"I do too...” Said a voice that sounded like Odoroki’s yet appeared to come from the stylish shades on his head. “Wait, what was that?!?! It was like I was just suddenly possessed by a demonic spirit or something, weird." He shook his head trying to get the feeling out of his head, as he slid up onto one of the many barstools, waiting for the prosecutors to have their stab at the singing machine. Maybe in a little he would take another stab at it like CI, he didn't want to be a microphone hog though. "Sooooo, you're pretty new in town too, then?" He asked.

"...." She'd heard the little voice, and that coupled with Odoroki's rambling explanation made her laugh hard enough for a slight sembelance of tears to form in her eyes. ....That was....too funny.

Straightening herself, she took a sip of her shake before idly swirling the glass, she too taking residence upon a barstool.

"Mm...I guess you could say I am. I know a few of the new defense attorneys, but for some reason i know more prosecutors." Sweatdrop." "Mr. Godot is nice though...and Miss Franziska, if you can avoid her whip long enough. Though, she's never whipped me much. " Lifting a hand, she swept her bangs from her eyes.

"CI, I'll try the karaoke now." Franziska Swift, or "Friska," was walking carefully up to the stage, trying her hardest not to be noticed. She flipped through the songs, and chose Beyonce's Irreplaceable. She started to sing nervously, as she had never done this. Halfway through, she settled down and forgot her fear. "How about I'll be nothing? Nothing at all to you," she sang loudly and passionately. She finished with a smile on her face, proud of herself for accomplishing something she had thought impossible. Friska walked off the stage and sat down at her table.

Odoroki turned a bright shade of red, ‘guuuuh, now they are laughing at meeeee’, he mentally groaned. Still, he quickly recovered, swiveling his chair so that the could address both CI and Yuuka at the same time, “Oh, so you’re new here too? I wasn’t expecting to get a double response to that question, never matter.” He grinned, “I’m Odoroki, or… I guess the ‘Doki for short, and you are?” He said to the general assembly of all those he was now speaking too. “More prosecutors than DAs, really?” he chuckled, “Well that’s slightly ironic, now isn’t it. Franziska… That’s another name I’ve heard before…” He trailed off for a minute, “Wait, so you mean it’s true what I have heard? She really whips people?! In court?!?!” The young DA was fascinated.

"I'm Kaoru Yuuka~" She grinned softly, running a hand through her hair. It was...rather ironic, how she knew more prosecutors than DA's. Franziska had once mentioned to her that she could still become a prosecutor, but her resilience stood; there was a specific reason she had become a DA.

She nodded rapidly, moving a hand to her mouth. "Yeah! She's whipped Nick in the face so many times....Poor guy passed out and had to be removed from court after the trial! And Mr. Godot....well. he tends to drink coffee in court." She chuckled softly.

"So then, Odoroki-chan~ Why did you become a DA?" It was something most lawyers seemed to ask each other, so...why not ask him?

Odoroki looked at his feet and poked his fingers together awkwardly, "Errrr, It's a long, kinda complicated story, actually... Let's just say," he collected himself, "I love justice." He stared wistfully into the ?sunset/distance? For a moment, who knows what that crazy kid is doing. "What about you?" he asked her in return. He really should get used to that question; it was a customary conversation starter with defense attorneys, after all.

(( I actually have no clue why the real Odoroki became a DA, if it has been announced why yet, then bugger on me for not being up to date on spoiler info yet...))

"Ok!" CI said "Barkeep, could you get this young lady some water." He turned back to Friska "I think she is. I'm not sure, but I could have sworn I heard she was." he then added. "You're a defense attorney too? Thats awesome. I bet you and Yuuka would be good friends!" CI was kind of scared to tell Friska what he did: security at a Triad run casino as well as a gun runner. The barkeep then returned with Friska's water "Don't worry, it's on me. Consider it my treat to you!"

