I've been sniffling the past couple of days. It's annoying, since I'm sniffling, I've got a runny nose, etc, but I'm not totally sick--usually I feel like crap when I'm sick, but I still feel strong right now. It's strange.

Spoiler: Small wall of text/mini rant
Me neither. I truly love my family (Greeks = very family-oriented, I feel blessed to be a part of such a family) and I'm probably actually going to look to them for a lot until I can get my real career started after college. What's really funny is that a kid I know prides himself on being all "mature" or "independent" just because he drives himself to school and has a job working maybe once or twice a week at a college bookstore. He wouldn't have that job if his dad wasn't the manager of that store :P Get this--he wants to save up and buy himself his own car (because he'd feel more proud with one) with the money he's getting from work. I wonder what he'll do about insurance, which will be amazingly high due to his being a teenager (he isn't even off of his J.O.L. yet!), or if he's going to pay for that car in one cash payment or plan out his own payment plan with the dealer :moe-laugh:

All the while, yeah, I'm not working, but my grandmother is being extremely generous and putting money from her pension into my bank account every month so that I'll easily be able to buy books and whatever else I need for college when the time comes. I've got a whole summer to work; academics are my first priority (after the obvious ones like family and God), and (I hope) always will be until I finish school. I'm getting better grades (straight A's baby) than that other kid while taking more difficult classes to boot (four AP classes this year), all while exercising every day (that other kid is a scarecrow XD) and having plenty of time to enjoy myself and to get together with friends on the weekends. All in the comfort of my own home, with my family (unless I go to a friend's house for a visit or get-together >_>).

I really believe that by trying hard in school and achieving, and especially with my family to support me, that I'll be on the fast track to a good college and an even better career, a career that I'll be able to support a family on and prove to my family that I was worth all their time and effort.

Heh heh... Yeah, partly. ^^; Bigger problem though, she doesn't know I'm gay :o So... I have to be prepared to "out" myself as well to her...

Just put in what you feel for your significant other...it's a bit harrowing to do a Valentine's card if you don't know what to put in it.

Back to the topic, tired...just got into the office and started to brew up some tea for myself...

I wouldn't say everything is all hunky-dory yet. I have to visit my counselor next Tuesday and sort everything out with my family, etc. by then. I was merely stating that I felt better than the previous weeks, but that's still not saying much.

Currently upset because I've had to accept that no-one will reply in detail to my walls of text. It takes effort to make decent long posts, so why bother if they're going to waste? D:

H'okay! :D

Back when I was 15, in the ye olde days of 2003, I met someone on a forum who was my age and for some reason I can't remember, we decided to say hello to each other on AIM, which was a new thing for me at the time. We ended up bonding over the fact that we both had crushes that we were trying to work up the courage to ask out, and although it didn't go well for either of us, we kept in touch, and I know for a fact that despite the fact she lived 3000 miles away from me, I was able to help her sort out her feelings and we both learnt about the situation from the perspective of the opposite gender. It's a real eye-opener. :P We kept in touch on and off for years.

Recently though for some reason she stopped replying to my IMs. The last thing we discussed together was not pleasant, and I just gave her the best advice I could. That was the last I've heard from her. In the back of my mind, despite the fact I see her log in every day, I can't help but worry the worst has happened - to be honest it couldn't get much worse... :/

On a side-note, the forum keeps disturbing me with some of the "jokes" that run around here. I just know that in five years people will come across these old posts and think: "Crap, I really wish I hadn't written these! >_<" My posts from 2003 would be unbearable to read these days, and I see many people making similar mistakes to the ones I used to make. I can't help but cringe. XD

I'm often amazed at what passes as acceptable round here. I won't go into detail in public because it's not fair but this forum is easily the most "WTF?" place I've ever frequented. The jury's out on whether that's a good thing or not. XP
