larry2: Oh, yeah... You were never any good at it.
:eh?: Really?
:larry2: Yeah, this guy was so bad, he couldn't even fold a dollar, let alone a crane. Everyone tried to comfort him, but he would just sit there sobbing.
:eh?: Really? I never would have expected that--
:edgeworth: Be quiet already! I'll never forget the shame of that day! You want a crane! I can now make a perfect quarter-inch crane without a single flaw!
:larry2: ... You know, Edgey... Nothing for nothing, but a quarter-inch crane without a single flaw is not easy.
:eh?: Yeah, that's quite a feat, Prosecutor Edgeworth!
:edgeworth: (Grr... This is exactly why I hate childhood friends...)

I started laughing out loud at this one. I think it was Edgeworth's reaction that got to me.

Also while cross-examining Larry at one point Edgeworth thinks "Can one guy really be this stupid" and later "Yep, there's stupid and there's Larry" (not an exact quote).

:godot: Because where would that leave the porcu-headed lawyer, the top-knotted chick over there...
:godot: and the ungodly cool guy in a mask over here!
:ack: No! Not the hair!

Hoser may also refer more generically to a rude and unkempt person, similar to the more universal terms boor, slob, and lout. However, like other such terms (e.g. jerk) it can also be used in a much more general sense as an all-purpose mild insult. The term is also sometimes used outside of Canada as a mocking term for any Canadian, although this usage may be perceived as offensive because of the word's more particular meaning within Canada.

Here's a quote as well. The FIRST part has been previously posted, but I'm unsure about the rest...

:godot: So I decided to carry out an investigation in my own way… Godot-style!
:judge: I’m the same way. I like to hand down verdicts un my own way, Judge-style!
:phoenix: (Hmm, maybe I should ask some questions, Phoenix-style…)
(choices are given)
(select the first option)
:judge: How about it, Mr. Wright? Do you have anything to add?
:phoenix: No, I give up… This whole Phoenix-style thing, I mean.
:judge: It seems…
:judge: …this phrase has become overused, so I’m putting an end to it… Judge-style.
:nick-sweat: (sweating) (Then let it go already!)