Yuuka smiled fondly. For some reason, he reminded her of Nick when they first met..And even though she had been asked her reasons why, she was still a bit surprised when someone asked; her reason was long and complicated, but...

"Well....It started when I got wrapped up in something. This woman who...killed my parents when I was young, was after me too. At one point I was suspected of doing it..I was afraid to get anyone involved until Miles and Mr. Godot insisted. Nick helped me out too, so did Franziska in her own way. If it wasn't for them..." She trailed off, glancing to the side. What would have happened? it was something she'd never know, nor would she want to know.

"I want to be a good attorney so I can thank them for what they've done for me." She turned to the rookie, and beamed.

[Hmm....I haven't heard anything. Maybe they won't say. D: ]

Walking outside the bar, it's neon lights beckoning to him, Kusanagi stopped, his breath forming tendrils of vapor in the freezing night air.

The front door to the bar swung open softly, the man outside it drawn in by the music.

Six feet tall, wearing a black leather jacket over a pale blue dress shirt, he walked over to the bar, taking in the sights of everyone there. Kusanagi had just transferred to this town two days ago, and after moving to his new apartment, decided to head out.

Ordering a green tea, he sat down at a table near the back, casually smiling as he ran his fingers over his hair, slicking back the few brown hairs that weren't long enough to be pulled back into the ponytail that went down to the base of his shoulders.

He nodded thoughtfully for a moment before replying, “Well, that sounds like a pretty good reason for becoming an attorney to me,” he said at last smiling softly at her. “Sounds kind of like my reason, but…” he hopped off of his chair, a foolish grin now on his face- also conveniently changing the subject abruptly, “enough of these sad subjects, ne?” he finished his coke, “I came here to sing and have a good time!”

Odoroki glanced over at the newcomer. This was a happening place.

((Oh, they had better… Especially after not bringing back Milesey. I could just improvise like all good defense attorneys do…))

She had no idea why, but she could feel the beginnings of a blush burning her cheeks as he smiled. As he spoke, she tilted her head, before a dorky grin formed, hopping off the stool. "I agree. Let's party~!" Setting her glass down, she linked an arm around his. "Hey. Maybe we could do a duet or something?"

She too spotted the newcomer, and tilted her head. So many types of people here tonight...It made her feel a bit giddy inside.

Kusanagi stood up, sliding out of his jacket and unbuttoning the top closure of his shirt. This would be fun!

Walking past the couples seated at the tables, acknowledging each one with a grin, he got up on stage, and held the microphone stand.

"Ah. Yeah! I want to see what he'll sing..." She grinned, releasing his arm. It was then when CI approached her, and she tilted her head, looking to the shy girl. "Hello. Uhm...reading? I guess....shoujo manga counts, ne?" She rubbed the back of her head with a nervous grin.

She paused, glancing up as the newcomer began to sing...She remembered this song; her parents used to dance to it on occasion when they thought she was asleep. As with Odoroki's performance, she was thoroughly impressed, clasping her hands together in sheer joy.

A fangirlish squeal emitted from the defense attorney, all but melting into a puddle of Yuuka goo. if there was one surefire weakness, it was a good male vocal. She had no idea why, maybe it went back to her father being a producer.

She cheered loudly, applauding, and clasping her hands together once more. She didn't even know what to say at this point, if she could speak.

Turning now to Kusanagi, she grinned a bit; CI was on the mic at the moment though... "I'm Kaoru Yuuka. Pleasure to meet you too." She bowed slightly, and would let 'Doki take the mic if he wanted.

It had been medically proven that too much exposure to Odoroki could make his characteristics contagious, not that that was a bad thing or anything. "Yeah, let's show him..." he mumbled, "Intently watching the song selection sheet."

((ok, it's terrible, but the only duet songs I can think of are by Aqua... Candyman, Roses are Red, Dr. Jones, My Oh My, etc... ))

((OH GOD. I was actually thinking that, but then was like "oh god no". But... Oh dear, I'm going to have this mental image engrained in my brain for all of time now.
