It was that last ram that woke Phoenix up. He'd been dreaming about being on a boat during a hurricane, which had prompted the "ALL MEN TO STARBOARD!" outburst when his eyes opened. After a few hard breaths he realized that he was not on the high seas, and a quick look behind him confirmed that the car was in fact being hit by someone. "Dahlia!" He exclaimed. "Is she trying to kill us?!" The last bits of reality settled in. "Oh right."

"Calm it!" said Chris alertly as he weaved in and out of more cars, and then decided to pull a bold move. He pulled a sharp U-turn in the middle of traffic, going the other way and hopefully losing Dahlia. "Give me directions to that Manor. NOW!" he demanded quickly.

"Never underestimate a woman!" Suzumi immediatly swerved and the car turned into an alley, almost colliding with a lorry. Dahlia crashed as her car was too big for the alley.
"Whew..." Suzumi pushed the pedal and they screeched off again.

"By the way, Mistress...several of our teams spotted Miss Hawthorne chasing a car down the motorw-"
Mrs Q suddenly gave a gasp of pain. Suzumi had thrown her fan at her head.
"THAT WAS US, YOU INSANE WOMAN!"
"Ah...am I insane because I listen to Sharan Q?"
Suzumi blinked as she pointed at Mrs Q.

As soon as they stopped the first thing Phoenix did was dive out of the car and stagger over to the nearest cluster of greenery. To which he immediately tossed his cookies.

Our parents divorced when we were young; we were taken from our mother, and I was adopted soon after that... It was probably the best thing that could have happened to me, my adoptive mother is so loving and kind, but Dahlia... Our father didn't care about her at all, he just took her to hurt our mother...

"It was a couple years before I saw her again, and I was amazed at how self-reliant she'd become living under those circumstances...but I could tell she was miserable. She'd started lashing out at the world, doing whatever she could to stay ahead; it didn't matter who was hurt in the process. I...just let her do it...no, I encouraged it... It was my idea to impersonate her to get the necklace back from you... I'm sure you don't want to hear this right now, but my sister isn't a heartless monster; she doesn't hurt people out of malice. She's scared and in a lot of pain... She made a terrible mistake that led to another and another... That necklace was at the center of her latest incident. I thought if I got it back for her, she could break out of this downward spiral and start making up for what she'd done..."

Iris lowered her head to her knees. She was trembling now, and squeezed herself harder in an effort to stop. "I was wrong. I never should have promised I would do that for her... Phoenix didn't really know what to say. He'd never really experienced anything remotely like this before to even begin to understand how she felt. All he could really do in the situation was sit down next to her, hold her, and smile.

"You have no control over another person, so you should not blame yourself for who your sister is. I don't think she's in pain... someone in pain would not continually chase after people in an attempt to kill them. She wouldn't injure so many people for almost no reason, or kill them all the same. Phoenix couldn't help but wonder if he'd even really met Dahlia as he gazed down at Iris. Surely he'd have been able to tell them apart. Twins or not, it sounded like they were totally different people.
