Maybe then Nick is like "I've had enough of the Steel Samurai after that case." And they could have like a little sung recap of it. And then Gourdy comes on TV. xD

Cue 1-4!

That sounds smooth enough. We do kinda have a time limit for all this, though, so the recap might have to be short as well.

Can we figure out how long the script would be if we tried to work all 4 cases in, before we decide for sure about cutting 3 out?

Yeah, we've got that as one of the variations of the script thing, it sounds like we'll have a bunch of different variations anyway. After they all combine I suppose we'll see the best way. ^^;

That's very true. We can stick something in about the Steel Samurai or make mentions to it; that way, all the Steel Samurai business with Larry in 1-4 is more justified.

(For example, right before 1-4 happens, Maya is watching the Steel Samurai in Phoenix's office, just like the beginning of 1-3. That would be a cute little scene:

:phoenix:: Maya, I'm trying to work!
:maya:: WOO. YOU GET HIM, STEEL SAMURAI. YOU ROCK. *fist pump*

you gotta do that! it would be so cute :3

I finished writing scene 1 for 1-2 : Mia and Maya's conversation to her death (including a song). All together, it takes about 4 minutes... providing that the song be 1 and 1/2 minutes-2 minutes long.

Seems like a good idea to bring in the recap should we have to cut it.
But if we don't, we MUST include a song with Oldbag somewhere. I see a lot of fast paced sixteenth notes, all the same pitch going on and on until interrupeted by Phoenix or something. Kind of like "It's just the Gas" from Little Shop of Horrors, only a lot faster.

The perfect example of a song like that is "Getting Married Today" from Company. The verses are sixteenth note rhythms all the way across at an upbeat tempo:

"Pardonmeiseverybodytherebecauseifeverybody'sthere
IwanttothankyouallforcomingtotheweddingI'dappreciate
yougoingevenmoreImeanyoumusthavelotsofbetterthings
todoandnotawordofittoPaulrememberPaulyouknowtheman
I'mgonnamarrybutI'mnotbecauseIcouldn'truinanyoneas

It's ridiculous. That sounds like a great idea for an Oldbag song, with slower, contrasting, Edgeworth-fangirl parts.

I'm currently trying to figure out how Sal will be done. You can't exactly speak 1337 in real life. What i'm thinking is, he carries his laptop around and communicates with it. For a song involving him, the words could flash on screen and make a small noise in tune with the song.

would that work? Hmm.... we could always give him the Stephen Hawkins treatment, and have him use a talking computer?... though it would probably mess up the music.

I was directed linked to this thread for a singing role, but I'm actually posting in case there was help wanted with post production.

I've met and have been mentored by a music producer who's worked many years in the industry. What I could offer is post production work if you guys are looking for that. I will be mostly doing it with Adobe Audition (My program of choice for this). Basically, what I can do is "sweeten" the sound, remove unwanted noises, and create a more desirable sound. My biggest concern right now is time to do it.

If you guys had something or someone else in mind, I'm sorry in advance. This project sounds awesome and I wish you guys the best of luck!

I personally think that Sal would just speak the acronyms out. "ROFS!" The smilies could be turned into over-exaggerated emotions. ( :( = him pulling a really ludicrous OTT unhappy face)

Four minutes for the first scene... But that's with a short song. You really could do the whole investigation in 10 minutes, it's that short. Thats why I don't want 1-3 cut out, 1-2 is really short XD

Takita, as said in the OP - we're going to need a sample of you doing some voice acting. Introduce yourself, imitate a few characters if you like, bit of scales and/or a song. Before the actual audio production begins, the script needs to be done first, and this may take anything from weeks to a few months.

Chihiro, I'm very honored to see more professionals in the thread, and you are very welcome to join for both singing and mastering, as long as this project does not collide with your schedule. I trust your experience, but I would greatly appreciate a clip of sample work and/or a voice clip, depending on what you prefer. Currently we're in the writing phase and it will take - as I said above - anything from weeks to a few months to arrive at the actual production. Nonetheless, I will add you to a new group for now: Mastering & Sound Design, if that's accurate enough.

Updating with the following:
Jenna Darknight to Songwriters & Arrangers
Chihiro to Mastering & Sound Design
Ajerben to vocalists [male]

Question: Is this an actual, gather-in-a-place-and-form-the-scenes musical?, or is it all web-based?

Sorry for the newbish question.

Well since we're stretched out in a few different countries, this is gonna have to be web based.

Original Productionn = Web based
Subsequent Productions = Up to whoever directs them ^_^

I might be wrong on this, but I think Ethed wants to do a real life production at some point after this is made. But our CR version is completely web based.

As OP says, yep, this project is entirely web-based. If it was possible I would not mind a real life production, however it IS highly unlikely: Copyrights, moneyz, yaddayadda. We may release the script along with sheet music at some point and contact Capcom, but yeah.. at this point, the project is from fans for fans.

I also want to volunteer to do some singing/voice acting for the project, Ethed. I don't have access to a microphone at the moment, so I can't get the recording done until later tonight at the earliest, but when I have it together, should I PM a link along, or is there a better way to get it to you? I can sing low tenor down to high/mid bass, so if there's anything in there that isn't already being covered, hopefully I can fill in somewhere. (It's a shame there's no room to cram in 1-5, though. I'd have liked to take a crack at Meekins. :megaphone: )

Hello Dilbert! Take your time with the recording, it doesn't have to be done tonight, but if I can listen to - say, a bit of song, scales to show your range, an introduction of yourself, a bit of voice acting (possibly even of characters from 1-1 to 1-4 you can identify yourself with or believe you could act well) - one of these days, that would be great. Be as eccentric as you like. Most of the roles have not been decided yet as we're still recruiting, so feel free to have a shot at any character.

Contact me via PM or AIM. My SN is Eth80. :) Looking forward to hearing from you.

Don't ask me about singing. I can only sing very, very, very depressing tones well ("Mad World" by Gary Joules), but I otherwise have a pretty nerdy, though sometimes fast, tone of voice. I was a top-level drama student for a while though, so I can easily change my voice's pitch in a heartbeat. I have a low-quality microphone though, so it'll be pretty hard to distinguish anything from it. lol.

Only one problem: As long as I don't have to hear anyone else sing as well, we're good. I am unbelievably strict when it comes to proper voice pitch, clarity, and tone, and even the slightest imperfection sets me off... it's scary but true. lol.

DUDE. :gant: I thought no one else would want to do Meekins! Now we HAVE to make a 1-5 musical.

I had this great idea for Redd White's song today- something that's ridiculously old-school Broadway would be awesome. The whole song could be about how fantastic he is.
